Don't fail to fight Sotomayor.
If and only if the Democrats try to unfairly stifle or rush debate, and if and only if there are signs that the public is moving against Sotomayor or that any Democratic senators may be wavering… then the filibuster should be used.
Here's how it would work. The GOP leaders would announce from the start that they think they can change some minds and that more debate would be relevant. They would announce from the start that they want no more than a specified number of additional hours of honest debate. They would announce from the start that they are prepared to filibuster unless and until all those hours are granted, and that they will deny cloture as many times as necessary to secure those additional hours. But they would pledge, from the start, that they will stop filibustering and allow a final vote, up or down, whenever those hours have been exhausted.
If their arguments aren't working to produce a public groundswell, then so be it. But if their arguments are moving public opinion and forcing self-proclaimed "moderate" Democrats -- Baucus, Bayh, Begich, Bennett, Byrd, Carper, Conrad, Dorgan, Gillibrand, Hagan, Johnson, Landrieu, Lieberman, Lincoln, Nelson, Pryor, Shaheen, Tester, Warner -- to feel some heat and reconsider, then the Republicans should exhaust every hour they have demanded.
How many hours? However many were devoted to the longest previous floor debate on a Supreme Court nominee.
The Republican leaders should trust the good sense of the American people to recognize honest, aboveboard debate when they see it, and of the American people to appreciate it. The leaders should provide just such debate. No insults. No gamesmanship. Plenty of unfeigned courtesy. But dogged persistence nonetheless.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney is proving that just such a principled commitment to public advocacy can be effective, even from an opening position that appears to be weak and unpopular. Cheney is proving what too many Republican politicians have forgotten: that patient, honest advocacy is a virtue.
And if the cause is worth it -- and few causes could be more worthy than protecting the Constitution -- then the political fallout is worth risking. Indeed, it is more worth risking from a position of apparent weakness than from one of strength, because the room to gain is greater than the room to fall.
So many underpinnings of American government, culture and tradition are under assault right now that somebody, somewhere must rally the cause of ordered liberty before it is too late. This is the time. This is the fight. And this is what the old-fashioned filibuster is for.

Get out the spaghetti sauce folks. The republicans will NOT stand up to this nomination. They won't dare risk going after her because of her being a "she" and they don't want to loose that hispanic vote. Like they had it any way.

The whole ploy of portraying her as a poor person who rode to a federal judgeship, as opposed to an activist who is actually quite wealthy, and also as a person who may have in been in the front lines of forcing lending institutions to lend to minorities when they couldn't afford the payments, is rather intriguing.
You see, in the heat of the financial meltdown, it's OK to attack the rich, so care has been taken to portray her as anything as what she is, a rich elitist.
The Republicans should take the strategy of letting the American public know about her past, including her racial animosity towards whites.
It's worth a few laughs and they may not stop her nomination, but the American public will see how phony she and the pursuit of victim identity politics has become.
In the meantime, here's a good synopsis of the lady from Greenwich Village.

The "riches" part of Sotomayor's rags-to-riches story began when she left her low-paying job in that prosecutor's office and joined the Pavia & Harcourt law firm. Her clients included Fendi, maker of luxury purses that she was unlikely to have seen as a child in the Bronx.
Still, she kept her hand in the Puerto Rican community — possibly to the point of a conflict of interest.
She served simultaneously on New York's campaign finance board and the board of the Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund, an advocacy group that took legal action in 1991 to fight what it considered discriminatory redistricting. Sotomayor didn't recuse herself from a finance board discussion of the redistricting battle, despite the involvement of her own advocacy group.
Also during this time, Sotomayor served on the state board that makes mortgages available to low- and middle-income New Yorkers. She missed nearly a third of the board's meetings during three of those years but apparently still left a mark. Cuomo said Sotomayor's respect for the law, her "life story" and her integrity were deciding factors in his decision to name her to the agency.
And when she left in 1992, the agency's board adopted a resolution praising her for defending "the rights and needs of the disadvantaged to attain, maintain, and secure affordable housing appropriate to their need." It went on: "Ms. Sotomayor also served as the conscience of the Board concerning the negative effects of gentrification which can harm communities and create hopelessness and homelessness if individuals and families are displaced."
Republicans are scrutinizing her full record and background, but carefully. The White House warned as much earlier this week.
"It is probably important for anybody involved in this debate to be exceedingly careful with the way in which they've decided to describe different aspects of this impending confirmation," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said.
With Hispanics a growing voting bloc, and ethnic sensitivities high, few are willing to be as blunt as former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who said of her comment that a Latina woman would rule more wisely than a white man: "New racism is no better than old racism."

Sonia's Sensitivity Scale (SSS) Needs Clarification.
I want the question posed and answered by little Sonia: which groups are above and below your
judicial decision ability scale? As a nonLatina, female attorney, I assume that I am below your level because I am not a Latina, but what about a nonLatina, ameriasian female? Are her life's experiences less rich than yours? What about the Native American nonLatino male? Is he rich enough in his experiences? What do you mean by rich experiences? Is that code? For what? Anyone can cook cucina criolla with a good cookbook.
Roughly, the U.S. is reportedly composed of the
following percentages by racial groups. Ethnic Groups White 77.1%, black 12.9%, Asian 4.2%, Amerindian and Alaska native 1.5%, native Hawaiian and other Pacific islander 0.3%, other 4% (2000). Note: a separate listing for Hispanic is not included because the US Census Bureau considers Hispanic to mean a person of Latin American descent (especially of Cuban, Mexican, or Puerto Rican origin) living in the US who may be of any race or ethnic group (white, black, Asian, etc.).
Please let us know so we can pick only the best people.

The fix is in. Republican senators will "criticize then confirm" Sotomayor. She will get over 90 votes, proving that there is only one political party in the United States.
WilliamInWien| 5.29.09 @ 8:02AM
Unfortunately the Republican Senate "leadership" is reminiscent of your harmless oldest uncle who shows up at every family event and smiles at everyone. Good for an uncle, not for a US senator. The difficult task wil be to reduce Sotomayor's decisions and comments into concepts that the average citizen is able to understand, including the implication of these views on future court decisions. Of course, this will have to be accomplished in an environment where any "hard" questioning of the nominee will be treated poorly by the "working press". I will try to convinve my two Democratic senators that they should vote to preserve the legislative prerogative of the Senate from the Supreme Court and a "policy making" role.
Michael L. Hauschild| 5.29.09 @ 8:06AM
Much has been bantered about the SCOTUS nomination. Gender, politically liberal, Hispanic origin, ect. None of that of course should make any difference if, as a jurist, she follows the job title and interprets the law. Following the law though is as far from her “vision” of justice as is Obama’s non-partisan approach to POTUS. Those who wish to keep in place the check and balance functions between the Judiciary, Legislative and Executive branches, whatever party, should go after her tooth and nail.
In the scheme of events that are imminent her appointment will be looked at two ways: the interpretive “legislate from the bench” liberals will say they were lucky to get her entrenched before the roof fell in, and the strict constitutionalists will simply point to her as a classic example of the socialist agenda that placed a hiatus on democracy.
This may be too early to create the “rats on a sinking ship” exodus from the hijacked vessel of the Democratic Party, but they are taking water. The salvation of the conservative movement lies not with staunch Republicans, or even in the deluded imperialistic RINO faction, but instead with many of the currently cowering Democrats and a constituency heading to the 2010 elections carrying torches, tax statements and pitchforks.

Mr. Hillyer, I agree that this would be nice, if it happened, but it won't. These fools are spineless & they will knuckle under to the race baiters on the left. The only way to get their spines up is to burn down the phone & email lines to our respective Republican senators & inform them of the consequences of a "yes" vote. This woman's inherent racism is appalling, bordering on supremacist. Not to mention her antithetical views on the Constitution. Then again, look at the fool who appointed her.

Unfortunately, one need not read further in this article than "when unimpeachable principle is so obviously at stake" to conclude that, whatever the hypothetical merits of Hillyer's argument, he might as well be advising Republicans to conjure a herd of unicorns by rubbing a garden gnome.
The only thing more disgusting in politics today than the Democrat party is the Republican party. Patty cake it shall be today, patty cake it shall be tomorrow and patty cake it shall be forever. In fact, you may see that tagline on campaign commercials in a few months.
I don't know why the fecklessness both of the Repub pols, the constellation of Republican punditry and other GOP "influencers" amazes me each and every day, but it does. They never tire of putting the "kick me" sign on their own backs - and ours.
These geniuses are so circumspect, so dignified, so equinanimous in telling us to "tread lightly" on the Sotomayor bigotry. Yes, and by all means let's be sure to say "please" and "thank you" when requesting the blindfold as we stand in front of the firing squad.
By all means, let's be aggressive in enforcing procedural niceties but ignore the giant jackass commiting rape right under our noses.
When are these soon-to-be extinct denizens of glitterati-land going to stop advocating surrender as a strategy for victory? Go join the Dems, already, and take your cynical corruption with you.
If it's true, as you say, that adhering to conservative principles and the pesky discipline of right and wrong is suicidal, then the game is up anyway - and that's the point of all of these phonies like Colin Powell telling us to go along to get along. They're merely standing in line for their slice of corrupt spoils.
The minute you buy into the prevailing wisdom that we can't mention the obvious, you are ceding the framing of the argument to the Dems. So instead of standing up for principle we're supposed to pander to the "gimme, gimme, gimme" of victim groups and the blatant corruption of their patrons?
We have to stop listening to these craven whores who don't want to give up their Georgetown townhouses and, yes, listen to Rush Limbaugh and the few others that have the cajones to stand up for what is right.
It'll never happen. And that's why Obama got elected, that's why the inmates are now ruling the asylum, that's why we now live under tyranny and that's why America is OVER.

And I thought this was the dumbest comment Dave ever made, turns out its the smartest. Well, Dave is a worthless waste of space, but this statement does speak volumes about his intelect.
I love the Harriet Miers reference, yea that was a dumb nomination, and was justly defeated. Just like Sonia Sotomayor is a bad nomination and should be defeated. Unlike the retoric from the Democrats I would love to see a return to values, like the smartest and most qualified get nominations, not the smartest liberal latina women or the smartest half black non-muslum, just simply the best qualified. Our nation deserves this.
I have no faith that the Republicans in the Senate will stand up and take the correct position of fighting this poor nomination. For some reason the current crop of Republicans are influenced far too much by the Colin Powell branch and the belief that in order to win elections we need to be more like Democrats, instead of the reality which is the Republican party need to differenciate itself in "bold colors not pastels" and offer a real choice to the American people, a choice that most Americans have already proven that they approve of.
Goodness putting Justices on the bench that advocate legislating from the bench and admit that they cannot judge cases based on facts and not feelings is a huge mistake. What a disaster.

