The Unfolding Iranian Drama

How will Obama improve relations with Tehran? By threatening to punish Israel if its acts unilaterally.

Based on hints, feints, public pronouncements, and off the record commentary, the administration’s stance toward Iran is coming into focus. Without any question, military action against Iran is off the agenda. The Obama administration will do nothing to prevent the further enrichment of uranium by Iran’s mullahs, notwithstanding who is elected in that nation’s upcoming vote.

The negotiations with Iran are based on the premise that Iran can produce as much enriched uranium as it wants as long as a nuclear bomb isn’t manufactured. In other words, Obama seeks a “Japanese solution,” the conditions for a bomb without actually making one.

For some, this is a distinction without a difference since the bomb can be made in days if deployment is in the cards. If Obama can get the Iranians to agree to this arrangement with adequate blandishments provided by our side, including the lifting of sanctions, he will announce with great fanfare that “peace” between Iran and the West has been achieved. For keen observers of the region, it will be regarded as a “Munich peace.” For others, it will be seen as a significant diplomatic breakthrough.

In order to mollify Israeli leaders that this deal isn’t threatening to that nation’s survival, Obama will argue that the United States stands committed to employ its nuclear umbrella to protect Israel against nuclear attack. Although this offer will be made with apparent sincerity, it is hard to believe that Obama would be willing to risk the safety of New York in order to protect Tel Aviv. Moreover, it is also hard to believe any serious official in Israel will accept this proposal, albeit other options may not be available.

The Obama administration has made it clear that it will punish Israel if it decides to attack Iran unilaterally. Having failed to contain Iran, the United States is concentrating on restraining Israel. Administration contingency plans include a formal condemnation of Israel, support for a United Nations Security Council resolution that could include sanctions against Israel and suspending military aid to the Jewish state.

The big question is what the Obama administration will do if Israel, determining that Iran with the capacity to build nuclear weapons, is an existential threat and despite, U.S. disapproval, attacks Iran in any case. Moreover, how will President Obama react if Iran retaliates against Israel as well as shutting down the 29 mile wide Strait of Hormuz, through which twenty percent of the world’s crude oil is transported? Would the U.S. fight back, would it blame Israel for the preemptive attack on Iran appealing to the “Muslim world” for understanding?

Iran, which has vowed “to wipe Israel off the map,” and its Hezbollah and Hamas proxies would retaliate with missile launches on Tel Aviv and Haifa should any attack on Iran occur. For Israel to be even marginally successful, it must eliminate missile installations in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran — a truly formidable military objective.

Decades of appeasement and accommodations with Iran have led to the present impasse. These policy blunders cannot be attributed to President Obama. In fact, blame belongs on both sides of the political aisle. However, what distinguishes Obama’s diplomatic initiative from others is the “downgrading” of Israel in order to strike a “grand bargain” with Iran for regional “pacification.” Whether Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu wants it or not, Jerusalem is now on a collision course with Washington.

Israelis may be understandably stunned by the evolution of events. They are on the horns of a dilemma. Netanyahu has responded to the emerging U.S. position by noting that he will be accommodative on any argument with the Palestinians if Obama can negate the Iranian threat. He is attempting to establish a nexus between a Palestinian accord and the elimination of this threat. After all, he contends, if Iran is in the position to build nuclear weapons, the weapons serve as a cover for Hamas missile attacks against the state of Israel since escalation could lead to a nuclear exchange and should be avoided at all cost.

The Obama administration position is 180 degrees in a different direction. It appears to be arguing that an accommodative Israel that makes a deal with the Palestinians for a separate state will have American protection against a possible Iranian nuclear attack. But the first and overarching responsibility lies with Israel to arrange its negotiated settlement with Palestinian leaders.

President Obama believes time is on his side since he has already conceded with his “engagement” drive that Iran will have the time to enrich enough uranium to build a nuclear weapon. Prime Minister Netanyahu, unable to accept the potential threat, feels time is of the essence. The closer Iran gets to the fateful “tipping point,” the closer Israel is to survival issues.

Erstwhile President Jimmy Carter tried to assuage Israeli leaders in 1979 by noting that his craven concession to Iranian leaders did not pose a threat to Israel. Is Barack Obama preparing to go one step further in downgrading the importance of Israel in his attenuated negotiation with Iran? History is waiting impatiently for an answer and the world waits with bated breath.

* "Without any question, military action against Iran is off the agenda. "

Oh my, conservatives will cry because of the lack of spilled blood!

Conservatives are only happy when they are slaughtering non-white non-Christians in foreign lands in pointless, unnecessary illegal wars.

Christianity has a long history of such violence. Christianity is by far the most violent religion to ever curse the Earth with its existence.

I rather liked this article... am glad that "military action is off the agenda." (which is different than "off the table")

This was a pretty good read lacking most of the poison-spitting that many articles on this site contain. Thanks!

David, I didnot realize that Bellevue has such ammenities as internet access. The Military option has always meant pinpoint strikes on Iran's nuclear infratructure using bunker buster bombs. I am oposed not because I am a baptised Catholic, but because it will lead to Iran retaliating against our interests and allies in region. Closing the straits of Hormuz, cutting the oil supply during recession/depresssion would be bad.

NavyBrat| 5.21.09 @ 10:06AM

Great. So now we will let Israel twist in the wind while Iran builds nukes. "Talking" hasn't done jack sh*t since the revolution there. We see what giving Gaza back to the Palestinians got the Israelis. Bupkis. They left behind greenhouses that, at one time, produced 12% of all produce grown in Israel. They left behind infastructure & homes. What did Hams do? They destroyed all of this in order to keep their constituents angry & starving & pissed at Israel.

While I find that Jim Rice & I agree on very rare occasions (yesterday on the article about the Repub healthcare plan), I disagree here. There is no negotiating with countries or organizations committed to the destruction of an entire country & those who live there, all because they worship G*d differently. For Israel, "talking" just gives their enemies more time to re-provision & re-arm. Do you REALLY think that Adolf Ahmedinejad will, just all of a sudden, stop trying to get the bomb with Obama "talking" to him? Especially considering that all of the previous olive branches he's extended have been used by Iran to figuratively beat him about the head, neck, & ears? And even if Iran DOESN'T launch the bomb themselves, do you REALLY think they won't sell it to Hamas or Hezbollah? Come on, let's be realistic here.

ncatty| 5.21.09 @ 10:08AM

What is not mentioned in the article is Israel's possession of nuclear weapons. It can defend itself, and any rational (emphasis on rational) enemy knows it.

Hmmmmm...The TelePrompter in Chief and his regime of traitors and tax cheats wants Israel to trade something tangible like land for a promise of "something good maybe someday gonna happen". Two points immediately leap to mind:

A) We should not be surprised that the ObamaNazis would take this approach. Look at their policy on health care: they "promise" that their way will make health care cheaper someday, somehow, "somewhere, over the rainbow". But first, they want a TRILLION more dollars of the people's money, and they wanna shank the middle class with new taxes on soda, beer and gatorade. Again, they want US to give something substantial in return for lots of empty "promises"

B) If my country was 50 miles wide, and was being menaced by a country twenty times as big, led by a guy who denies the Holocaust and says my country has no right to exist, I wouldn't give a frog's fat ass what anyone else says, feels or thinks, I would DEFEND MYSELF. Seriously, what the hell are the ObamaNazis going to do to Israel thats worse than what the Iranians have in mind? What's barry going to do that's worse than a sixty second auschwitz attack, remove them as friends on his Facebook account?

The only thing more pathetic than this foreigner masquerading as President are the unmedicated halfwits who still support him.

Btw, I would like to make it plain to every RATIONAL person reading this that I am a conservative, and this political philosophy of mine obviously does not make me want to kill people who are neither white nor Christian. Which is pretty smart if you think about it, since I do not profess christianity, nor is my skin light colored.

Just figured that all the people with brains in their heads might be interested in pondering that point.

Well, I can't speak to the non-white, non-Christian part of Dave's diatribe, but otherwise, that sounds like a pretty good day to me!!

It is sad that the Christian Fundamentalist & the Muslim Fundamentalist have learnt nothing from the Iraq war. Yes I can see a war looming, I think it will destroy the world and human life forms on the planet.

Americans unfrotunately do not read about the effects on Depleted Urainum on human cells , Children born with two heads no legs no arms eyes in the top of their heads. And the Radio activity spreads from one country to another, causing cancer forming genes to step up a gear.

