Obama exposed. Meetings and tables. Seizing power. Trusting the local paper. Plus more.
As to the Congress exempting itself…give me a break! I’m absolutely convinced that somewhere, deep in the bowels of bill writers hell, there is a boilerplate paragraph which BY LAW must be included in every bill, which exempts the Congress from anything in that bill — except for pay raises that is — we all know Congressional pay raises are automatic unless SPECIFICALLY voted down.
Oh well.

FACT CHECKING LOCAL PAPERS
Re: R. Emmett Tyrrell Jr.’s More
Media Follies:
Thirty-eight years ago, my first husband and I flew from Iowa to
Florida to get married in Flagler Beach. In the meantime — back
in Iowa, our relatives contacted the local paper, “The Clinton
Herald”. Our wedding announcement was published in my hometown
newspaper before we even returned home from our honeymoon.
Hmmmmm.

A man of faith in a godless age is hitting Americans where it hurts.
Mr. and Mrs. American Spectator Reader, let P.J. O’Rourke talk sense to your kids.
In Britain, defending your property can get you life.
The debacle of this president’s administration is both a cause and a symptom of the decline of American values. Unless Congress impeaches him, that decline will go on unchecked. An eminent jurist surveys the damage and assesses the chances for the recovery of our culture.
It won’t take long for conservatives to scratch this presidential wannabe off their 2008 scorecard.
The American Christmas, like the songs that celebrate it, makes room for everybody under the rainbow. Is that why so many people seem to be hostile to it?
Was the President done in by the economy, or by the politics of the economy?

Officer Crowley up in Cambridge should let Obama and Gates know that there is a teachable moment here. He should publicly state that Gates and other blacks should not rush to play the race card just because a white cop is involved in a situation; and that people in positions of power such as Obama and Patrick Deval should not opine on matters when they admit they don't have all of the facts.
Crowley should tactfully and graciously explain that there is simply no reason to go have a beer with them unless they publicly apologize for rushing to judgment about himself and the other two officers who were with him. If that happens he should gladly accept the invitation provided the other two officers are also invited. That is the teachable moment for the race baiters and the country as a whole. Officer Crowley should not let this opportunity pass.
On the other hand, if he does have a beer with them, and they don't apologize during the meeting, he should make that known because he and the other officers certainly do deserve one.

If Officer Crowley does meet with King Zero, tell him under no circumstances look that man in the eye. This seems to cause people's legs to tingle and their knees to go weak.
In fact, tell him to wear sunglasses.
Better yet, tell him to politely refuse to go at all.

If I were Officer Crowley, I would politly decline. Nothing happened during the incident that requires patching things up. Crowley acted professionally, Gates blew his cool. End of story.