One last thought - the Democrat party destroyed the Black American family for political gain; they are now fast at work on similarly balkanizing and infantilizing Hispanic family.
Both of these victim groups, before they were assigned "victim" status, were once possessed of proud, conservative, family-oriented, religious and life-affirming values. In other words, everything but their skin color and concomitant usefulness as battering rams was anathema to the Democrat party.
I'm not sure there is a way back for conservatism; once we've devolved into the greedy, sybaritic, what's-in-it-for-me onanism that is today's culture (thank you, Democrats), I think the second law of thermodynamics applies. The decay has gone too far.
But until liberalism ultimately consumes itself (which is inevitable), for the sake of humanity the Republican party should absolutely try to include more blacks and hispanics; but not by enlarging the tent so that it covers the same expanse of mendacity that liberalism covers.
We need to appeal to the better angels of human nature - the aspirational values that used to sustain and dignify all these cultures - instead of the cynical instant gratification, retributive hatred and chaos the Dems continue to try to gin up for their own gain.
That's a tall order - and again, if history is any guide, it's too late. Nevertheless, the first step in mounting some kind of defense would be to gain a beachhead in the media beyond Fox News (which is far too often a disappointing, populist mess) .
Propaganda worked for the Nazis and it's worked for liberalism since the days of Edward R. Murrow. If we're going to change the Kool-Aid recipe, we need access to the kitchen.
Eventually the Obama orgy will end in tragedy, destruction and despair.
Sadly, though, my bet is that even with Obama's and his cronies' bloody hands in plain sight for all who have eyes, it'll still be Bush's fault.

DM use of this term "teabagger" ["David Mathews| 5.29.09 @ 9:11AM....Hello Teabagger...."] indicates his sexual persuation/orientation, as does those of recent sexual innuendo use on the Rachel Maddow Show, the Keith Olbermann Show and the Cooper Anderson Show [which was disgusting, vulgar, and juvenile and additionally detrimental to TV watching children], most or all of whose show hosts are homosexuals. As to the subject matter, Quin's thoughts are, as usual, accurate and pertinent! My opinion concerning same is that the Republicans on the Judiciary Committee [and in congress generally] should use as their debate template the exact, same methods used by Democrats when they rejected Sessions', Estrada's, and Bork's appointments! Were those methods dispicable, slanderous, asinine, politically partisan, etc? You damned right they were and Republicans should follow suit! The Democrats/Obama are going to attempt to rush the hearings toward a speedy conclusion, just as they are now doing with every policy [ie healthcare, stimulus, etc] that they're implimenting, so that the typically stupid Americans who elected him/them will not have a chance to adequately question the falsehoods of same, and to uncover the fraudelent activities involved in same. Obama was elected due to Acorn's efforts, his TROJUN-HORSE subversive campaign methods, and the imbicilic mentality of his adoring liberal followers; and now they are trying to cram down America's throat as much liberal BS as possible, in as short a time frame as possible. It's called CHICAGO/MOBSTER STYLE POLITICS, folks, as exemplified by their illustrous former governor, Rod; their senator, Roland, and their former representative Emmanuel [now white house staff chief and bigtime hoodie]! Presuming that Sotomayor will testify under oath, they should question her extensively concerning her Catholic background/upbringing, and how she can square/coordinate same with her ultra-liberal legal opinions concerning abortion; priests' sexual abuse for decades of minor Catholic children in their care;etc. Hopefully Senator Sessions will be intellectually and legally experienced enough [from his former days as Alabama's Attorney General and before] to thoroughly grill her concerning her substantial legal rulings, and to shed light on her obvious liberalness. Even if Republicans can't stop her nomination due to their inadequate numbers, they have to at least use this committee hearing to paint a picture for average Americans of how radically liberal [and detrimental to our way of life] that this woman is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree that this nomination must be fought. But I do not agree that this fight should be no-holds-barred as other Commentators seem to be advocating. Already, on other American Spectator threads, I have read attacks on saint sonia because she is ‘frumpy, middle-aged, unmarried and has no kids.’ Another point of attack is her diabetes. This kind of garbage has no place in this debate and will quickly lose us the hearts and minds of the very people we are hoping to convince of the rightness of our cause. We must keep our opposition to her legal decisions, published opinions, even her provable recorded comments, that is we must be prepared to prove that the tape was not modified or enhanced other than to boost the sound and that the person speaking is indeed her.
Recently, I was in a restaurant where the Men’s and Women’s rooms were next to each other. As I was entering the one, I noticed a lady who looked remarkably like saint sonia exiting the other. She caught my attention because there was a piece of parchment stuck to the bottom of her left shoe. A few minutes later, I noticed what seemed to be that same piece of parchment on the restaurant floor and that it appeared to have some handwriting on it. Curious, I picked it up. THE LEGEND OF JEWISH SORCERY
THE anomalous position of the Jew in the modern world is but a latter-day version of the fate that has dogged his footsteps ever since he wandered forth among strange and hostile peoples. In no time and place, however, was his status—and his plight—so manifestly unique as in medieval Europe. The essence of that uniqueness lay in his ambiguous relationship to the Christian society in which he led his precarious existence, on the one hand influenced by all the objective forces which molded his environment, on the other, shut off from that environment by insurmountable walls of suspicion and animosity. His wilful persistence in his religious and cultural "difference" from the intolerant Christian civilization of the day, the dogmatic enmity fostered by the Church, his minority status coupled with an effective economic competition with his non-Jewish neighbors, all these combined to create an attitude of envy and hatred. But these alone do not tell the whole story; we must admit a further element into the psychological complex which determined the attitude of Christian toward Jew—an element which today has lost its force in the composition of anti-Semitism, but which in the Middle Ages loomed very large. For it contributed the emotion of fear, even of superstitious dread, in an age when superstition was the prevailing faith not alone of the masses, but of many of their leaders as well.

Hi Guys
Please keep in mind that discussions like this one are going on all across the country.
Maybe...just maybe...the challenges you guys are throwing up, will encourage some Senators to "man up". Thank youse (smile)
Even our local whack jobs serve a wonderful purpose. They do draw the hard line between reasoned debate and advocacy on the one hand, and bitter, stupid, outbursts on the other.

Dave Matthews.
It's a part of their one trick Poney, they all gang up, and with doing that they expect you to give up giving up is for fools and failures. Which is what they are. Paid up members of a Zionist Club, their only god is Satan the Devil, your are not fighting mortal men, but Principalities of Satan. These are no ordinary whores of Babylon. These are the servants of Satan.
Ever seen the Omen, the film? and the dog protecting Satan, it is like these people protecting the Republican Party, and none of them has a thing to gain. Because Both Parties representatives are picked to serve Satans Kingdom. But they think they will gain something, all they have to get is death, because the rewards of sin is DEATH. You have to be the EXORCIST of these people.
Be aware of them because they are paid up members of EVIL, and I am not joking.
Wake up or die| 5.29.09 @ 1:20PM
Anybody that does not go with their plan is either killed, mysteriously. Or their career distroyed, I would advise all smart thinking people to leave America, or shair in he plauges. Some are doing jus that. Getting out while they can, take no part in her evil becacus when it comes back it will come back 7 times what she dished out to the world. The Blood of the innocent lives, like in the Omen Satans children dont care who protected them. If you worship Satan you must be willing to sacrifice for him.
Christ who was without sin died to save us from ourselves, but be have fallen, and fallen, and fallen back into sin, because the temptation of the American worthless dollar is too much to resist.
Printed and minted by an evil family who has never been ordited, because Satan runs the world, and is answerable to no man.
They plan to up the dose in your water supply to cause you to become brain dead.
Soldiers with the prospect of being mentally ill living under American bridges are killing themselves. Many more who has never seen war, except on TV, will also kill themselves. The future looks too grim. Guns in American hands many think it's to protect themselves, it the very weap[ons they will use to take their own lives and that of their families.
No mortal man can fight what I have seen, the Bible says who can battle with the best, the only people who can is who knows who you are dealing with. These are no mortal man, you have to be clothed in Christ himself with information. Read Mathew, don't read anything eles because that is the warning. Christ came and warned the Jews but they had him killed. I am not anti semetic, but know enough to know who is semetic.
The Government is nothing more than another arm of SATAN. Republican or Democrats if you think both sides is not paid up member of the same club you don't need to read your bible.
God Help us all.

She will be confirmed. There are enough spineless Republicans to gurantee that. Everyone one should reference Thomas Sowell's column of today re Edmund Burke. The future is clear before us. However, conservatives can and should make a statement here. Like Cato our final act should be one of defiance in the name of Liberty. A dark night of tyranny is all too close. Let us not go quietly. If we are remembered for this hour, future generations may yet rediscover freedom and restore it to the "land of the brave". God help us all.

David Mathews.
The Real Jews and the Arabs are half brothers and sisters. Both sons and daughters of Abraham.
The real Jews have lived in harmony for many centuries. The Russian Ashkenazi Jews who adopted this faith are the same as all Americans and Europeans on the streets today, they have no Jewish Blood in them. Any one who speak about it they claim you are anti-semetic. In truth they are not semetic. They are the ones who are anti-semetic, because they hate all the real jews and Arabs who are semetic. That is a FACT.
Let no one insult you for standing up to honesty, because that is how they banded togeather to kill Christ. They speak of global warming, yet the climate is the coolest it's been in two centuries. Do not trust these people, the Ice caps is melting because of acid in the atmosphear, which is causing illness in people. And the wars using Depleted Uranium is causing the levels of cancer to rise in the population. Obesity is due to growth harmones in beef, and milk. All of which comes back to greed.
America is Bankrupt due to the same thing Greed.
F..k you as long as I have enough for myself, don't care about the America they pray to every day, that is just for show.
The food we give to the poor is what we don't want it's diseased. America is the whore of Babylon. A Prostitute to Israel and Isreael a Pimp for the world.
Its full of evil and if you don't see it, you're blind.
Every thing is for sale, pornography, images of children there is nothing of any value to these people, they are willing to sell people for paper. It's too nasty to think about.
They will not stop till all you own is theirs, it's all about greed. Your house belongs to the Bank, your Business, your life because of Credit, they will just put you in the work house if you can't pay to work off your debt.
Do not borrow nothing from the Banks. Live within your means, don't follow the hoax, it's there to catch you. The Bible says lead me not into temptation, all that is in this world belongsa to SATAN, you own nothing. It's all about a Satanic system, don't get involved more than you have to.