These poisons stays in the soil for Millons of years. The government speaks about war on terror, but they fail to explain what all scientist know, what America and Israel is doing is creating terror on the very survival of life on this planet, not just Black and Brown life but all life.

Perhaps it would be an idea to look at what is happening in Basra to new birth of the babies with two head no arms no legs, children and adults affected by camcer from the Depleted Uranium used in cluster bombs in Iraq.

American service men and women producing children cripple due to exposure to this dangerious material, its worth looking up, before we think oil is worth fighting over.

If Iran has never attacked Israel, why should they attack them now, when it's clear that the only way Iran would attack another country is if they are attacked. Much the same way America would attack any country who attacked it.

The only way Israel would be attacked is if it attacked another country capable of self defence.
So far the countries that has been attacked is ones who lack the ability to defend its self. Iran can and will defend its self from attack from any country which attack her.

We need to increase the peace.

Environmental and health consequences of depleted uranium use in the 1991 Gulf War
Environment International, Volume 30, Issue 1, March 2004, Pages 123-134

Abstract
Depleted uranium (DU) is a by-product of the 235U radionuclide enrichment processes for nuclear reactors or nuclear weapons. DU in the metallic form has high density and hardness as well as pyrophoric properties, which makes it superior to the classical tungsten armour-piercing munitions. Military use of DU has been recently a subject of considerable concern, not only to radioecologists but also public opinion in terms of possible health hazards arising from its radioactivity and chemical toxicity.
In this review, the results of uranium content measurements in different environmental samples performed by authors in Kuwait after Gulf War are presented with discussion concerning possible environmental and health effects for the local population. It was found that uranium concentration in the surface soil samples ranged from 0.3 to 2.5 μg g−1 with an average value of 1.1 μg g−1, much lower than world average value of 2.8 μg g−1. The solid fallout samples showed similar concentrations varied from 0.3 to 1.7 μg g−1 (average 1.47 μg g−1). Only the average concentration of U in solid particulate matter in surface air equal to 0.24 ng g−1 was higher than the usually observed values of 0.1 ng g−1 but it was caused by the high dust concentration in the air in that region. Calculated on the basis of these measurements, the exposure to uranium for the Kuwait and southern Iraq population does not differ from the world average estimation. Therefore, the widely spread information in newspapers and Internet (see for example: [CADU NEWS, 2003. http://www.cadu.org.uk/news/index.htm (3–13)]) concerning dramatic health deterioration for Iraqi citizens should not be linked directly with their exposure to DU after the Gulf War.

Abstract
The UK Armed Forces comprise some 190,000 personnel who have most of their healthcare provided ‘in-house’ by dedicated medical personnel and facilities. Historically, military personnel deployed on operational duties have been affected by a variety of constellations of medically unexplained symptoms associated with their service. The most recent of these is Gulf War syndrome, a phrase coined after the 1991 Gulf War. This article examines the many hypotheses that have been put forward about the origins of the concept and gives an overview of studies that have attempted to explain the lasting health effects associated with Gulf service. It also examines the attempts that have been made to treat the condition and considers the implications for current psychiatric practice.

Abstract
Rates and predictors of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) over time are not well understood. This study is the first to look at the rates of PTSD immediately following war and 2 years later using a large cohort (N = 2,949) of Gulf War veterans. Using a cut score to indicate presumptive PTSD, 3% of participants exceeded the cutoff at Time 1 compared with 8% at Time 2. Those who exceeded the cutpoint at Time 1 were up to 20 times more likely to exceed the cutpoint at Time 2 than those who did not exceed the cutpoint at Time 1. Women and those with high levels of combat exposure were at increased risk for PTSD at both times. Being young, being single, and having previous combat experience were associated with increased risk at Time 1 only, whereas reservists and enlisted personnel were at increased risk at Time 2 only. These findings indicate that, although low initially, rates of PTSD increased substantially over time.

Abstract
A small group of Gulf War veterans possess retained fragments of depleted uranium (DU) shrapnel, the long-term health consequences of which are undetermined. We evaluated the clinical health effects of DU exposure in Gulf War veterans compared with nonexposed Gulf War veterans. History and follow-up medical examination were performed on 29 exposed veterans and 38 nonexposed veterans. Outcome measures employed were urinary uranium determinations, clinical laboratory values, and psychiatric and neurocognitive assessment. DU-exposed Gulf War veterans with retained metal shrapnel fragments are excreting elevated levels of urinary uranium 7 years after first exposure (range 0.01–30.7 μg/g creatinine vs 0.01– 0.05 μg/g creatinine in the nonexposed). The persistence of the elevated urine uranium suggests on-going mobilization from a storage depot which results in a chronic systemic exposure. Adverse effects in the kidney, a presumed target organ, are not present at this time, though other effects are observed. Neurocognitive examinations demonstrated a statistical relationship between urine uranium levels and lowered performance on computerized tests assessing performance efficiency. Elevated urinary uranium was statistically related to a high prolactin level (>1.6 ng/ml; P=0.04). More than 7 years after first exposure, DU-exposed Gulf War veterans with retained metal fragments continue to excrete elevated concentrations of urinary uranium. Effects related to this are subtle perturbations in the reproductive and central nervous systems.

First off, I really think that people need to start registering for this site so as to avoid all the spam these morons clog up these threads with. Secondly, Iran has attacked Israel with it's proxies, Hezbollah & Hamas, my little Revolutionary Guards troll. And while you say that they will not attack Israel, maybe we'd be inclined to believe that had your thug midget President not told Israel & the world on numerous occasions that he'd wipe Israel off the map. Have fun when the bombs start falling. No matter WHAT NoBama says, Israel will glass your sorry country right back to the stone age. And the world would be better for it. And so would your suffering populace due to your country's position in the world as a pariah state.

S.L. Toddard| 5.21.09 @ 1:37PM

When Israel flies American fighters to drop American bombs on Palestinians, Israel is not "acting unilaterally". When Israel launches American missiles into Palestine, Israel is not "acting unilaterally". When Israel uses American dollars to buy bulldozers to eradicate Palestinian villages, and uses American dollars to buy concrete to wall Palestinians in and seal them off from the world, Israel is not "acting unilaterally". It is acting in concert with the United States, and the Arab world knows it. If Israel wants to continue to live off the largess of the American people, if it wants to continue to receive billions in American charity and weaponry etc then Israel should conduct its foreign policy as America dictates. If Israel decides to do otherwise they should do so without the benefit of American financial aid. With the fall of the Soviet Union the national interests of the US and Israel not only no longer coincide, but are now in many cases the opposite. For instance, America needs to establish and maintain good relations with the Arab world as they own so much of the lifeblood of American industry and society. It is not, however, in Israel’s interest for the U.S. to have friendly relations with their sworn foes – the enemy of one’s enemy being one’s friend. It’s self evident that it is, in part, our unswerving, uncritical, nearly blind support for Israel that has us the hatred and enmity of the Arab world, and that this support now damages, rather than enhances, our national security. As such Israel should be willing to bend over backward in exchange for the aid we provide and the sacrifices in security we make to do so.

In short, we should give Israel the same advice one might give a stubborn teenager: if you want to live by your own rules, move out and do so on your own dime. And to misguided Americans who have “mistook Tel Aviv for the capital of the United States” we should recommend the prescient council of George Washington:

“…a passionate attachment of one nation for another produces a variety of evils. Sympathy for the favorite nation, facilitating the illusion of an imaginary common interest in cases where no real common interest exists, and infusing into one the enmities of the other, betrays the former into a participation in the quarrels and wars of the latter without adequate inducement or justification. It leads also to concessions to the favorite nation of privileges denied to others which is apt doubly to injure the nation making the concessions; by unnecessarily parting with what ought to have been retained, and by exciting jealousy, ill-will, and a disposition to retaliate, in the parties from whom equal privileges are withheld. And it gives to ambitious, corrupted, or deluded citizens (who devote themselves to the favorite nation), facility to betray or sacrifice the interests of their own country, without odium, sometimes even with popularity; gilding, with the appearances of a virtuous sense of obligation, a commendable deference for public opinion, or a laudable zeal for public good, the base or foolish compliances of ambition, corruption, or infatuation.”

I just scroll past posts with a long monikers. They are all the same types...Stupid!

I have made my thoughts known before on Am Spec concerning Israel. Most of you have read them.
I must admit though, that the last few weeks I have been re-reading Biblical prophecy, both Old and new Testament.
Whatever interpretations one might have, I think everyone will agree that the "End Times" prophecies are pretty specific that the world's penultimate war will occur involving Israel.