Hi NavyBrat:
I agree. I have never been able to fathom the enduring nature of this hate.
When I was younger (not in my god persona) I learned about WWII and thought, wow - thank god (myself!) that can never happen again. Surely humanity could NEVER repeat that homicidal spree.
Of course it didn't take me long to be disabused of that notion. While genocide is always on the menu somewhere on our UN-protected planet, for some reason Jews are always the Blue Plate Special.
I think Obama would just as soon feed Israel to Iran as he would feed Chrysler bondholders to the sharks.
I do hope all of the Jews who gleefully voted for this sociopath eventually understand they were voting for their own extinction.

"Now beat it before we send mysterious Bilderburger aromatherapy Israeli assassins for you."
Now THAT'S funny!!!
G*d. I just shake my head at all the gullible Jewish folks who voted for this closet Jew hater. Not like we couldn't tell from his sitting in the Hamas & Hezbollah supporting, Louis I Hate Jews Farrahkonvict -loving church for 2o years. Oh, & let's not forget his good dinner buddy & babysitter, the OTHER mild mannered English professor, Hamas apologist, & avowed Israel & Jew hater, Rashid Khalidi. Yes indeed. What a "friend of the Jews" he is.
My Aunt (Dad's little sis) is a liberal Jew, as is her husband, as are their kids. My one cousin works on the Hill for John Dingle. I like to tease her about politics, as she is a "true believer" in big government solutions for all. I damn near endangered my close relationship with her when I pressed her as to WHY on G*d's green Earth (YOUR green Earth, snark, snark), she'd support such an anti Semite for pres. I laid out everything that I listed above. She would have NONE of it. Willful ignorance is the only explanation I have for it.
Since my Dad was my Aunt's big (and only) brother, she & him used to go back & forth on politics. They never agreed, but she always respected him. So whenever the tough gets going in the battles with the DC clan, I can usually stop the game with, "well, it was good enough for Dad, so it's good enough for me." End of discussion. Works every time. Poor, misguided souls, they are. I haven't a scintilla of sympathy for them if & when they start bellyaching about this clown they elected.
Obama Knows the issue| 5.29.09 @ 2:56PM
Obama will never allow any thing to happen to the people of Israel, one they are not Jews, they are Europeans from Russia around the 12th Century.
If they were Jews they would be people of colour, which they are not they are Eastern Europeans, Ignorance is a part of the problem we have here today. Till people get it into their thick SKULL that these people in Israel are not Jews. If they were Jews causing this amount of problems in the world History tell us they would have been slaughtered, because no one would put up with it.
These people are in Palestine to fullfill a cirtain purpose. The Real Jews don't want them there, nor does the Palestinians, nor does their Arab neighbours. If they were attacked the whole of Europe and America would come down on the attackers.
America pays more to Israel than it's own people in America. That will not change anytime soon, till America runs out of money to support them. When that happens they will come and take over the whole of America. And infact the world, because the purpose they serve is to get the West to Bankrupt it's self protecting them, and right now they have nearly accomplished that.
They have caused man to kill his brother, and when they are done man might not exist at all. Because they have been fooled, it was a trick and it works. The arms industry and the Fake Bankers will own land, oilfields, Companies, whole countries that went Bankrupt and had to give their countries to them. And the people becomes slaves to them, because they are worthless fools.
Infact I have come to terms that I don't blame them, if you are foolish enough not to think for your selves you deserve all you get.

Boy, NavyBrat- conjure Farrakahn's name and voila! He weighs in! :-)
I don't get it either. But then I don't get liberalism in general. There is truly a suicidal aspect to it that mystifies me, because if it is carried to its logical extreme, we are left with either a Tower of Babel, Sodom and Gomorrah or some combination thereof.
And it stuns me that all of my colleagues and/or friends (believe it or not, I'm in the arts) STILL refuse to see Obama for the megalomaniac he is.
He is all about the destruction of this country's moral backbone, the shattering of long-standing institutions, the obliteration of the individual human spirit and the plundering of wealth.
All so he can become the oppressor and dole out the spoils to those HE thinks are worthy. It is utterly astonishing that this is happening in our country. It's insanity, and history will not be forgiving.
Whether some of the clowns posting here today want to call them Jews or not, Israel is a FRIEND to the US, and its demise will not lessen the seething caldren of hatred in that region one iota.
As for the Jews in this country, I don't know. maybe it's because of secularization, intellectualization and perhaps a bit of shame feeding a Stockholm Syndrome - all of which adds up to a lethal dose of self loathing. I really don't get it.
What a tragedy Obama is - all the way around.

This is my first time to this web-site, I came here from realclearpolitics.com to read the article about filibustering Sotomayer. Whoo! you guys are crazy, to insult and then give up on the hispanic vote is to insult and give up on winning elections, which is fine by me, I vote Democrat.
The fact that you think the American electorate is just plain stupid for voting for Obama and that additionally it's Acorn's fault is the heart of why the Republicans are out of power. Republicans and their leader Rush Limbaugh insult everyone who does not agree with them by calling them stupid and refuse to admit when their platform isn't appealing to people who vote.
More people in American voting history tuned in to watch the Republican National Convention last fall and again for the debates, yet when after listening carefully to both sides they rejected the Republican candidate it was blamed on everyone's stupidity and ACORN.
I say to you the same thing I say to muslim Americans: denounce your radicals or else everyone thinks you must agree with them. RNC= Rush,Newt,Cheney and peple who vote don't support their ideas, opinions or agendas.

This article is yet one more reason Mr. Hilyer is rapidly becoming one of my favorite columnists. His blend of objective rationality and passionate advocacy are rare and difficult to do well, yet he consistentlys achieves it.
This article is another sample. I confess I think it bordering on the impossible that the Sotomayer confirmation can be stopped, but if there is enough public outrage (a fast diminishing quality on any topic, so bludgeoned is it by one after the next) it's could happen. In any case, it's always worthwhile to expose and espouse the truth. One never knows what effect it might have on the future.

Spoken like someone who's never listened to Rush Limbaugh, but has "heard enough" to know all about him. In other words, congratulations: You are a typical liberal. Ignorant, judgmental and callow.
Yeah, holding someone accountable for the racist things they've said- that's hate, alright. What a hater Rush is! If Sam Alito had said what Sotomayor said about whites being superior you'd already have lynched him.
It is YOU who are the party of hate.
The reason Obama won can be summed up in two words: George Bush.

Here again that ACORN brownshirt Mathews is fouling these conversations with his triumphalist invective and name-calling.
As for La Sotomayor - she is a typical product of affirmative action (just like Abu Hussein from Kenya who picked her), carefully nurtured by tenured marxists at Princeton and Yale (just like Abu Hussein, our Community Organizer-in-Chief). Having been exposed to 8 years of marxist-leninist indoctrination before my escape from that communist hell, I can predict with 100% accuracy all her future rulings. With a racist like her on the bench we will be able to enjoy the aroma of those emanations from the penumbras of the Constitution. As for the so-called Republican wimps in the Senate - they have learned nothing about the Democrat high-tech lynching used against Bork and Thomas to be able to repeat it as they should.
Warrior| 5.29.09 @ 5:27PM
Mr. Hillyer:
I would challenge a couple of your assertions. First of all that any significant number of the American public would even find her statement the least troublesome. From the last presidential election, we have a candidate who sat twenty years and prayed at the altar of black liberation theology. One of my favorite passages, "...where white folks' greed runs a world in need." No one cared. Again, her statements will be buried just as the Pelosi ranting on how the CIA has lied to her fades into yesterdays news.
Next, even if some conservatives decide to fight. Collins and Snowe will be having coffee with Obama. There will be no fillibuster.
You also assume the democrats can be reasoned with. Let's face it, there is not one democrat senator that will break rank. The only possibility could be if Benedict Arlen is truly pissed off he can get back at Harry Reid for hanging him out to dry. Even then, they will not enough support for a fillibuster.
You can't "bork" this nominee. It's only Republicans that negative information can be given any traction. Hell, they kept making stuff up about Sarah Palin and it got more traction than any facts about BHO. We have a tax cheat in charge the congressional ways and means committe, a tax cheat in charge of the IRS, a sheet wearing member of the KKK, an impeached judge... all part of the democrat party. Now, you believe a rallying cry of racist and unqualified can be hung on this nominee. Nice try and good luck.
Siegfried X| 5.29.09 @ 5:33PM
Republicans took a dive. The Democrats haven't thrown a single political punch, yet the Republicans are rolling on the mat like they've been knocked out.
Those Republicans who vote for Sotomayor will be doing it for only one reason: they support her. I expect about 3/4 of Republicans will vote for her, giving her 90%.

James| 5.29.09 @ 6:09PM
Here's the problem for the GOP - numbers. The Dems have them to push through the nomination, and the GOP doesn't have the arthimatic to stop it.
Sotomayor's comments and past decisions prove she does not deserve the "consent" of the Senate to a lifetime appointment on the Supreme Court, but Dems will vote for her anyway.
Plus, if the GOP were to somehow knock this nomination down, who's next on the short list better? Wood, Napolitano, Kagan? All are as bad or worse than Sotomayor.
Sotomayor will be a marginal justice. She won't be able to spare with Scalia, Robert, Alito or Thomas pack and survive. She'll probably be a run of the mill liberal, which is what we can expect from any Obama appointment.
The GOP's job in this process is to prove, through fair, courteous and enlightening hearings, how much of a judicial anarchist the president has proffered and that it can expect more of the same with another 4 years of his presidency. Then, when it comes time to vote, the caucus should vote no.
This is not, as some say, a teaching moment for the GOP. This is a time to take a principled stand, even if its effect loss on this one, and allow the public to remember that our constitution is too important to be left in the hands of more Sotomayors.
Mike| 5.29.09 @ 6:42PM
I'm a white guy and I'm not offended by her comments, nor do I think they are racist in the least. Injudicious and informed by her personal narrative? Yes.

President Barack Obama on Friday personally sought to deflect criticism about Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor, who finds herself under intensifying scrutiny for saying in 2001 that a female Hispanic judge would often reach a better decision than a white male judge. Judge Sotomayor has earned a reputation as a sharp, outspoken jurist, someone who does not let powerful interests bully, rush or cow her into a decision. Her judicial opinions, if you bother to read them, are marked by diligence, depth and unflashy competence. They are usually models of modern judicial craftsmanship, which prizes careful attention to the facts in the record and a methodical application of layers of legal principles. The hysteria here, generated by this site and by Fox & Rush and their ilk makes zero sense in light of the facts about this judge. We have knobs like Delay and Gingrich calling her a racist on national TV(!?) So she uses her real world, real life experience to help guide her legal decisions. Big whoop. We could use more of that. Ivory tower judges don't necessarily see how their rulings affect everyday Americans. Republicans, even Joe Blow truck driver type Republicans, would like to load the court(s), it seems, with only pro-business judges. That makes no sense to me. Shouldn't the courts strike a balance between the needs of business and of individuals?

Sadly, there will be a shooting Revolution before long and folks like you will cry that Liberty and Freedom, so hard won, are archaic and need to be dispensed with. Oh wait, you're doing that now. When the Revolution comes, Mike, remember to move out of the area and keep low.
Mike| 5.29.09 @ 8:35PM
Richard Baker - When the shooting revolution, as you call it, comes, you'll be the one surprised. There are a LOT more folks who think like me than you. At least 100% more. So I'm not worried at all.
Mike| 5.29.09 @ 8:40PM
What's sad is that I used to vote REP/CON about as often as I voted DEM/LIB. I voted the candidate - not the party. In order - McGovern, Ford, Reagan, Mondale, Bush I, Perot, Clinton, Nader, Kerry, O'Bama. But no more. REPS/CONS are so far over to the right that they've basically fallen off the earth. And they get stranger every day as they purge their party of all who do not agree with them 100%. Wait until 2010 when another 5 or 6 DEMS go to the Senate and another 25 or so to the House.
Richard Baker| 5.29.09 @ 9:02PM
Mike:
You'd be fighting for your own enslavement while the rest of us would be fighting for Liberty and Freedom as Americans. I'm always amazed that folks like you think that government is your friend. See you on the barricades, pal. Oh, Mike, 100% more means you and one other. A formidable enemy, to be sure
Smitty| 5.29.09 @ 9:06PM
Please, little Mike--go away. We don't want to hear your whining and complaining about how the big mean republican party left you--because we don't care. Weak weenies like you belong in the dummocrap party; stay there. NRA consists of mostly center-right Americans, not leftist loonies like you. You'd better be worried, moron.

PinkToeNails: The Just Evil poster is one of yours. She's a vicious lying Marxist like you and little Mike. This is the America you have built.
The Fop| 5.29.09 @ 9:17PM
Not one prominent Republican has said boo about the strong arming of Chrysler's bondholders, lest they risk taking on a "popular" President. Our entire popular culture is controlled by liberals. They portray liberalism as the norm and conservatism as a troubling deviation from the norm. Maybe every last Republican needs to be voted out of office in order for the party to get the message that there's nothing to be gained by living in fear of false stereotypes. We need a whole new party of Dick Cheneys. Maybe we have to hit rock bottom for that to happen.
william mony| 5.29.09 @ 9:26PM
Mike,
get real. the liberal is not prepared for the shooting war that is coming. not at all. dream on. we will have states that will be no longer part if the union as we are bankrupt as a nation; plus the way we are headed, you can live in the peoples republic, broke and serving your god obama, in a sector of the country that doesn't make anything but government. how are you going to eat and manufacture in all those government buildings when the rest of the US does send their hard earned tax dollars in? goodbye and good luck in hell.
william mony
william mony| 5.29.09 @ 9:34PM
oh, and mike, please realize your bb gun your dad got you before you got liberalism disease, or that one .22 rifle and your buddy what that buck knife, doesn't count against individuals like myself, trained, and ready. You would not make it a week without your starbucks and sushi. dream on.
william mony
zanne| 5.29.09 @ 9:48PM
Mike, you deserve the nightmare ahead. I don't. But, I will think of you often and it will help me survive it. Because it is going to hurt you bad. Dreams and hopes gone. Lights out..sleep sweet. Many nights ahead you won't have that luxury.
Mike| 5.29.09 @ 11:15PM
william mony - Keep dreaming. Your vaunted revolution will fizzle like a wet firecracker. You all sound like the neighborhood bully who's so scared of his own shadow he has to talk like he's big and bad. I have no worries at all in dealing with you. BTW - had to laugh since I've never been to Starbucks and hate sushi. Just more stereotyping by the world champs at that - conservatives.
Mike| 5.29.09 @ 11:18PM
But what is most hilarious is that many of you folks really believe what you say. You just don't get it - you're so far in the minority that you're becoming jokes. I had similar discussions last fall - anyone who was rational knew the election was over by OCT 15 or so. Sarah Palin clinched it for Obama. But I know plenty of CONS who were "SURE!!!" that come election day McCain would win. Keep dreaming just like they did.
Mike| 5.29.09 @ 11:20PM
Smitty - the REP party didn't leave me - it left the sane world. Just like you seem to have done based on your comment.

Someone posted above that “Republicans, even Joe Blow truck driver type Republicans, would like to load the court(s), it seems, with only pro-business judges.” Really? First I am not a republi-con, and I don’t hate obumassiah. Jesus commanded us to love our enemies. And obumassiah is clearly the enemy of everything that made this country the greatest country on earth. This makes him my enemy. However, any political party that even takes the pontificating of Colon Bowel (not my term, but I do like it) with anything other than a shot of bourbon is simply doomed. I do not want the courts loaded with only pro-business judges. I want the courts loaded with pro-U.S. Constitution judges, and saint sonia is clearly not one of these as she most certainly voted to deny an American Citizen his Constitutional Rights in the Rizzi case. Now don’t feed me that tripe about there were two other judges voting the party line. They are not nominees to the supreme court. she is. All that matters is how she ruled.
Mike| 5.29.09 @ 11:42PM
One final thought - no matter how you, Limbaugh, Hannity (now there's a real doofus) or others try and spin it, the fact remains that Sotomayor is no liberal. Not even close. She's a moderate and a minimalist. A judicial activist? Not at all. Now Scalia, there's an activist. The biggest since Warren. But you'll never admit to that.
Liza| 5.30.09 @ 1:24AM
Mike, you crazy fascist liberal--not only is Judge Sotomayor a leftist, she's a bigot, too. Like you, dumbo. Go back to your mommy's basement or she'll put you on timeout, azzwipe. Oh, thank God for Rush Limbaugh, a true American Patriot! GO RUSH!!
Rick| 5.30.09 @ 3:20AM
Those who are using Sotomayor's Berkeley speech to argue that she is a racist or a bigot are tremendously dishonest people. These people are counting on the majority to not bother to read the speech.
Sotomayor's statements were utterly benign and surely non-controversial to the vast majority of the public.
If you have not read the speech in its entirety and you choose to argue that she is a racist, your opinion is worth nothing.
If you have read the speech in its entirety and you continue to choose to argue that she is a racist, not only is your opinion worthless, you should be totally and completely rebuked.
Judge Sotomayor is owed an apology.
William| 5.30.09 @ 3:26AM
The Republican cave in will confirm that it is a dead party of zero relevance, ability or loyalty to its base.
I am not wholly comfortable with either the Constitutional Party or the Libertarians, but either is an improvement on the rotting corpse that is the establishment GOP. Let the Menshevik GOP be buried.

"REPS/CONS are so far over to the right that they've basically fallen off the earth."
Anyone who makes that statement and purports to be over fifty is either and idiot or a liar. The republican party is about the same as it has always been. Life issues remain, be it abortion or stem cells. Gay marriage is opposed by even the most liberal of people, including the one. Fiscal restraint remains a centerpiece, well, should remain , a centerpiece of the party. Every American wants a clean environment, the difference being greenies want to stifle capitalism (as part of their world view) with distortion and fear-mongering...ie environmental extremism.
The party hasn't changed, the majority of the country remain center right, though pathetically unengaged, Obamas election was a product of our ever present American Idol, Youtube culture and the fringe continues to be given room to play. I for one moved from the democrat party to a left leaning independent. ....HELP!
Mary| 5.30.09 @ 10:09AM
Go, Liz, go!
Notice the leftist can’t answer the question. The salient point: “better than a white boy!” she won’t even get near. By contrast, her Republican counterpart’s thoughts are well considered, ordered, and passionate.
There’s never been a better time or place to expose the fetid underbelly of bean-counting by race. Her triumph isn't anymore impressive than Ricci's. His has a poignancy that will not be denied.
Haas is good too. Was General Colin Powell really a leaker?
A little more from the Judge's Berkeley speech which reads more like an agenda item in an HR seminar, than thoughtful commentary. Emphasis is mine:
"I also hope that by raising the question today of what difference having more Latinos and Latinas on the bench will make will start your own evaluation. For people of color and women lawyers, what does and should being an ethnic minority mean in your lawyering? For men lawyers, what areas in your experiences and attitudes do you need to work on to make you capable of reaching those great moments of enlightenment which other men in different circumstances have been able to reach. For all of us, how do change the facts that in every task force study of gender and race bias in the courts, women and people of color, lawyers and judges alike, report in significantly higher percentages than white men that their gender and race has shaped their careers, from hiring, retention to promotion and that a statistically significant number of women and minority lawyers and judges, both alike, have experienced bias in the courtroom?"
What a mediocre speech. And what a narrow mind. Her speech makes me think of a great line: "the herd inside the pen." I think it's part of a poem by D.H. Lawrence, but I'm not sure.
Somebody should have forced her to minor in Comparative Literature. Then she might have really been able to leave a mark for "La Raza."
Ned| 5.30.09 @ 10:20AM
If we found some magic potion to cause our Senators to grow a set this would work. But would they rub it on?
Instead we should start a huge whispering campaign that Sonia is against abortion. Make her come out and use code language stating she is a supporter of abortion. Then the shit might hit the fan, or at least force the Democrats to pull its plug.
Siegfried X| 5.30.09 @ 11:09AM
"For men lawyers, what areas in your experiences and attitudes do you need to work on "
Yes, Sotomayor's whole speech is racist and sexist. Her whole speech leads to her conclusion that white men can't judge.
That particular quote is based on Sotomayor's idea that white men are bigoted sexist pigs by nature, but a few, a very few of them may "capable of reaching those great moments of enlightenment" in which they don't discriminate.
It's raw bigotry.

One last comment - What continually surprises me is how self-deluding many people are. There has been a REP Pres for 28 years out of the last 40. There has been a REP House for 12 years of the last 14. There's been a REP Senate about half of the last decade. But your beloved causes - anti-Gay rights, anti-abortion, anti-affirmative action, religion in schools, reduced government, etc. - are nowhere. Maybe you should come to the conclusion that YOU ARE OUT OF STEP with the majority. And you are. Believe it or not - and I'm sure you won't.

You’ve seen the viciousness he speaks of right here on this blog. And he’s absolutely right: the writing on the right side of the blogosphere is much better than that on the left. And I think he’s right about that judgment being scientifically verifiable. You’ve also seen pseudo-intellects here who compare Ann Coulter to Jonathan Swift or champion an esoteric meaning or origin (maybe even manufactured or drawn from questionable scholarship) of a word in order to impugn the motives or question the intellect of one using it. Gnostic poseurs.