All of those prophecies tend to indicate that the whole world will be drawn into that war.

The "war" will be between God's people and everybody else.
Hello! Christians are adopted into God's "people" via Jesus the Christ.
Let us never forget the concept of adoption.
In ANCIENT English common law...and indeed underlying US law...an "adopted "child...MAY NOT BE DISINHERITED! A child by "blood" may be, but never an adopted child.

I would invite those of you with curiosity to read The 18th Chapter of Genesis beginning about the 20th verse. Abraham is questioning ...and learning ...about God's scales of justice.

I hope we can find righteous men here in America.

Toddard. While your point may be valid for kids, it's a little different when the kid next door is a country armed with nukes that has promised, on numerous occasions, to DESTROY Israel & Jews. What are they supposed to do? Fold up their country & go? Where? What are they SUPPOSED to defend themselves with? Spitwads. Guess what, we sell arms to a lot of countries. So do the Russians & the Chinese & the NK's. I guess that, by YOUR reasoning, those countries are at war with Israel, since they supply the weapons & technology to Iran, who in turn gives it to Hamas & Hezbollah. Your logic is tremendously flawed in this instance.

Doctor Right| 5.21.09 @ 2:18PM

Dear S. L. Toddard,

When Israel flies American fighters to drop American bombs on Palestinian squatters...I squeal with delight!

When Israel launches American missiles into Palestinian interlopers...I jump for joy!

When Israel uses American dollars to buy bulldozers to eradicate Palestinian villages...I smile with glee!

When Israel uses American dollars to buy concrete to wall Palestinians in and seal them off from the world...I dance!

I do all this because Israel is a great, democratic country struggling to exist in a hostile environment, surrounded by murderous, lying thugs who use women and children to perpetuate their barbaric philosophies and stone-age beliefs. I do this because there already IS a Palestinian state called "Jordan", and if the Palestinians are too stupid to wake-up and realize they've been useful idiots for radical Islamist and Pan-Arabist causes since 1948, well that's tough crap for them, isn't it??

Israel is not "acting unilaterally". It is acting in concert with the United States, and the Arab world knows it. "What are they SUPPOSED to defend themselves with?"

Good question. Hmm. I suppose they *could* use their arsenal of nuclear weapons. Or they could use their fighters, missiles, machine guns, grenades. They probably have Rambo knives. Oh - their tanks. They could use those to defend themselves. Am I forgetting anything?

S.L. Toddard| 5.21.09 @ 3:04PM

"I do all this because Israel is a great, democratic country struggling to exist in a hostile environment, surrounded by murderous, lying thugs who use women and children to perpetuate their barbaric philosophies and stone-age beliefs."

Wonderful! You exhibit both qualities George Washington warned against and considered unpatriotic. The first was an unhealthy "passionate attachment" to a foreign nation, which you (quite boldly) exhibited with your demented, bloodthirsty screed. But you also - and this is fascinating, in a way - exhibit the other quality Washington thought dangerously un-American: "permanent, inveterate antipathies against particular nations."

Read on:

"The nation which indulges towards another a habitual hatred or a habitual fondness is in some degree a slave. It is a slave to its animosity or to its affection, either of which is sufficient to lead it astray from its duty and its interest. Antipathy in one nation against another disposes each more readily to offer insult and injury, to lay hold of slight causes of umbrage, and to be haughty and intractable, when accidental or trifling occasions of dispute occur. Hence, frequent collisions, obstinate, envenomed, and bloody contests. The nation, prompted by ill-will and resentment, sometimes impels to war the government, contrary to the best calculations of policy. The government sometimes participates in the national propensity, and adopts through passion what reason would reject; at other times it makes the animosity of the nation subservient to projects of hostility instigated by pride, ambition, and other sinister and pernicious motives. The peace often, sometimes perhaps the liberty, of nations, has been the victim."

ncatty| 5.21.09 @ 3:48PM

Toddard. Good posts. When Israel was created in 1948 they also apparently became our 51st State, entitled to our support just as Minnesota would be if invaded. If it is in the best interest of the US to support Israel, or any other country, then make that argument.

NavyBrat| 5.21.09 @ 4:28PM

"Or they could use their fighters, missiles, machine guns, grenades."

Well, considering your diatribe about how all their weapons are supplied by us, then, again, according to your diatribe, we are complicit in their actions of self defense. They DO make their own tanks & many (not all) of their small arms. Their airplanes are f-16's & f-15's that they got from us.

ncatty. We support many nations. South Korea, Japan, & Taiwan being a few. What is the gripe with Israel? We have alliances with many nations, whom we are pledged to support due to treaties. What's the problem with doing the same with Israel? That country, since it's inception, has faced destruction at the hands of its neighbors. They've kicked ass twice to ensure it didn't happen. They continue to kick ass for the simple fact of the matter that there are people who are trying to kill as many of their citizens EVERY DAY. Why begrudge them our support in the effort to defend themselves? What would OUR country do in the face of such a threat? I think we all know. More power to Israel. They know the true nature of the threat posed by jihadi organizations & the countries that sponsor them. I guess we can lump OUR country in there, too, due to the fact that our Dear Leader sent them (Hamas) a whole BOATLOAD of money.

Wake up America before you die| 5.21.09 @ 5:10PM

America is being held hostage, by a smart blood thirsty group of savages. Who claim every one is out to get them I wonder why, what have they been doing? Well so far they have made the palestinians lives a mysery, they have murdered 42.000 Palestinians in the last 10 years. But Americans don't get the real News the rest of the world gets. Because the same people who is holding the Americans and Palestinians hostage, control Reuters and the Associated Press.

When one is planning a country's demise, the outside force tries to gain control of the media, and fill it with what they want you to know. Most Christian Fundamentalist are being controled by the media, and these Pastors who are a part of the vast machine to keep Americans stupid.

While the decree of freedom are happily being enslaved physically and mentally.

The Christian fundamentalist, and Israel and the AIPAC lead American administration, is trying to create the end of the world, to usher in SATAN, while every one is thinking some one is about to save them, they find themselves homeless and destitute, without a Country or the comfort of past existance. And most Amereicans don't even ask the intelligent question if we are the richest country in the world why are there so many homeless service men and women in America, living under bridges, and 37 Million people living in poverty and rising. It would seem America is bound to spend American Tax dollars supporting a group of people in Israel who claim god gave them this LAND, if this were true, why don't God protect them, why do they need the whole of Europe and America to protect them?

By the time most Americans get round to read the Protocols of Zion it will be too late, for most of us.
Its a part of their religion to fool Americans and the world, to take what they have, and kill them. That is in the Talmud. While you are reading what they claim to be the Dead Sea scrol transulated, they are reading the Talmud. In one verse it states and I quote if you see a Gentile in a ditch put a bigger ditch over him to make sure he dies. Which explains why they have locked down the Gaza strip to leave the sick and injured to die, with no food or shelter, it's their religion. That's why they attacked Americans in the Liberty and tried to sink the ship with US service men and women. Americans are playing with fire, only too brainwashed to know. While they are watching the Simpsons, they are plotting the next war to draw Americans in to kill Arabs on their behalf, and get them selves killed at the same time.

These are the same people who killed Jesus Christ, if they can plot to kill Christ, why do you think they are not plotting to kill you.

Christ himself said, look what they did to me let alone what they will do to you. Jesus came to warn people about this time in History, and it is not God who wants you distroyed it's the Zionist.

"Well, considering your diatribe about how all their weapons are supplied by us, then, again, according to your diatribe, we are complicit in their actions of self defense. "

I'm not speaking to the weapons they *buy*, I'm speaking to the billions of dollars a year we give them.

"We support many nations. South Korea, Japan, & Taiwan being a few. What is the gripe with Israel?"

I've already told you. Nations develop relationships with other nations for strategic purposes. After the fall of the USSR our relationship with the Israelis no longer serves any strategic purpose - it *damages* our national security rather than enhances it. To believe we should continue that relationship as it is is quite literally to put the welfare of Israel *before* the security of America.

"We have alliances with many nations, whom we are pledged to support due to treaties. What's the problem with doing the same with Israel?"

The problem is that America needs to establish and maintain good relations with the Arab world as they own so much of the lifeblood of American industry and society. It’s self evident that it is, in part, our unswerving, uncritical, nearly blind support for Israel that has us the hatred and enmity of the Arab world, and that this support now damages, rather than enhances, our national security. The question you should be asking is: Does our relationship with Israel help or hurt our national security? The answer is obvious.

"That country, since it's inception, has faced destruction at the hands of its neighbors. They've kicked ass twice to ensure it didn't happen. They continue to kick ass for the simple fact of the matter that there are people who are trying to kill as many of their citizens EVERY DAY."

Good for them. Huzzah.

"Why begrudge them our support in the effort to defend themselves?"

What right does Israel have to my tax dollars? Isn't this the pro-Tea Party site, where everyone pretends to be steamed about income redistribution? Justify redistributing my income to the Israeli military.

"What would OUR country do in the face of such a threat? I think we all know."

Go on what amounts to welfare? Subsist on the hard-earned money of foreigners who live on the other side of the globe?

"More power to Israel. They know the true nature of the threat posed by jihadi organizations & the countries that sponsor them."

Sure. More power to Israel. But not more foreign aid. Justify what right Israel has to my tax dollars. You're one of these people who lay awake at night, terrified of terrorists in caves on the other side of the earth, right? Well justify why America should put its security at further risk from these terrifying homeless cave-people.

How do you stop being an idiot| 5.21.09 @ 6:54PM

Well, I have to give it it to you, you are talking sense. In Israel every single Israeli gets 13.000US dollard per year if they work or not.
Paid for compliments of the American people.

Plus what these crazy Fundamentalist collect for them. The Americans gives Israel nearly one Trillion dollars per year in Aid, on top of that they spy on the American administration. Israel is a threat to America in every sense of the word.

Most Americans have been far removed from reality for too long. Israel has no interest in living in peace with its neighbours, because it gets a Trillion US, plus free weapons. They use the money to build free houses on free land they have stolen from hapless Palestinians. Free Land Free Money, why would you want peace if some one was suporting your crimes against humanity, and Americans are the most hated people on earth by their own actions. Americans are seen as idiots, by Israelis. They laugh at you as fools. Free land free money free food, free weapons, and they run your Parliment through AIPAC, Americans are seen as the biggest idiots on the planet. It's because they are not told the truth.

Mr. Toddard,

Congratulations! You are on the same page as Daphne the kook!

Also, what strategic purpose is served with all the military aid Egypt is getting? Remember, Isreal and Egypt have been getting aid since '79 thanks to Peanut-brain Carter's "peace deal".
Yet you only single out Isreal. Why is that, I wonder? I'm against ALL foriegn aid. Why aren't you?

I also don't blame countries for using our weapons to defend themselves or think it makes us complicit. Did Argentina act "in concert" with the U.S. in 1982 when they used our A-4 Skyhawks to attack British warships?

S.L. Toddard| 5.22.09 @ 7:31AM

"Also, what strategic purpose is served with all the military aid Egypt is getting?"

Irrelevant. I am not arguing that Egypt should continue to receive military aid.

"Yet you only single out Isreal. Why is that, I wonder?"

*sigh*

The article is about *Israel* and Iran. The byline to this story is "How will Obama improve relations with Tehran? By threatening to punish Israel if its acts unilaterally."

"I'm against ALL foriegn aid. Why aren't you?"

With very few exceptions I am.

"I also don't blame countries for using our weapons to defend themselves or think it makes us complicit."

In the Gaza "War" last year, 1,417 palestinians were killed and 5,303 wounded. 13 Israelis died - 4 from friendly fire.

"Did Argentina act "in concert" with the U.S. in 1982 when they used our A-4 Skyhawks to attack British warships?"

Were their soldiers equipped with money provided by the U.S? Is their military budget underwritten by American taxpayers? Does the U.S. fund their research and development of weapons? Did the Senate unanimously pledged unconditional support to Argentina after their attack on Britain and continue funding their military? If so then yes - obviously.

This is a wake up call| 5.22.09 @ 11:01AM

Yea, quite true, Egypt also gets money in Aid, and that should be stopped too.

America needs to deal with it's own displaced people, who are living in tents because they lost their homes, due to this recession and the ones from Katrina.

I think sorting out your own problems first is sensible. Money for Pakistan should also be stopped, it ends up funding Terrorism, like in Israel. Money to fund terrorism, on the poor people of Gaza, and the west Bank.

The fact is, things has to change, because of the economic climate.

2.1 The Palestine Mandate of the League of Nations

In 1920, the San Remo Conference of the Allied Powers assigned to Great Britain a mandate to establish the Jewish national home on a territory covering Israel, Jordan and part of the Golan Heights. The Preamble to the Mandate specifies that “recognition has thereby been given to the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine.”

Article 2 of the Mandate made Britain responsible for placing the country under such political, administrative and economic conditions as will secure the establishment of the Jewish national home in Palestine;

Article 6 required Britain to facilitate Jewish immigration to Palestine and encourage close settlement of the land, including State lands and waste lands not required for public purposes;

Article 11 required Britain to introduce a land system that would promote the close settlement and intensive cultivation of the land;

Article 7 made Britain responsible for enacting a nationality law that would facilitate the acquisition of Palestinian citizenship by Jews who take up their permanent residence in Palestine;

Shortly prior to its ratification, Article 25 was added, empowering Britain, with the consent of the Council of the League of Nations, to postpone or withhold application of the Mandate provisions to the territories lying between the Jordan and the eastern boundary of Palestine.

The Palestine Mandate does not mention Arab national or political rights in the Land of Israel. It only states that the civil and religious rights of all the inhabitants of Palestine, irrespective of race and religion, must be safeguarded. The reason for that is clear, since the object and purpose of the Mandate was to reconstitute the political ties of the Jewish people to their homeland.

Arab pressure and riots in Palestine (supported by British officials favoring the establishment of a homogenous Arab empire, affiliated with Britain, in the whole of the Middle East3) brought about Churchill’s White Paper of 1922, that reiterated the right of the Jews to a Homeland in Palestine, but detached (permanently!) from Palestine all of the area east of the Jordan River (constituting almost 80% of the territory), and gave it to the Hashemi family, brought by Britain from Arabia, first as an Emirate subject to the British Mandatory and, since 1946, as an independent kingdom. The Mandate was approved by the League of Nations on July 24, 1922. During the entire period of the Palestine Mandate, the British who were entrusted with ensuring its fulfillment, in practice acted to frustrate its very purpose, wishing thereby to appease the Arab and Moslem world. They did so by limiting Jewish immigration to Israel, by restricting the sale of land to persons who were not Arabs residents of Palestine, as well as by poorly administering State lands, allowing the Arab population to seize them freely.4 The Palestine Citizenship Order-in-Council, 1925, contained no provision that would facilitate the acquisition of Palestinian citizenship by Jewish immigrants, as provided in the Palestine Mandate.5

6. The Possible Impact of the International Criminal Court
The International Criminal Court, established under the Rome Statute (in force as of July 1, 2002) to try people who have committed the crime of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, or the crime of aggression (yet to be defined), poses yet another grave risk to Israeli citizens, their leaders and soldiers. Whereas the Rome Statute does not even mention well-established crimes, such as airplane hijacking, the taking of hostages, and attacks on internationally protected persons, the Statute includes (Art. 8(b)(viii)) “the transfer, directly or indirectly, by the Occupying Power of parts of its population into the territory it occupies...”, a crime inserted at the initiative of the Egyptian delegation, in order to render the Jewish settlement of Yesha a war crime, and make all those who live there or fight to protect them be considered war criminals, even if the settlements were not established by the State of Israel, even if the initiative came from the settlers, even though their establishment has not violated the Fourth Geneva Convention (irrespective of the issue of its applicability in Yesha, dealt with in para. 3.1 above) or any existing rules of public international law.

Had Israel ratified the International Criminal Court (ICC) Convention, it would have made it possible to charge with war crimes Jews living in Jerusalem, the ancient capital of the Jewish people, in Hebron, the site of the tombs of the Matriarchs and Patriarchs of the Jewish people, and in any other part of Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip.

Settlements in occupied territories, in general, could hardly be considered “the most serious crimes of concern to the international community as a whole”, as defined in the Preamble of the ICC Rome Statute. Their inclusion in it and the grounds for that are cause for deep concern.

Moreover, unlike the World Trade Organization (previously GATT) which only admits states having a market economy, the Rome Statute admits states which have no regard whatsoever for fundamental freedoms and basic human rights. The judges and prosecutor will be appointed by all contracting parties on a regional basis.