I don’t know if Obama has the power to destroy the US. And by that I don’t mean that that is what he’s after. I only know that he’s in charge of a weakened America, and I don’t believe he has affection for her. He looks at her clinically, as far as I can see. And he offered no opposing descriptors of America at her finest, when she hasn't been "arrogant, dismissive and derisive."
America is weakened for a whole bunch of reasons. In one of MP Hannan's recent vids, he forthrightly tells the Brits that they have only themselves to blame. Same goes for us.

Ricci will win his case (5-4 , because there has to be dissent cover for Sotomayor), and I'll bet dimes to doughnuts that either Thomas or Roberts write the majority opinion (probably Thomas.)The term 'opportunity' has meant 'outcome' ever since the Bakke case. Soto gets reversed more often than the left coast's 9th Circuit. Not only is this nominee a lesbian, she is a full fledged butch dyke in the traditional Marxist understanding of such "butches" as exemplified by Marxist Ken Kesey in his characterization of Nurse RAtchett, a vicious, hate filled, murdering, man hating biological female who tried to facilitate the murder of men in mental institutions in the book, and movie, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. I am an attractive female who was single for many years, and because of this I was presumed to be a lesbian and hit upon by dozens of butch dykes. THey nauseated and disgusted me beyond belief - and no, there is no such thing as homophobia - that concept, dreamed up by Freud, is completely discredited in the sciences except for the homosexual supremicists. The practices and behaivor of butch dykes are utterly abhorrent and if the American public knew what they were, the tide would soon turn against lesbians. THis woman's bullying, vicious, diatribes, her hatred of men, of any color, her supposed superiority, her communist beliefs, Americans should rise up and reject her as an incompetent, mentally ill, dyke, narcissist, man hating, feminine hating homosexual pervert.
Devon| 5.30.09 @ 9:27PM
Patricia, how do you know that Sotomayor is a lesbian? Besides that, I hear you about butch lesbians--I've had my share of bad experiences with them. Disgusting is a good word to describe those encounters; more offensive than any I've had with men.
Mary| 5.30.09 @ 11:17PM
I’ve always liked John Derbyshire. He’s a guy who is attached to what is true. He’s a lot smarter than I am, but I’m attached to what is true, too. I admit to being very strongly attached to Anglo-Saxon culture, accomplishment. I’m also very strongly attached to Roman culture and accomplishment; those are my roots. But Anglo-Saxon culture is a culture that understands the strength and beauty of woman. And raises it for the world to see. The beautiful Brits and their Queens. Who doesn’t love the Virgin Elizabeth? Who? She was magnificent.
We haven’t traveled and are not traveling toward a color-blind or ethnicity-blind society. One is not possible for the reasons so clearly outlined in Sotomayor’s speech. The rich can never really help the poor and the white man can’t really solve the black man’s problem for him. The people who can best help the poor are those who climbed out of poverty by dint of their will, their sacrifice and their suffering. They are the people who know best when to extend compassion, and when to withhold it. There’s rarely poverty where there isn’t defect. Those who were poor and did climb out know that. They know that pathology can’t ever be coddled. And they know that envy is wrong, and status comes less from what you’re worth than what you’ve accomplished, on your own. True self-regard is not reserved for “high-achievers.”
What’s happening with race bean-counting is a reversal in which power is acquired and maintained for the benefit of the race being aided. That’s really not hard to understand.
Homogenous communities are more peaceful, harmonious, stable because values are shared. Robert Putnam wrote a book called Bowling Alone that tackles the subject of diversity.
AG Holder wants an honest conversation about race. That won’t happen because that’s something that has to occur naturally. It has to spring from organic and unforced acquaintance, and the freedom to say what you think.
I think back to my high school years. I was in the lavatory and I was brushing my hair and this black schoolmate asked me if she could touch my hair. I said sure. It was long and she drew it through her fingers and I’m assuming, wished her hair was similar. We were acquaintances, not friends. But we both had the sense that we could speak freely to one another. It was a different time, and it’s a better time now for her present day sister. And I’m glad because even at 17 I felt bad that Carrie hated her own hair.
I transferred to a public school in 10th grade. In homeroom, one morning, a jock picked me up and sat me atop a small closet. I could have jumped down without hurting myself, but not without my skirt rising to a very revealing height. A black schoolmate, I didn’t know him very well at all, offered his arms to me like a Mom does a small child. He grabbed me underneath my arms and brought me down. His name was Johnny. We never conversed a whole lot after that, and he always winked at me when he saw me, as if to say, I had your back, didn’t I?
Lastly, when I was in kindergarten my teacher instructed us to form a circle and hold hands. This little boy named Felix offered me his hand. I noticed his palm was a lot pinker than mine, and I refused to give him my hand because I thought holding hands with him would feel squishy. My teacher noticed it right away and she grabbed both of our hands and bound them together. Once I noticed it felt like mine, my apprehension vanished. But my apprehension was not due to anything sinister.
Only a natural coming together can produce true friendship.
A Black man can never undo the emasculation of slavery via give aways like affirmative action. Undoing the damage of the nonsense that emanates from the NEA and like-minded organizations, and their nitwittery, would be much more productive. The emasculation wasn’t an actual emasculation, and that very much matters. And history never begins with your own suffering; that's a really important lesson to learn.

COBURN: You know, I think at times during these hearings you have been unfairly criticized or characterized as that you don’t care about the less fortunate, you don’t care about the little guy, you don’t care about the weak or the innocent.
Can you comment just about Sam Alito, and what he cares about, and let us see a little bit of your heart and what’s important to you in life?
ALITO: Senator, I tried to in my opening statement, I tried to provide a little picture of who I am as a human being and how my background and my experiences have shaped me and brought me to this point.
ALITO: I don’t come from an affluent background or a privileged background. My parents were both quite poor when they were growing up.
And I know about their experiences and I didn’t experience those things. I don’t take credit for anything that they did or anything that they overcame.
But I think that children learn a lot from their parents and they learn from what the parents say. But I think they learn a lot more from what the parents do and from what they take from the stories of their parents lives.
And that’s why I went into that in my opening statement. Because when a case comes before me involving, let’s say, someone who is an immigrant — and we get an awful lot of immigration cases and naturalization cases — I can’t help but think of my own ancestors, because it wasn’t that long ago when they were in that position.
And so it’s my job to apply the law. It’s not my job to change the law or to bend the law to achieve any result.
But when I look at those cases, I have to say to myself, and I do say to myself, "You know, this could be your grandfather, this could be your grandmother. They were not citizens at one time, and they were people who came to this country."
When I have cases involving children, I can’t help but think of my own children and think about my children being treated in the way that children may be treated in the case that’s before me.
And that goes down the line. When I get a case about discrimination, I have to think about people in my own family who suffered discrimination because of their ethnic background or because of religion or because of gender. And I do take that into account. When I have a case involving someone who’s been subjected to discrimination because of disability, I have to think of people who I’ve known and admire very greatly who’ve had disabilities, and I’ve watched them struggle to overcome the barriers that society puts up often just because it doesn’t think of what it’s doing — the barriers that it puts up to them.
So those are some of the experiences that have shaped me as a person.
COBURN: Thank you.
Daisy| 5.31.09 @ 12:06AM
Slavery was terribly destructive to the black family, but so is the Liberal Welfare State which has supplanted black men as fathers, making them dispensable. It's a terrible tragedy to see what has become of too many black males. Liberals will never admit that their 'War on Poverty' has been a complete and utter failure.

I recall a few years back there was a movie named 'White Men Can't Jump'. Ignoring the blatant racism of this title, I presume this alleged lack of athletic ability is why there aren't many 'whites' in the NBA. This is so unfair. I demand that professional basketball set aside at least half the positions on their squads for members of the white race. They also need more women. So filling a quarter of their rosters with white females will surely benefit American Society. First the NBA then the NFL then MLB. While we’re at it we need to eliminate professional women’s tennis and golf. We must stop having separate women’s events in the Olympics. Then restrooms. We no longer tolerate ‘Colored Only’ facilities. Why should we tolerate ‘Men’ or ‘Women’ restrictions? Plus what about those who might be neither male nor female or those who are both. Which may they use? These are clearly sexist and violate everything that is pure and fair. Imagine some poor 10 year old gender challenged child doing the gotta-go dance and crying outside a local fast food emporium because it has nowhere to pee. Simply outrageous! Such discrimination has no place in America. I certainly hope we will change these inequities.

As always, VDH is great: Lost in the Labyrinth of Race:
***And how does affirmative action-or even the fuzzy notion of “diversity”- adjudicate all this without mirror-imaging the statisticians of the Old Confederacy who could precisely calibrate the 1/16 drop of black blood? The university where I taught was full of South Americans and Europeans with Spanish surnames that allowed their various departments to be considered “ethnically diverse,” while others, having Russian émigrés, or the foreign born from New Delhi, Israel, and Egypt, struggled to satisfy the dictates of diversity czars.
In other words, affirmative action, and the racial identity politics that fuel it, are swamped by their inherent racialist contradictions-and made irrelevant by the dynamism of popular culture of the last three decades in which intermarriage, assimilation, and integration have challenged the notion of racial fides itself.
What are we left then with?
A mess. And a rather mean and nasty mess at that.***