Israel is capable of shielding its citizens from prosecution by not ratifying this international treaty. The jurisdiction of the Court is limited to acts committed on the territory of a contracting party and to nationals of contracting parties.

But, should an Arab state be created west of the Jordan, it will have the right to ratify this treaty and thereby put every Israeli leader and every Israeli citizen at the risk of being prosecuted for any of the crimes mentioned therein.28 The UN conference against Racism in Durban (Summer 2001) and the numerous condemnations of Israel by the UN General Assembly, the Security Council, UNESCO, the UN Secretary General, and the UN Human Rights Commissioner, may provide us with insight into what Israel may expect from this new institution created by the United Nations. Although every state has a right to self-defense under public international law, Israel has been condemned time and again by the international community for acts taken in self-defense. Political and other reasons have made the international community, the international media, and human rights activists, apply double standards to Israel.29 The fear alone from such prosecution may paralyze Israelis, their political leaders, and their army commanders from defending Israel as they should. Israel must prevent such a risk from materializing.

A moderator certainly would come in handy when "fe" starts rambling on about "cheap wow gold," whatever that is.

I've been to Israel four times in the past ten years, and have always been amazed at how a country about the size of New Jersey has been able to fend off enemies from larger countries all around. The Bible has been shown to be correct again and again about the history of the Jewish people -- that God would make them leave their land because of disobedience toward Him; that they would wander among the nations and be persecuted; but that one day, He would bring them back to their land and they would never be expelled by their enemies again. Right, right and right again. When people try to tell me that the Bible is just another book, I point that kind of thing out to them.

When my tour group was planting trees one day, an IAF jet streaked by over head; one of our guides pointed out that our location was barely two minutes by air from the nearest enemy border. I have talked to so many Israeli soldiers, including agnostic ones, who have amazing accounts of survival and victory in battle. In one, our tour guide recalled when he was a tank commander in fighting against the Egyptians (if I remember correctly), and his tank broke down just off the side of the road. Suddenly, he and his men saw a line of enemy vehicles coming at them from the other direction. He and his men had no time to run, so they just hunkered down in their tank. The line of vehicles passed right by them, and apparently never saw them, even though they were so close to the road. (He, by the way, is now a Jewish believer in Jesus.)

Israel is a leader in medical technology that benefits the entire world -- the osteoporosis medication I take is from there, to name only one good thing they make -- and they have made a garden out of a land that the Arabs had turned into the Siberia of the Middle East. People in Israel -- yes, including Arabs, who constitute about 20 percent of the population -- enjoy a level of freedom and posterity that the rest of the Muslim and Arab world can only envy. Especially the freedom part. Israel is no more a perfect country than the U.S., but I'm glad they are on our side, and that we are on theirs. At least, I am.

Nick| 5.22.09 @ 5:27PM

Mr. Toddard,

There are legitimate things to criticize Israelis about, like their socialism. And they shouldn't get American taxpayer money. But that's not thier fault, it's ours. As I wrote earlier, we shouldn't have foreign aid for any country, no execptions ( it's unconstitutional).

But you use any mention of Israel,no matter what the subject, as an opportunity to demonize her. And your "points" apply to other countries, but you never mention them or say the U.S. is complicit in their policies.

You admit your original post was incoherent, with all the qualifications you come up with to defend your bogus assertions, when I and others call you on it.

Where did you get your statistics this time, Al-Jazeera or Sy Hersh? Not one Gaza Arab would have died if Hamas hadn't launched rockets into Israel. But they voted Hamas in, they had to pay the price.

"But you use any mention of Israel,no matter what the subject, as an opportunity to demonize her."

*sigh*

The article is about *Israel* and Iran. The byline to this story is "How will Obama improve relations with Tehran? By threatening to punish Israel if its acts unilaterally." I spoke directly to Israel acting unilaterally.

And how did I "demonize" Israel? Cite the passage.

"And your "points" apply to other countries, but you never mention them or say the U.S. is complicit in their policies."

Why would I mention other countries in a comment about an article about US/Israeli relations?

"You admit your original post was incoherent, with all the qualifications you come up with to defend your bogus assertions, when I and others call you on it."

I'm asking myself right now if this is a ploy or if you really are incapable of grasping the subject at hand. Do you actually believe - honestly - that America's relationships with Argentina and Israel are analogous? Do you really need me to explain the difference between our relationships with Argentina and Israel? You really don't understand the difference between arming one country to the teeth and then officially pledging (and providing) them unconditional support for their military actions and selling another country weapons?

Argentina's military budget was not entirely underwritten by American taxpayers. The U.S. did not fund their research and development of weapons. The Senate did not *unanimously* pledge unconditional support to Argentina after their attack on Britain.

Now tell me seriously - did you honestly need that explained to you or are you pulling my leg with this nonsense?

"Where did you get your statistics this time, Al-Jazeera or Sy Hersh? Not one Gaza Arab would have died if Hamas hadn't launched rockets into Israel. But they voted Hamas in, they had to pay the price."

Hahaha. I forgot - you're the guy that thinks the Red Cross is part of the "liberal media"

haaaaaaaaahahahaha

S.L. Toddard| 5.22.09 @ 6:49PM

"Not one Gaza Arab would have died if Hamas hadn't launched rockets into Israel. But they voted Hamas in, they had to pay the price."

Right - innocent men, women and children had to DIE for participating in democracy.

Do you ever even try to imagine what it might be like to be forced from your home at gunpoint? To live under foreign occupation for FOUR DECADES in a massive, open-air prison? To have a hostile, foreign army controlling your airspace and borders? To have your land blockaded by that hostile enemy and be prevented, by barbed wire, machine guns and enemy soldiers, from ever leaving, and from acquiring the basic medical and nutritional needs for your children? To have that land continuously - even NOW - seized and occupied, to have your movements - your life - restricted? To have the most deplorably humiliating conditions imposed upon you and your family - your mother, father, brothers, children? Can you HONESTLY not imagine what sort of horrible acts would start to seem justified if that was YOUR lot?

It really amazes me - even now - how damaging , how *dangerous* people's acceptance of a simplistic Good Vs Evil narrative is. This is a particularly telling case in point. Israel is Good, the Palestinians are Evil, because life is just like professional wrestling with clear cut Good Guys and Bad Guys.

US Promises to Fully Fund Israeli Missile Defense System, While Cutting Its Own
Gates Defends Cuts to US Program
by Jason Ditz, May 20, 2009
Email This | Print This | Share This | Comment
Even as Secretary of Defense Robert Gates was being raked over the coals in Congress for the decision to cut funding to America’s missile defense systems, Israeli defense officials have revealed that Israel’s own Arrow 3 missile defense system will be “fully funded” by the United States yet again this year.

Israel has been working on the Arrow defense system for over 20 years with heavy US backing. It is reported that the costs for the upcoming year will be nearly $100 million. Israel’s system will be showcased later this year in a joint operation with the US military.

A successful test of a long-range Iranian missile today brought the issue of America’s missile defense systems in Europe into focus, though the missile’s maximum range still put it well short of the US bases in Poland and the Czech Republic, ostensibly being built for that purpose.

Secretary Gates defended the $1.2 billion in cuts to the Missile Defense Agency, despite criticism from some members of Congress. Gates said the suitability of some of the cut programs for their purposes were “highly questionable.” The newfound concern over the usefulness of US weapons programs will not, it seems, extend to foreign military aid.

40 Years of Poorly Kept Secrets to Continue
by Jason Ditz, May 21, 2009
Email This | Print This | Share This | Comment
Israeli officials breathed a collective sigh of relief today, as a senior Israeli diplomat assured that the nation’s massive nuclear arsenal, well known though never publicly acknowledged, would remain a secret.

Previous speculation was that President Obama might make Israel come clean about its vast arsenal while pursuing an agreement with Iran on its civilian program, but the diplomat claimed assurances that the US would maintain the “don’t ask, don’t tell policy.”

Earlier this month, Assistant US Secretary of State Rose Gottemoeller made headlines in Israel for suggesting that the administration wanted Israel, among other parties, to join the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). Joining the treaty would oblige Israel to open its arsenal to public scrutiny, after 40 years as a poorly guarded secret. Israel condemned the comments at the time.

Hardly a year goes by when a top Israeli official does not accidentally admit to the arsenal’s existence, yet the United States has had a policy for the past 40 years of keeping the weapons “from becoming an established international fact.” It seems that policy is going to continue.

MOSCOW, Aug. 14 — The Russian authorities said Tuesday that they were investigating a video recording of what appeared to be the grisly execution of two bound and gagged young men, filmed in a forest beneath a large Nazi flag. At least one of the men was beheaded on camera as he lay in a shallow grave.

The video, which appeared Sunday on several Russian ultranationalist Web sites, circulated on the Internet with a note from a previously unknown organization calling itself the National-Socialist Party of Russia. The note announced that a “military vanguard” had begun an armed struggle against “black colonists and those who support them from the Russian government.”

It demanded the expulsion from Russia of all Asians and people from the Caucasus and the granting of independence to all of Russia’s internal republics in the Caucasus.

The note also called for the resignation of President Vladimir V. Putin and the establishment of a government formed by Dmitri G. Rumyantsev, the leader of the National-Socialist Society, a neo-Nazi group.

It further demanded the release of Maksim Martsinkevich, the leader of Format 18, another Russian neo-Nazi group, who has been held since last month on charges of fomenting ethnic hatred and threatening violence.

It is not clear when or where the video was made.

But Aleksandr Verkhovsky, director of the SOVA Center, a private organization that examines hate crimes in Russia, said the video appeared to be real. Mark Tolchinsky, the acting spokesman for the Interior Ministry of Dagestan, a region in the Russian Caucasus, said investigators there had watched the video and also believed it to be authentic.

Slightly less than three minutes long, the video begins with scenes of the countryside and the title “Operation of the National-Socialist Party of Russia to Arrest and Execute Two Colonists From Dagestan and Tajikistan.” For a date, it gives only 2007.

The video then shows two terrified dark-skinned men kneeling in the forest under a Nazi flag. Each speaks through a gag in accented Russian, saying only, “We were arrested by National-Socialists.” One has been bound with heavy tape, the other with rope.

One of their captors shouts, “Glory to Russia!” and then lunges forward and decapitates one of the men with what appears to be a large knife. Heavy metal music plays throughout.

Later, the second captive is shown kneeling, head lowered. The bolt of a gun is heard to slam closed. The prisoner is shot in the head and falls face down into a grave. The video ends with two men in camouflage uniforms and black masks giving the Nazi salute.

The graphic scenes drew heavy traffic on Russian-language Web sites and prompted intensive commentary on Internet discussion groups. Many viewers, including those who identified themselves as nationalists, expressed horror and denounced the acts.

Nationalist Russian politicians reacted similarly and said the video was meant to discredit them. “This video tarnishes our image most of all,” Yevgeny Valyayev, an assistant to Nikolai V. Kuryanovich, a nationalist member of the lower house of Parliament, said by telephone.

“It’s a provocation, it’s clear,” he added. “In the near future similar things will happen.”

A spokesman for the national prosecutor general confirmed that the federal Interior Ministry and the F.S.B., a successor agency to the Soviet K.G.B. secret police, were investigating, but he provided no further comment.

Irina Zubareva, a spokeswoman for the Interior Ministry, told RIA Novosti, the official Russian news agency, that the video originally had been posted from two foreign Internet domains. That claim could not be confirmed.

Format 18 did not reply to queries sent by e-mail. A court in Moscow on Monday ordered Mr. Martsinkevich, the group’s leader, to be held in pretrial confinement.

Mr. Martsinkevich, who uses the name Hatchet, burst in on a debate between two journalists on the state of democracy in Russia earlier this year with about 20 followers and shouted, “Sieg heil!” and “Slaughter the liberals!” while making Nazi salutes. Since his arrest, his supporters have labeled him a “prisoner of conscience.”

There was no immediate indication whether the video had been made by members of his group, his sympathizers or — as many ultranationalists on Web sites suggested — by people seeking to discredit him and the larger movement he has personified.

Mr. Verkhovsky, who studies hate crimes, said the party claiming to have made the video had never been heard of before and might be a very small number of people, as few as two or three. “Usually such things are not done by members of well-known organizations, but by marginal people, even marginal for such movements,” he said.

Videotaped beheadings and executions, a gruesome propaganda tool used by insurgents in Iraq, have a history in Russia that predates the Iraq war.

Chechen separatists have been accused of beheading captured Russian soldiers since the first Chechen war, which began in 1994, and recordings of such grisly acts have circulated in markets in the Caucasus for years. Three British citizens and a New Zealander working for a British telecommunications company were abducted in Chechnya and beheaded in 1998 after being forced to confess on video to spying.

But Mr. Verkhovsky said the latest video was new ground for Russian ultranationalists and neo-Nazis, and perhaps a “symmetrical reaction to Chechnya.”

Where a Jew Should Do Evil

Moed Kattan 17a: If a Jew is tempted to do evil he should go to a city where he is not known and do the evil there.

Penalty for Disobeying Rabbis

Erubin 21b. Whosoever disobeys the rabbis deserves death and will be punished by being boiled in hot excrement in hell.

Hitting a Jew is the same as hitting God

Sanhedrin 58b. If a heathen (gentile) hits a Jew, the gentile must be killed.

O.K. to Cheat Non-Jews

Sanhedrin 57a . A Jew need not pay a gentile ("Cuthean") the wages owed him for work.

Jews Have Superior Legal Status

Baba Kamma 37b. "If an ox of an Israelite gores an ox of a Canaanite there is no liability; but if an ox of a Canaanite gores an ox of an Israelite...the payment is to be in full."

Jews May Steal from Non-Jews

Baba Mezia 24a . If a Jew finds an object lost by a gentile ("heathen") it does not have to be returned. (Affirmed also in Baba Kamma 113b). Sanhedrin 76a. God will not spare a Jew who "marries his daughter to an old man or takes a wife for his infant son or returns a lost article to a Cuthean..."

Jews May Rob and Kill Non-Jews

Sanhedrin 57a . When a Jew murders a gentile ("Cuthean"), there will be no death penalty. What a Jew steals from a gentile he may keep.

Baba Kamma 37b. The gentiles are outside the protection of the law and God has "exposed their money to Israel."

Jews May Lie to Non-Jews

Baba Kamma 113a. Jews may use lies ("subterfuges") to circumvent a Gentile.

Non-Jewish Children are Sub-Human

Yebamoth 98a. All gentile children are animals.

Abodah Zarah 36b. Gentile girls are in a state of niddah (filth) from birth.

Abodah Zarah 22a-22b . Gentiles prefer sex with cows.

To all the anti-Semites:
Remember this. A. The craziness happening internationally has to happen so that, B. Revelation can be fulfilled. The Talmud is Jewish tradition/interpretation and not the Word of God. Why do you think that Jesus condemned the Sanhedrin?
Whether you like it or not, Israel and Jerusalem are the focal points for the Prince of Peace to return. Obama and his ilk seem to think that they have the world by the tail and they are NOT in control. Arrogance toward Israel will still yield God's purpose.

My Farewell to Israel, Thorn of the Middle East
Before Israel became a state in 1948, Jews worldwide were filled with Zionist propaganda that Israel would be a homeland for all Jews, a refuge for persecuted Jews, a democratic country and the fulfillment of biblical prophecy.

I am an Ashkenazi Jew who spent the first 25 years of my life in the United States, the country that has given ALL Jews freedom and the opportunity to prosper -- and prosper we Jews did, to the point that one portion of the Jews (the Zionists) have gained a position of political and economic dominance in the U.S.

To fully understand the story I am about to tell, it is important that you understand what Zionism really is. Zionist propaganda has led the American people to believe that Zionism and Judaism are one and the same and that they are religious in nature. This is a blatant lie.

Judaism is a religion; but Zionism is a political movement started mainly by East European (Ashkenazi) Jews who for centuries have been the main force behind communism/socialism. The ultimate goal of the Zionists is one ONE-WORLD GOVERNMENT UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE ZIONISTS AND THE ZIONIST-ORIENTED JEWISH INTERNATIONAL BANKERS.

Communism/socialism are merely tools to help them accomplish their goal.

I was a Victim of Zionist Propaganda
After the 1967 War, we Jews were filled with pride that 'our homeland' had become so powerful and successful. Then too, we had been filled with the false propaganda that Jews in America were being persecuted. So, between 1967 and 1970 approximately 50.000 American Jews fell for this Zionist propaganda and migrated to Israel. I was one of those suckers.

After being filled with all this false Zionist propaganda, I felt that I would have a better chance to succeed in the new Jewish state. There was an added enticement, the spirit and challenge of pioneering and of helping my fellow Jews.