ACORN's FasciSSocialist Psychosis-suffering, envy-motivated brownshirted deviate "David Mathews," so perfectly projectile projects that pack's psychopathology as to appear to have picked himself up a gig trolling conservative sites upon which to spew his hatred and rage. Way to go teabagger!
But a history lesson or two might come in handy before said self-and-own-culture-loathing, "David Mathews," clocks back on.
That is, before he again suggests conservatives and/or Republicans are, like the ludicrous Left, inherently racist, he aught take into account that thus far conservative Republicans' accomplishments include Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation. and that in order to reach it, every Republican in Congress voted to free all slaves and every Democrat voted against.
And that Republicans under Lincoln’s leadership also fought and won the War Between the States. And that, at the end of that war, anticipating the “Democrats” return to power, the Republicans in congress unanimously voted for what became the 13th Amendment to the Constitution – and ended slavery.
Republicans in Congress passed the first ever Civil Rights Act which made Americans of and extended equal rights to people of all races, all colors, and all creeds. Note that Republicans said all people, all colors, all creeds were equal, not just freed slaves. That’s the way Republicans thought then and that’s the way we think today. The Republican Party simply put in force the stated ideals of the Founding Fathers that stated that all men are created equal.
Republicans know all are created equal and that our equality comes not from government – but from Almighty God. We have simply always demanded of the government that it back up and to see to the fulfilling of God’s promise.
Concurrent with our party’s passing of the first Civil Rights Act; Republicans drafted another Constitutional Amendment, the Fourteenth, to extend even further the scope of our civil rights legislation. We extended the concepts of due process of law, and equal protection of the laws, to every state. Now, all the states -- even those whose governments were in the hands of “Democrats,” had to guard the civil rights of every American.
Thus the bedrock of America’s civil rights, the Constitution’s 14th Amendment’s guarantees of equal protection under the Law and of due process are a 100% Republican Party achievement. Every Republican voted for the 14th Amendment -- and EVERY congressional Democrat voted against it.
Three years later, in 1869, 98% of Republicans voted to guarantee blacks the right to vote and 97% of the Democrats voted against it.
Seven years later congressional Republicans wrote the 1875 Civil Rights Act, which guaranteed the right of equal access to all citizens in all public accommodations -- whether or not owned or controlled by the government. Eight years later the historically-habitually-racist Supreme Court declared the Act unconstitutional but the term “public accommodations” turned up again during passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which finally made Law of the original Republican Party legislation of 90 years earlier. Again in 1964, the Civil Rights Act was overwhelmingly supported and passed by congressional Republicans. Significantly more Republicans than Democrats passed the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
The “Democratic” Party’s opposition to Republican efforts to protect the civil rights of African-Americans lasted well into the 20th Century. In the South the Ku Klux Klan, the Democratic Party ‘s terrorist wing, essentially wiped out the Republican Party -- which recovered only after President Ronald Wilson Reagan’s 1980’s message of freedom and equality for all.
Until 1935, every black man in the house or in the senate was a Republican.
In 1872, the first black governor, Pinckney Pinchback, a great Republican, took office in Louisiana. In 1875 California was the first to have a Hispanic governor; the Republican, Romualdo Pacheco. Long before anybody heard of Cruz Bustamante.
The first Hispanic United States Senator was elected from New Mexico in 1928; the Republican, Octaviano Larrazolo.
Along the way Republicans also fought for women’s voting rights, while the “Democratic” Party opposed civil rights for women, too. Every suffragist -- including Susan B. Anthony, Lucretia Mott, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton – was a Republican and boasted of voting “straight Republican. Two great Republicans; Ida Wells and Mary Terrell, created the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the NAACP.
The first women delegates to a national party convention went to the Republican Convention. Democrats kept women out and Republicans let them participate fully. A Republican United States Senator from California, Aaron Sargent, wrote the women’s suffrage amendment and named it in honor of another great Republican, Susan B. Anthony.
Although Senator Sargent introduced the Susan B. Anthony Amendment in 1878, it did not, because Republicans lacked majorities and the Democrats kept voting against it, become the law of the land until 1920. But in 1916, Montana elected the Republican, Jeannette Rankin, to be the first woman to serve in the United States Congress.
In 1918, Republicans won majorities in both the House and the Senate and swiftly passed the Women’s Suffrage Amendment. And in 1920 every woman in America voted for the Republican, Warren Harding, who won in a landslide.
Meanwhile, in the face of the Democrats’ terrorist wing, the Ku Klux Klan’s continued activities in the South; many courageous Republicans were standing up nonetheless. One of them, openly Republican and drawing attention to his cause despite being opposed by the then and to this day inherently-racist “Democratic” Party, was Booker T. Washington, the illustrious educator who founded Alabama’s Tuskegee Institute. But when the Republican, Teddy Roosevelt, invited that distinguished American to dinner at the White House, the “Democratic” Party said loudly and on the public record that it was “a scandal,” was “outrageous,” and was “an atrocity.”
When, in 1947, the Republican owner of the Brooklyn Dodgers hired his fellow Republican, Jackie Robinson -- and Mr Robinson took to the field for his first game -- they integrated Major League Baseball. Mr Jackie Robinson, in addition to being a great athlete, a great Dodger, and a great American, was a great Republican -- and a very outspoken one.
In 1954 a Republican Chief Justice, who’d been appointed by the Republican then president, Dwight Eisenhower, wrote the Supreme Court’s Brown versus Board of Education decision that launched the modern civil rights movement. That Republican Chief Justice was the former Republican Governor of California and 1948 Republican candidate for Vice President: Earl Warren.
In 1957, three years after that momentous Republican-Party-supported decision, Republican President Eisenhower powered through his landmark Civil Rights Act. It’s worth noting that during the twenty years immediately before that, during the time of the so-richly-Soviet-agent-larded “Democratic” Party “administrations” of Roosevelt and Truman there was no civil rights activity whatsoever. The Republicans’ Civil Rights Act of 1957 was the first United States civil rights legislation in eighty years.
Then the 1960 Civil Rights Act was authored and introduced by yet another great Republican civil rights leader, Senator Everett Dirksen of Illinois, who must also be credited for the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. As Republican Leader in the Senate, where his party was in the minority, Senator Dirksen crafted the strategy that overcame tenacious “Democratic” Party opposition.
Democrats filibustered the 1964 Civil Rights Act and prevented a vote on the bill. But thanks to Dirksen’s leadership the Act passed. And, as has been the case with every piece of civil rights legislation in our nation’s history, it passed with overwhelming Republican support and in the face of the froth and foam flecked opposition – including from their murderouly terroristic wing, the Ku Klux Klan – of Democrats. The 1965 Voting Rights Act became law the following year, also because of the support of the Republicans,
The Republican Party meanwhile elected our nation’s the first Asian-American to the United States Senate: Hiram Fong of Hawaii. The first black Senator after Reconstruction was the Republican, Ed Brooke, from Massachusetts. Our first Asian-American federal judge was the Republican Herbert Choy, appointed to the United States Court of Appeals by the Republican President, Nixon.
The first woman on the Supreme Court was the Republican appointee, Sandra Day O’Connor who, before becoming a Supreme Court justice, was the first (Republican) female majority leader in a state legislature.
The first “Hispanic” cabinet member was President Ronald Reagan’s Secretary of Education, the Republican, Lauro Cavazos.
In 1976 the Republican, President Gerald Ford, repealed FDR’s notorious executive order which led to the World War II internment of 120,000 immigrant Japanese. (And to the theft, by “Democrats,” of their property)
And more recent Republican appointees include Justice Clarence Thomas, the former Chairman of the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission; son of British migrants (and long-time Republican Party and Bush-Family blind-spots occupant) -- Colin Powell, the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to the office of National Security Advisor and United States Secretary of State; Condoleezza Rice, the first woman to serve as National Security Advisor and the first African-American female Secretary of State. And Secretary of Labor, Elaine Chao, the first Asian-American woman in any president’s cabinet.
We are not resting, however. With gangs of criminal statists and fascists in control, at least through 2010, of the feral gummint’s every branch, there is more work than ever to be done to secure the God-given rights of all Sovereign Americans -- and of all men, everywhere. And the Republican Party will continue to lead the way.
In all of Human history, the United States of America is the only nation founded not on race or nationality or by way of invasion, conquering or by plunder -- but on the principle of individual liberty. And conservative Republicans, from the founding of our party and to date have carried forward America’s ideal of individual freedom for all.
So you see, "David Mathews," you’d be less the bloody idiot if, before mouthing off again about “racist” conservative Republicans, you’d contemplate the Republican Party’s conservatives’ astounding, almost 160-years of civil rights achievements, many of them under the murderous threats of the “Democratic” Party’s terrorist wing, the Ku Klux Klan. Your kind of Goebbelsesque regurgitation of lies big and small will win you recognition and perhaps even kudos among the morons, the criminal aliens, the felons, the fascists and the crypto-fascistic who comprise the “Democratic” Party’s base and who post at the Daily Hatred, the Soros Simpleton and at the Puffed Up Post – but will earn you only short shrift here, where folks have minds, are capable of independent thought -- and are equipped with both our own ideas and acquired knowledge.

Who Runs America?
By BRIAN CLOUGHLEY
Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt were pretty close, politically and personally. They led the fight against fascism in the early 1940s, and although they had their disagreements they got on very well. They were both blunt in expressing their views, but there was no doubt who was the more powerful : Roosevelt called the shots, although Churchill had a lot of influence on him. But it would have been unthinkable for Churchill to have behaved in the way that the present (though not for long) prime minister of Israel did with the present (though not for long) president of the United States.
Prime minister Olmert of Israel, who has been forced to stand down because of allegations of corruption, telephoned President Bush to make the latter alter his orders to his Secretary of State to support a mild resolution in the UN Security Council that called for a ceasefire in Gaza. The barely believable transcript of Olmert's boasting of his success is on public record. He said:
"I [Olmert] spoke with him [Bush]; I told him: You can't vote for this proposal. He said: listen, I don't know, I didn't see, don't know what it says. I told him: I know, and you can't vote for it! He then instructed the secretary of state, and she did not vote for it."
There is no other head of government in the entire world who could say such words to the president of the United States. And will Olmert's successor be able to speak with Bush's successor in the same way and with a similar result?
We know the name of the next US president, but we don't know who the next Israeli prime minister will be. It looks as if it might be a choice between two steel-minded sadists, Tzipi Livni or Binyamin Netanyahu, both dedicated haters of Palestine, Palestinians and Arabs in general. So what might they be able to say to President Obama? Will they be able to pick up the phone and call him to suggest forcefully that he alter the voting intention of the United States of America in the UN Security Council? And what would he do, if they did?
Given the commitment to Israel of Mr Obama and his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, as was obvious in their groveling speeches last year to the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee, there is no guarantee that they will, either of them, ever utter a word in criticism of Israel.
There is one thing certain: the US Congress is going to continue its unconditional support for Israel, no matter what war crimes are committed by its disgusting thugs-in-uniform. The Reps need the money, after all, which they get through political action committees which are generously funded by American Jews. And they are scared to political death by the threat that pro-Israel agencies will destroy them politically if they dare say a word against Israel.
There are very few Representatives of the people of America who would dare challenge Israel, or who might possibly criticize Israel, or who have the courage to condemn atrocities committed by Israel.
***
The worst of all the barbarians who are killing children and their mothers and fathers in Gaza are the Israeli pilots who mercilessly bomb houses occupied by terrified families. And they are staunchly supported by the House of Representatives of the United States of America.
These pilots, these vile little war-gamers of the skies, these latter-day examples of what Tom Wolfe called "The Right Stuff", can zoom over towns full of traumatized children and happily heave and hurl their bombs and rockets to kill yet more Palestinian kids without the remotest chance of being shot down. How heroic; how truly gladiatorial. How contemptible. They are blood brothers with the pilots of the Nazis' Stuka ground attack aircraft of yesteryear, with their terrifying sirens, who bombed columns of fleeing refugees all round Europe.
But the US House of Representatives rushed to praise Israel, and endorse its invasion and its merciless air strikes, and committed America to a motion "Recognizing Israel's right to defend itself against attacks from Gaza, reaffirming the United States' strong support for Israel, and supporting the Israeli-Palestinian peace process."
***
Not many Americans know anything about the hideous barbarity in Gaza, because US cable networks and newspapers rarely carry pictures of disfigured blood-splashed children who have been killed, maimed or orphaned by the Israelis. But here in Europe we have access to some TV channels and newspapers that are very different from the pliant pro-Zion patsies of the major news outlets across the Atlantic.
And if US television channels carried pictures like the ones we see, there would be such outbursts of horror and indignation that even the US Congress might be forced to condemn the Israeli fascists for their barbarity. But the all-powerful Israel lobby makes sure that little of the sort will appear.
Who runs America?
The only honorable members of the House, voting against unconditional support for Israeli killing of Palestinian children, were Democrats Dennis Kucinich (Ohio), Maxine Waters (California), Gwen Moore (Wisconsin), and Nick Rahall (West Virginia), along with Texas Republican Ron Paul. And Mr Kucinich put the whole case for their vote when he said
"In Gaza, the United Nations gave the Israeli army the coordinates of a UN school, and the school was then hit by Israeli tank fire, killing about 40. The UN put flags on emergency vehicles, coordinating the movements of those vehicles with the Israeli military, and the vehicles came under attack, killing emergency workers. The Israeli army evacuated 100 Palestinians to shelter, and then bombed the shelter, killing 30 people."
Blunt stuff – but it cut no ice with the 390 members of the House who voted for Israel to continue its killing.
The Israelis have killed over a thousand Palestinians, and the UN reports that at least 500 of these deaths were civilians, and that half of these were women and children. One million of Gaza's 1.5 million people have no electricity, and about 750,000 are without water. They are existing in conditions of appalling squalor and fear, with US-supplied helicopter gunships and F-16s striking at will, and tanks and artillery destroying their houses and killing their children.
Yet the House votes for Israel. And the President of the United States of America jumps to obey the Israeli prime minister. But will there be any change under Obama and Clinton?
A year ago Hillary Clinton told the American Israeli Committee that "we stand with Israel because of our shared values and our shared belief in the dignity of men and women and the right to live without fear or oppression."
Last June Barack Obama told the American Israeli Committee "Now is the time to be vigilant in facing down every foe, just as we move forward in seeking a future of peace for the children of Israel, and for all children. Now is the time to stand by Israel . . ."
Will they continue to support Israel, the country that has laid waste a land and murdered over 200 women and children?
If they do, the question must be asked: Who runs America?