Dual Citizenship
I had no emotional conflict with leaving the U.S. because I was still able to keep my U.S. citizenship and could return to the U.S. at any time. You see, Jews are allowed to be citizens of both Israel and some countries -- U.S. is one of those countries. The U.S. government allows a Jew to be a citizen of both U.S. and Israel.

German Americans cannot be citizens of both the U.S. and Germany. Italian Americans cannot be citizen of both U.S. and Italy. Egyptian-Americans cannot be citizens of both the U.S. and Egypt . . . BUT, a Jewish American can be a citizen of both Israel and the U.S. THIS IS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF THE POWER THE ZIONIST JEWS HAVE OVER THE U.S. GOVERNMENT.

I Arrive in the "Jewish Paradise"
Before leaving for Israel, a Jewish friend of mine had made arrangements for me to stay a few days with her sister, Fawzia Daboul and her spinster aunt. After arriving at Lod Airport just outside of Tel Aviv, I took a bus to the home of Miss Daboul and her aunt. When I saw Fawzia, it was love at first sight. I started calling her 'Ziva' her Hebrew name. Ziva is a Sephardic Jewess from Iraq who, like myself, had fallen for the Zionist propaganda and had migrated to Israel. She was employed as a hairdresser.

The Kibbutz
After visiting with Ziva and her her aunt for two days, I left to spend 6 months at Kibbutz 'Ein Hashofet' one of the well over 150 such communes then operating in Israel. Since then, many more have been started -- especially in the territory taken from the Palestinian Arabs. A kibbutz is a farming and sometimes industrial venture. It is important to explain that Israel's Kibbutz system is a Marxist idea brought to Israel by the Ashkenazi Jews who migrated to Israel mainly from Poland and Russia. These Jews are part of that bunch of Jews know as the BOLSHEVIKS. Before 1917, they were the force that laid the foundation for the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 in Russia and the start of Communism.

Again, I want to point out, even emphasize, that it is some of that same bunch of Ashkenazi, Communist/Socialist Jews who migrated to Israel, gained control of the Zionist Movement and have dominated the government of Israel since its beginning in 1948.

Now, back to the kibbutz -

Prior to 1967, most of the work on the Kibbutz was done by Jews. But, since the 1967 War, the work has been done by Arabs who are paid a very low wage, and by volunteers from overseas. Members of the Kibbutz (all Jews) share all things equally. They receive clothing, food and a small allowance. All profits from the venture go into the Kibbutz account for future use. EACH OF THESE KIBBUTZ ARE AFFILIATED WITH ONE OF ISRAEL'S MARXIST PARTIES ranging from SOCIALIST TO HARD-CORE COMMUNIST.

The Kibbutz I was in was not hardcore communist. Yet, I was happy to leave after 4 months -- two months earlier than originally planned. During the time I was working in the Kibbutz, I carried on courtship with Ziva. She was one of the reasons I left the Kibbutz after only 4 months -- we were to be married.

Our Marriage Created Problems
The marriage ceremony was held in the Sephardic Synagogue. The ceremony was simple but beautiful. Ziva and I were happy, but our marriage created serious problems. You see, Ziva is a Sephardic Jewess and I am an Ashkenazi Jew. For an Ashkenazi Jew to marry a Sephardic Jew is frowned upon in Israel by the ruling Ashkenazim. To understand why this is the case, you must realize the difference between the Sephardic and Ashkenazi Jews.

The powerful Zionist propaganda machine has led the American people to believe that a Jew is a Jew -- one race of people and that they are "God's Chosen People". I will deal with the "God's Chosen People" LIE later. First, it is important for you to understand that Jews are NOT one race of people.

There are two distinct groups of Jews in the world and they come from two different areas of the world -- the Sephardic Jews from the Middle East and North Africa and the Ashkenazi Jews come from Eastern Europe. The Sephardic is the oldest group and it is they, if any, who are the Jews described in the Bible because they lived in the area described in the Bible. They are blood relatives to the Arabs -- the only difference between them is the religion.

The Ashkenazi Jews, who now compromise 90% of the Jews in the world, had a rather strange beginning. According to historians, many of them Jewish, the Ashkenazi Jews came into existence about 1200 years ago. It happened this way:

At the eastern edge of Europe, there lived a tribe of people know as the Khazars. About the year 740 A.D., the Khazar king and his court decided they should adopt a religion for their people. So, representatives of the three major religions, Christianity, Islam and Judaism, were invited to present their religious doctrines. The Khazars chose Judaism, but it wasn't for religious reasons. If the Khazars had chosen Islam, they would have angered the strong Christian world. If they had chosen Christianity, they would have angered the strong Islamic world. So, they played it safe -- they chose Judaism. It wasn't for religious reasons the Khazars chose Judaism; it was for political reasons.

Sometime during the 13th century, the Khazars were driven from their land and they migrated westward with most of them settling in Poland and Russia. These Khazars are now known as Ashkenazi Jews. Because these Khazar Ashkenazi Jews merely chose Judaism, they are not really Jews -- at least not blood Jews.

Throughout their history, these Polish and Russian Ashkenazi Jews practiced communism/socialism and worked to have their ideas implemented in these countries.

By the late 1800s significant numbers of these communist/socialist Jews were found in Germany, the Balkans and eventually all over Europe. Because of their interference in the social and governmental affairs of Russia, they became the target of persecution by the Czars. Because of this, migration of these communist/socialist oriented Jews began. Some went to Palestine; some to Central and South America; and a large number of them came to the U.S.

Political Zionism is Born
In 1897, the First Zionist Congress was held in Basle, Switzerland. At this Congress, it was decided to work toward the establishment of a Jewish state and a search for land on which to build this Jewish state began. Great Britain offered the Zionists land in Africa. This the Zionists rejected: they wanted Palestine!

At the time, Palestine was inhabited by a half a million Palestinian Arabs and a few Palestinian Jews who are blood related and who had lived together in peace for centuries. With Palestine as their choice for a homeland, European Ashkenazi Jews began migrating to Palestine. As I explained earlier, most were communist/socialist oriented with some of them being radical Bolshevik communists whose aim is world domination.

So when you think of Jews, especially as related to Israel, keep in mind that there is a great difference between Sephardic and Ashkenazi Jews. They are not one united people. They are divided socially, politically and especially racially. Now, back to Ziva, a Sephardic Jewess and I an

Sephardic Jews -- Second Class Citizens
For the first three years of our marriage, it was necessary for us to live with Ziva's aunt. This was because of the critical housing shortage in Israel and because of racism. Housing is allotted as follows:

Ashkenazi Jews who have lived in Israel for many years are given first choice.
Second in line are Ashkenazi Jews from Europe -- especially if they are married or marry an Israel-born Ashkenazi Jew.
The next favored are Ashkenazi Jews from the U.S. -- especially if they marry an Israeli-born Ashkenazi.
Sephardic Jews have the next choice of whatever housing is left.
At the bottom of the list are Moslems, Druze and Christians.
Opportunities for employment follow the same pattern: Ashkenazi Jews get the choicest jobs, Sephardic Jews next, and Moslem, Druze and Christians fill the menial jobs with a great many left unemployed. Even through I was an Ashkenazi Jew from the U.S., I was placed lower on the list for housing because I married a Sephardic Jewess.

Being denied housing was my second experience of the intense racism that exist in Israel. From the very beginning of my arrival in Israel, many slurs were yelled at me. We American Jews were merely being tolerated. Because Israel, to survive, must depend on gifts of American Jews and the sale of worthless Israeli Bonds in America, there is jealousy among the elite Israeli Ashkenazi Jews toward American Jews, even if the American Jews are also Ashkenazi. Many times I was told, "Go Home!" and, "We want your money, but not you."

However, there was a portion of the American Jews who were welcome and given favored treatment. They were the card-carrying communist Jews.

Of the 50.000 American Jews who, like myself, had migrated to Israel between 1967 and 1970 about 20% (10.000) of them were Marxist oriented with a great number of them actual card carrying communists. They were welcomed by the Israeli authorities and local Ashkenazi and were given favored treatment -- housing, jobs and social life. It must be noted besides coming from the U.S., a great number of communist Jews were migrating to Israel from Chile, Argentina and South Africa.

Of the 50.000 who had migrated to Israel during that time, 80% of us eventually returned to the U.S. The 20% who remained were those who were card-carrying communist or sympathetic to Marxism.