These are the times that try men's souls. Sotomayor is a danger to the Constitution. This woman is arrogant, stupid and utterly unable to apply the Constitution to facts as presented to her. With Sotomayor, her outcome is pretedermined by her mutticultural politics and her racism. Her opinions don't even attempt to apply origionalism to the facts as presented to her. She is the product of what our multicultural society has produced in droves, which is why America is dying. The Constitution is a complete anathma to her.

We will know how much of a flush we need to give Washington after this nomination is delt with. Lock and load, boys and girls.

Jews Work for Their Own Interests: Often to the Detriment of Others
By Dr. William Pierce
I recently discussed the ongoing Jewish extortion effort against Switzerland. Jewish organizations claimed that Swiss banks were holding onto assets deposited by wealthy Jews in the 1930s and 1940s who later perished during the Second World War and so were never able to retrieve their money. Jews demanded that this money be put into a special fund for so-called "Holocaust survivors."
More information has come to light about this Jewish extortion campaign, and I want to share it with you today, because it helps us to understand better the situation all of us are in. In the first place, let us be clear on the point that what we are talking about is not simply an effort by Jews to get back what rightfully belongs to them. It is not a matter of aging "Holocaust survivors" David and Sarah Goldblatt in Miami Beach trying to get their hands on an account their late uncle Abe set up in Switzerland before he was hauled off to Auschwitz in 1943 and never seen again. It is, in fact, a massive campaign of criminal extortion, complete with threats, deception, and fraud on a huge scale and criminal collusion by the Clinton government and the controlled news media.
The initial response of the Swiss to the Jewish demand for money was to state that Jewish depositors always had been treated just like all other depositors, and that Swiss bankers already had investigated their dormant accounts and looked for the rightful owners, and that there was at most a few million dollars in such accounts which might belong to relatives of Jews who had died during the war. All David and Sarah Goldblatt had to do to claim Uncle Abe's money was present evidence that it was rightfully theirs.
This, of course, wasn't what the Jews had in mind at all, and so they began applying pressure and making threats. Switzerland's president at the time, Jean-Pascal Delamuraz, angrily accused the Jews of "blackmail" and "extortion" in trying to pressure Switzerland to turn money over to them without any evidence that they had a legitimate claim. But, unfortunately, Mr. Delamuraz was leaving office at the end of 1996, and his successor was more willing to pay blackmail in order to avoid trouble. Just to make sure that the Swiss got the message the Jews persuaded some of their Christian collaborators to join their campaign. Willing church leaders in Switzerland organized a public demonstration in Zurich by 15,000 churchgoers who demanded that the Swiss government and the Swiss bankers give "God's Chosen People" whatever they wanted and stop accusing the poor, persecuted Jews of blackmail.
The Swiss bankers and the Swiss politicians are a bit more hardheaded than these pale, soft, hymn-singing churchgoers, however. Arguments that God's Chosen People deserve whatever they want because the Bible says so have little effect on them. The real pressure was being applied to them out of the public's eye. On January 10, 1997, billionaire Jewish liquor merchant Edgar Bronfman, head of the World Jewish Congress, met with the Swiss ambassador to the United States and threatened him that unless Switzerland coughed up $250 million immediately, the upcoming Congressional hearings by the House Banking Committee would be made as embarrassing as possible for Switzerland.
And other pressure was being applied behind the scenes. A group of New York Jews, claiming to be "Holocaust victims," brought a class-action suit against three of Switzerland's largest banks and petitioned the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to suspend the banking licenses of the defendant banks pending the outcome of the lawsuit. If such a petition were granted it would cause the banks to lose billions of dollars.

How Russia's mafia is taking over Israel's underworld
The Israeli authorities grant citizenship to anyone who can prove Jewish ancestry
The BBC's Kevin Connolly investigates the Russian mafia's covert invasion of Israeli society. There are alarming signs that the Russian mafia has taken over the Israeli underworld and is using the country to launder its vast profits. A wave of mass immigration from the former Soviet Union has brought 750,000 newcomers to the Jewish state in the last decade. Amid the innocent exodus were Russian gangsters, many of whom are believed to have produced bogus proof of Jewish ancestry to enter the country. Police in Israel have been keeping around 30 organised key crime suspects under surveillance.
Billions invested in Israel
Former police chief Asaf Hefetz says £2.5bn ($4bn) of organised crime money from the former Soviet Union has been invested in Israeli real estate, businesses and banks in the past seven years. Gregory Lerner, who was arrested in 1997 for defrauding four Russian banks of £70m ($106m), was reputedly sent to Israel to head up one of the money laundering operations.
Gregory Lerner is under police guard in Israel
Lerner, 47, will serve six years in jail after reaching a plea bargain with Israeli prosecutors. Detectives claim two Russian mafia groups are plotting to "spring" him from an Israeli jail.
Increasing Russian activity
Commander Meir Gilboa, chief of the Israeli Serious Crime Unit, has noticed the increasing activity of Russian gangsters. He says: "They come here because in Israel it's easy to carry out their illegal activities. "There is no law against money laundering or belonging to an illegal organisation. "It's easy for Jews to receive Israeli citizenship. If they are not Jews they are smart enough to forge documents in order to become citizens. They feel much safer here than in Russia."
Prostitutes from Eastern Europe often end up in Israel
Threat to Israeli society
Commander Gilboa says Russian criminal organisations pose a threat to Israeli society: "They have the means at their disposal to corrupt government and economic systems. "The other danger is that they will also increase crime here because they need a lot of money to support their luxurious lifestyles." One highly profitable area in which they are thriving is prostitution. Dozens of brothels and peepshows have sprung up in Tel Aviv and Haifa in the last few years.
Modern form of slavery
Many are controlled by Russian mobsters who recruit Eastern European women who then become trapped and subservient. Rita Rasnic, of the Israeli Women's Aid Centre, describes it as "modern day white slavery".
The Russian mafia is making a fortune in Israel
Women are often traded between gangsters for £6,000 ($10,000) to £9,000 ($15,000) and routinely have their passports taken away by their pimps. Detective Toni Haddad of the Haifa vice squad says: "They are sold like slaves. Nobody cares. I don't think it's life for them," as the prostitutes have to do whatever their bosses want. The woman are "not free to do anything."

The Jewish Mob in America
by Dr. William Pierce
I promised last week that I would tell you in more detail about what organized Jewish criminals are doing in the United States, and that's what I'll do today. Actually, I've discussed this subject with you a few times in the past, especially in my broadcast of May 16, 1998, which was titled "Paying the Organizatsiya." There have been many new developments in Jewish organized crime during the past few years, and although the mass media have carefully avoided talking about these developments, never using the word "Jew" and referring only to "Russian" organized crime when they do occasionally mention the subject, a new book was published just a few weeks ago by Little, Brown and Company, which provides an up-to-date and reasonably good introduction to the topic of Jewish organized crime. I'll refer occasionally to the book during today's broadcast. The title of the book is Red Mafiya: How the Russian Mob Has Invaded America.
Interestingly enough, the author of the book, Robert Friedman, is a Jew himself, which just goes to show that when there's money to be made, whether in selling books or pushing drugs, Jews will even turn on each other. Certainly, the Jewish gangsters turn on each other often enough in Friedman's account. Both in Russia and in the United States, members of the Jewish mobs machine-gun and bomb each other today even more readily than the members of the Italian gangs used to shoot it out in Chicago back in the 1930s. And although Friedman adopts the standard media ploy of referring to the gangsters as "Russians," he really cannot help revealing that nearly all of them are Jews.
For example, when he comments on the reluctance of the FBI and local and state police to crack down on the so-called "Russian Mafiya" or even to investigate it, he notes:
. . . [I]n general, state and Federal law enforcement agencies were loath to go after Russian mobsters, instead devoting their energies to bagging Italian wiseguys . . . . And because the Russian mob was mostly Jewish, it was a political hot potato, especially in the New York area.
Friedman even points out that the mainstream, "respectable" Jewish organizations, such as the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith, pressured the police agencies to take it easy on their kinsmen in the Jewish crime gangs, claiming that any publicity associated with investigations or arrests would "foster anti-Semitism" and lead the Gentile public to protest against the continued influx of Jewish gangsters into the United States from the Soviet Union as "refugees." Even after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, however, writes Friedman:
Jewish organizations continued to lobby the Justice Department to downplay the threat posed by the Russian mob. 'The Russian Mafia has the lowest priority on the criminal pecking order,' admitted FBI spokesman Joe Valiquette during a 1992 interview.
Well, I'm sure it hasn't been too difficult lobbying the Clinton Justice Department to be nice to Jewish gangsters, since they have been the source of so much of Clinton's campaign money.
The Anti-Defamation League, of course, has a long history of cozy associations with Jewish crime bosses and with the FBI, giving the Jewish pressure group a great advantage in pulling the necessary strings to shelter the most important of the Jewish gangsters from prosecution. And it wasn't just the Anti-Defamation League that sheltered the flood of Jewish thugs, extortionists, murderers, drug dealers, White slavers, and racketeers pouring in from Russia. The Jewish religious establishment in America did everything it could to facilitate the influx. That's a noteworthy point because the Jewish gangsters are portrayed by apologists for the Jews as being barely Jewish, Jews with no real consciousness of being Jewish, while the Jewish religious establishment is portrayed as being a pious bunch of rabbis, especially the Orthodox Jewish establishment. Actually it was in the Orthodox establishment that the gangsters formed their most useful connections.
Friedman points out that the first of the Jewish mob's godfathers in the United States, Evsei Agron, owed his crime career to a politically connected Orthodox rabbi, Ronald Greenwald. Rabbi Greenwald had gotten his political connections working for Richard Nixon's 1972 reelection campaign. He was Nixon's ambassador to the Jewish community. In the 1980s Rabbi Greenwald became mob boss Agron's one-Jew think tank and facilitator. Mob insiders report that most of Agron's rackets were planned in Rabbi Greenwald's Manhattan office. A leading mob member in Toronto, Joseph Sigalov, is also a leader in Canada's Orthodox Jewish community and the publisher of an influential Orthodox newspaper.
So, if these Jewish mobsters get invited to Democratic Party fundraisers and serve as advisers to Republican reelection committees and are in tight with the Orthodox Jewish religious establishment, and if the FBI thinks they're not really as important as the Italian gangsters, maybe we shouldn't worry about them either. Maybe they're really not such bad guys. Maybe they're just nice, Jewish boys who sometimes step over the line and break the law.
Well, the Italian gangsters certainly don't look at them that way. A member of the John Gotti gang in New York was recorded with a wiretap warning an acquaintance:
We Italians will kill you. But the Russians are crazy -- they'll kill your whole family.
This view also is shared by policemen who have had to deal with the Jews. A New York City policeman told Friedman:

Jewish Extremists Concerned They Can’t Hide Role in Planned Iran War
The largest Jewish Newspaper in the United States, The Jewish Week, has expressed concern that Americans are learning the truth about the Jewish political and media influence driving America toward war with Iran. Here is how the article begins:
President Bush is risking a backlash that could injure the Jewish community — and his own cause — by repeatedly citing Israel as his top rationale for possible U.S. military conflict with Iran, Jewish leaders and Middle East analysts warned this week.
Bush’s repeated, sometimes exclusive, focus on Israel could spark public fury against the Jewish state and Jews if U.S. military action is accompanied by skyrocketing gas prices, terrorism at home or fallen G.I.’s who might be seen as dying for Israel, some said. Others feared it could fracture the shaky international coalition Bush is striving to assemble to oppose Iran’s nuclear program by framing the threat as primarily to Israel rather than international stability.
Of course, the entire plan for an Iran War is about Israel and not the United States. Israel is behind it, the Neocons are behind it, and the Jewish extremists that have such disproportionate influence in the media are behind it.
A war with Iran would be an unmitigated disaster for the United States. It would raise the specter of massive terrorism against Americans all over the world, cost a huge treasure of American funds, cost thousands of innocent lives of both Americans and Iranians, and perhaps even drive the world to economic disaster.
Iran’s neighbor Pakistan has atomic weapons and Iran’s most determined enemy, Israel has atomic weapons.
Iran has joined the international atomic energy covenant and allowed inspections. Israel, acting as an outlaw state with a huge arsenal of chemical, biological and nuclear weapons — has not signed any international agreements and has not allowed even a single inspection. Yet, with no evidence that Iran is pursuing a nuclear bomb, Jewish Neocon-influenced Washington is saber-rattling; threatening to bomb Iran into oblivion. Such an act of war would have disastrous consequences exceeding even the catastrophe of the Iraq War, a war that has killed or maimed thousands of Americans and cost king’s ransom in American taxpayer’s dollars.

The holocaust:
A Jewish tool to secure ethnic supremacy
"Our present interpretation of the Holocaust has been deliberately devised by American Jewish groups for purposes of ethnic supremacy, political advantage and financial gain ... In more recent years, the Holocaust industry has effectively turned into a shake-down racket in which more and more countries throughout Europe are being bludgeoned into coughing up compensation."

As I have posted elsewhere many times, my Father, a good ol’ son of the south, helped liberate a nazi concentration camp. He had no tolerance for racists of any persuasion, but in particular he loathed idiotic filth that deny the truth he observed with his own eyes. So take your antisemitic venom to some loony communist web site where you can drown in your own filth. I feel dirty just acknowledging you exist.

The idiocy of neo-Nazi posts above should help some of you understand why calling Democrats "nazis" is such a bad idea.
We can all hope that whoever expunges vile fascists rants will do his work quickly.

Drudge ette, thanks.
MP Hannan is a great thinker and speaker, and I really like the way he weaves interesting bits of history into his speeches.
I'm a big fan of Theodore Daylrymple too. Here's a good piece by him that I think you might like.

I'm only aware of one newsworthy incident of a Democrat calling our troops "nazis," and that is when the hapless Dick Durbin spoke about the abuse of detainees.
His rhetoric went over the top, and he apologized. However, he was right to call attention to the issue, as was Senator Graham, Senator McCain, and Senator Warner -- all military men.
As was General Petraeus, who this week acknowledged that Bush administration policies were in violation of our treaty agreements and that torture had occurred in CIA prisons.

I AM GINGRICH
(sung to the Helen Reddy song “I Am Woman”)
I am Gingrich, hear me snore
The G.O.P. showed me the door
In ’98, I was thrown out on my rear end
‘cause I called for a class war
When Clinton dallied with that whore
So what if I also had a lady friend
Oh yes I’m despised
And I caused a lot of pain
I’ve been married thrice
And I will wed again
Remember, “Contract With America”
I was wrong (wrong)
Now I’m invisible (invisible)
I am Gingrich
Now I’ve shown you that I’m tasteless
By calling Sonia a racist
When I’m the guy that bloviates on ghettos
My lies will grow much stronger
And my nose will grow much longer
When I start to call Sotomayor a “Hoe”
Oh yes I’m despised
And I caused a lot of pain
I’ve been married thrice
And I will wed again
Remember, “Contract With America”
I was wrong (wrong)
Now I’m invisible (invisible)
I am Gingrich
I am Gingrich don’t you know
Democrats know that I blow
Fox News spreads my fat visage across the land
And I’ll use those embryos
And those nameless “baby does”
If it helps me to advance my final stand
Oh yes I’m despised
And I caused a lot of pain
I’ve been married thrice
And I will wed again
Remember, “Contract With America”
I am wrong (wrong)
And I’m invisible (invisible)
I am Gingrich
Oh, I am Gingrich
I am invisible
I am wrong
(Fading)
I am Gingrich
I am invisible
I am wrong
I am Gingrich

Do you realize how foolish such silliness makes you look? Heard once that it's better to be thought a fool then open your mouth and remove all doubt. You must not get out often. How do you criticize Newt on his personal flaws, which is correct to do, and laud Bill Clinton for his?
lynnrockets| 6.1.09 @ 6:26PM
@ Richard Baker:
Simple. You see, Newt is the hypocrite for calling out Clinton for his affair while he (Newt) was having one himself. Clinton did not act the hypocrite, for he did not call out Newt for the same behavior. By the way, where did you get the idea that I lauded Clinton? I do not see anything like that in my post do you?
Cow Rie| 6.1.09 @ 8:57PM
The mere fact that the DemLibs must play the race card shows that Soda Meir's quiver is empty
when it comes to debating legal philosophy. Any one who fears the childish racial name calling from the Dems should realize something. Their thought process has been and will always be the same. Taunt, smear and defame BEFORE the debate has even started is their modus operandi.
So what is new? Challenge the woman. Her positions in law are WEAK. The DemLibs will bray no matter what happens. Screw 'em.
Ann Marie| 6.1.09 @ 11:17PM
Of course, Bill Clinton is a rapist and obstructor of justice, Gingrich isn't. LRockets omits those little facts--a little hypocritical aren't we, lynn?
By the way, Murph, the Neo-Nazi on this thread is Daphne Kenward, a big time socialist like you. Lots of haters and bigots on your side, including Daphne.
lynnrockets| 6.1.09 @ 11:31PM
@ Ann Marie:
Much like Richard Baker, you do not seem to have the ability to either read critically or make a proper analogy. Newt is a hypocrite because he faulted Clinton for something he was doing himself. Clinton is not a hypocrite in that regard because he did not fault Gingrich for his extra-marital affairs. Also, I have not lauded Clinton in my post, although I must correct you in that there is no reason to state that he is a rapist. There has never been such a charge, a trial or conviction for such an action on his part, or perhaps you have convened your own kangaroo court.
Isn't it about time that you Republicans just sit back and enjoy the ride. You have no power in any branch of government and it looks like it is going to stay that way for awhile. The population has left your party behind in the scrap heap of yesterday. Live with it.
Ann Marie| 6.2.09 @ 12:58AM
Sprockets: If we're so irrelevant, why does your sorry a$$ hang around here so much? You libtards will screw it up big--you losers always do. We'll come in to clean up your mess, as usual. Clinton is a rapist and a serial sexual harasser, the perfect liberal icon for you. Moron.

Eu finance chiefs on friday ordered a review of complex financial instruments and risk management processes at banks and other institutions, responding to market. I have not had much interest in football in 20 years. I watched no NFL games this year. Only one thing interests me. The NFL needs to get rid of the field goal and the pat kick. All pat's should be run or pass. It is absurd to have a have fought game decided by a cheap kick. A four touchdown game should be settled by real pat's; 27-25 or something. A close game should be decided by a last minute touchdown. This would make for more exciting games as the teams would have to work on pat drills as well as two minute drills. No more foreign soccer players coming in to keeck a touchdown.