Three Faces of Israel
From what I have told you so far, you must have the idea that Israel is a Marxist (socialist/communist) country. This would be correct. But, Israel has three faces: Communism, Fascism and democracy. The Ashkenazi Jews who migrated to Israel from Russia brought with them the ideology of socialism/communism and have put into practice much of that ideology. The Ashkenazi Jews who migrated to Israel from Germany, while sympathetic to communism and support it, tend to favor the practices of Nazi-style fascism. During World War II, in Germany these elite Zionist Ashkenazi Jews worked closely with Hitler's Gestapo in persecuting the lower class German Jews and delivering them to concentration camps.

Now living in Israel, these elite Zionist Jews, who were well trained in Nazi-style fascism and favor it, have imposed many facets of fascism on Israel. To give the impression that Israel is a democracy, members of the Knesset (Israel Congress) are elected -- an odd type of election. This is where Israel's so-called democracy stops. It doesn't make any difference which party wins an election, the LIKKUD or LABOR, the elite Zionist Jews rule in a dictatorial manner -- giving favors to the elite clique and brutally suppressing any dissent.

In the Zionist/communist scheme of world domination, it is Israel's role to continually stir up trouble in the Middle East. Since wars are a big part of this scheme of aggression, it is only natural that from early childhood on, Israeli youth are trained mentally and physically for war. For instance: Israel has its equivalent of Hitler's youth group. It is the Gadna; and all high school and junior high students are required to participate -- boys and girls. Like Hitler's Youth group, the youth in Israel's Gadna are dressed in khaki uniforms. They take training and engage in para-military exercises.

Even at play, guns and thoughts of war are present. When on a picnic, instead of taking along baseball or soccer equipment, they take sub-machine guns and assault rifles and practice shooting and playing military games.

Once graduated from high school, all young boys are required to serve 3 years in the army (2 years for girls) or 4 years in the navy or air force (3 for girls). Ultra-orthodox religious Jews are exempt from military service.

Once out of the service, a number of the ex-service people join the Shin Bet, the equivalent of Hitler's Gestapo. Like the Gestapo, they engage in repressing anyone who acts or speaks out against the Marxist/Fascist

THE JEWS AND SLAVERY

In our own time, as throughout history, Orthodox male Jews still must daily thank God for not being born Gentile, as well not being born a woman. Such ritual thanks branch out into other areas as well.

"One specific mitzvah [religious commandment] required of traditional Jews each day," says Arthur Kurzweil, "is [a reminder] that we were slaves in Egypt. This mitzvah is not performed with a ritual object, nor is it an act that would cause some to think you looked religious. Merely reflecting in your mind and hearing that we were slaves is, in itself, considered a spiritual act of great significance." [KURZWEIL, p. xxii] Jewish victimhood tradition ritually underscores their roles as slaves thousands of years ago. In Orthodox households, says Evelyn Kaye, "bitter herbs [are dipped] in salt water at Passover to remind [Jews] of the tears of the slaves in Egypt." [KAYE, p. 45]

The traditional daily reminder of slavery and the supposed fact that thousands of years ago Jews were held in bondage is all the more peculiar when one tries to imagine what thoughts went through the minds of the many Jewish slave traders throughout history, merchants who were instrumental even in the slave trading of Europeans. These are the words of James Parkes, a respected philosemitic scholar, extremely sympathetic to Jews in his many volumes about their history:

"In the period from the fifth to eight centuries [Jews] gradually
took the place previously occupied by the Syrians as
'international' traders; and they continued, and perhaps,
developed, the trade in slaves." [PARKES, p. 17]

"While the Jews were... never... the only traders, it is possible
that the slave trade through north-eastern Europe to the Slav
countries and the land trades to the East were for practical
purposes Jewish monopolies. " [PARKES, p. 25]

"It would appear that Jews had little difficulty in obtaining slaves
in the eastern provinces of the empire and Poland, in spite of
the protection which acceptance of Christianity in those regions
should have given the inhabitants. References to this traffic in
Christian slaves are not infrequent. [PARKES, p. 45]

"The evidence is thus enough to show that the Church
possessed a genuine grievance against the section of the Jewish
population involved in the slave trade. But the misdeeds of
slave traders did not cease at the purchase of Christians in
eastern Europe. Agobard quotes cases -- and there is no reason
to refute his evidence -- of the theft of children in France for
sale to the Moors of Spain; and a chronicler of the middle of
the tenth century brings an even more unpleasant story of the
castration of boys in eastern France for their sale as eunuchs to
the Moorish harems, a trade which was, apparently, extremely
profitable." [PARKES, p. 46]

"In the tenth century," notes Jewish (and Zionist) author Julius Brutzkus, "the Jews possessed salt mines near Nuremberg. They also traded in arms, and exploited the treasuries of the churches. But their great specialty ... was their trade in slaves." [LEON, p. 124] "The first Jews that Poles encountered," states the Encyclopedia Judaica, "must certainly have been traders, probably slave traders, of the type called in the 12th-century Jewish sources holekhei rusyah (travelers to Russia). [EN JUD, v. 13, p. 710] "In the tenth century," notes Israel Abrahams, "the Spanish Jews often owed their wealth to their trade in slaves." [ABRAHAMS, p. 98]

Jews, says Lewis Browne, "traveled everywhere from England to India, from Bohemia to Egypt. Their commonest merchandise in those days, beginning with the eighth century, was slaves. On every high road and on every great river and sea, these Jewish traders were to be found with their gangs of shackled prisoners in convoy." Such disturbing facts that impugn the Jewish myths of perpetual victimhood must of course be apologized away. "Slave trading," says Browne, a Jewish scholar, "seems irredeemably vile and hateful to us today, but we must remember here again the standards have changed ...And in light of the customs of those times, the slave-traffickers were actually doing almost a moral act. They alone were keeping the conquering armies from slaughtering every one of their defeated foes after each battle." [WILLIAMS, J., p. 230]

Jewish apologists of course further argue that Jews were involved in the trade

Jews involvement in slavery| 5.25.09 @ 11:42AM

"Had the Jews been prevented from owning slaves it is likely that
they would have given up the slave trade and had they done this
the labor shortage that would have been created might have
caused an inestimable loss of life through sheer starvation."
[ABEL, p. 197]

"Slave traders were proverbially dishonest." [BARON, p. 193] And there were many legal hurdles that Jewish slave traders had to face, both from Christian authorities (who grew increasingly outraged by Jews owning Christian slaves), and their own rabbinical authorities when faced with the necessity of slaves' castration, for instance, to be eunuchs. Jewish religious texts forbade mutilation. This problem was easily resolved by resorting to a technicality; prospective Jewish slave owners merely hired non-Jews to do the operation before they formally bought them. [BARON, p. 191] Jewish writers in Spain complained more frequently than other places about the ethics of having slave concubines in Jewish households. [BARON, p. 194]

Jewish mythology claims a long history of moral superiority over others, and innocence. The original Ku Klux Klan (1865-1876), however, was not hostile to Jews and even had Jewish members, including Simon Baruch, the father of the Quarter-Master General of the Confederate Army. (The father of Bernard Baruch, the Chairman of the War Industries Board under President Woodrow Wilson in World War I, was a member of the Ku Klux Klan). [COIT, M., 1957, p. 12-13] The Secretary of State of the Confederacy (initially its Secretary of War) was also of Jewish birth, Judah P. Benjamin. [RUBINSTEIN, p. 20] After the war Benjamin fled to England. David de Leon was the first Surgeon General of the Confederacy. [GOLDBERG, M. H., 1976, p. 172] Other prominent Confederate Jews included Edwin Moise, Speaker of the Louisiana House; Raphael Moses who "was influential in leading Georgia out of the Union;" Henry Hyans, the Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana leading up to the Civil War; and Edwin de Leon, "whom Benjamin sent to Paris to handle public relations and propaganda for the South." "The prominent role of Jews in the Confederacy," notes Nathaniel Weyl, "is generally either ignored or condensed into shamefaced footnotes by those historians of American Jewry whose opinions conform to the liberal-leftist stereotype." [WEYL, N., 1968, p. 54]

I'd be careful about wishing the worst on Israel and the Jews. Mr. Obama should really read the Bible on God's intentions regarding His "stiff-necked people". Regardless, even though there are bad in any group, God has been, sorta, specific. As an example , just because the "Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion" is a Czarist fraud and believed by millions doesn't mean that God has turned His back on them.
