SLG-Some of us are quite disturbed (to put it lightly) by the 40+ MILLION Americans slaughtered since Roe v. Wade. We are also saddened and angered by a president who actually voted to allow infanticide to be practiced in Illinois when he was a state senator. I don't think anyone is choosing one issue over another. It's just another (of many) issue that Barack Obama is on the wrong side of for me. Another reason to be a strong voice of patriotic dissent.

SLG: ALL of the items you list are of equal importance (to me at least). Right or wrong, when one writes an article, it's best to pick a topic and stay with it. The topic in this article just so happens to be Obama's radical pro-abortion stance. It would literally take a novel to list all of his radical and socialist views.

It drives me nuts when people accuse conservatives of caring about only 1 or 2 issues. That is certainly not the case. I would remind you, however that the unalienable rights endowed by our creator start with LIFE: liberty and the pursuit of happiness follow the first. I believe that is because without the first, the others are not possible.

Furthermore, I don't recall anyone telling you to "shut up", unless I missed a post. I certainly wouldn't. Free speech is one of the most valuable rights we have. Remember, it would not exist in your world had your mother made a choice other than the one she made.

I think the article is a good one. Sadly, the liberals in this country prefer to offer more rights to convicted murderers and terrorists than they would offer an unborn human being. That is a true statement. I welcome your rebuttal to it, but please provide proof.

I think I'll call my mother now and thank her for making the "choice" she did :)

I haven't quite figured out what got SLG in such a lather, but this article never says that nothing matters besides abortion. I think it should be pointed out, though, that while many other issues are very important, if we do not have the right to life, the most basic right of all, we have no rights at all. No one has a right to be "pro-choice" regarding the taking of someone else's life. Mr. Obama imagines every other issue in the world to be well within his "pay grade." I'm not sure why figuring out that people have a fundamental right to not have their lives stolen from them is above that "grade."

In 1945-46 when much of the world was literally starving, and dieing in horrific fashion, the Supreme Command of Europe and the State Department began an very lengthy and expensive investigation of the murder of 6 million Jews. While this was going on, Communist riots and insurrections were occuring in France, Italy, and Greece. Palestine was in civil war, Indo-China had a full blown revolution as did China and parts of North Africa.

In the US, a very sharp recession was taking hold as millions of vets were returning and the DOD was dis-arming.

With all of these problems, why in the world would the US and Great Britain care if a few million Jews were murdered? The Soviets at the time refused to stand-down thier 320 combat divisions in Europe (roughly 3 million men, 25000 tanks, and 100,000 guns). With the Soviets poised to "finish the job", why do you think Truman and his State Dept risk diplomacy investigating Nazis atrocities?

In 3 years some 50 million babies were violently butchered. I think a nation that can do that has more problems than what you describe. Truman knew that Justice is the foundation of any civilization. What we are doing now is not only unjust, but barbaric. A nation that can slaughter its own children is capable of any sin.

The same lying politician who believes that children who survive an abortion should be left to die also believes that terrorists who slaughter Americans should be allowed to live...do you really think that this same slimeball is going to care about your rights to free speech or self defense? Do you think he cares whether illegal aliens steal your job, sell drugs to your kids or cancel out your vote? For that matter, do you notice there are NO Dems or libs out there arguing that the President should stop "obessing" with abortion and get on with socializing the banks or sucking up to the bomb throwers in Iran?

The libs understand that all these issues are inextricably linked; that's why they proceed forward on all issues and all fronts at all times. We conservatives must do no less.

A few weeks ago George Will, a very well known columnist with some conservative credentials, wrote an article bemoaning the predominance of blue denim trousers in American society. I felt a small piece of the lather you seem to be in at that time, considering the grave issues that are all around us. Of course, some might argue that an obsession with other people's garment choices at a time when the world is smouldering and our great nation is stumbling towards socialized ruin is unworthy of a serious political writer. Well, SLG, George Will may be heading in the direction of Maureen Dowd or Paul Begala, Olberman or Matthews, but this matter is really worth having a clear opinion about, as well as many of the issues you have raised. As Mark Steyn puts it, "the future belongs to those who turn up for it" . If we continue to countenance our genocidal abortion policy, and allow it to be sanitized by referring to it as "choice", we really don't need to wonder what the future will look like. It will be ugly.

SLG, what you seem to be failing to grasp is that we are all working together to defeat the Community Organizer and his minions on ALL of these subjects, and that we can reverse his murderous policies on abortion at the same time. That is what we will be doing in the next two elections: replacing first his enablers in Congress, then replacing him. And we will do this with candidates who are pro-liberty, pro-capitalism, pro-defense, and pro-life all at the same time.

It's voters like you who have me worried, though. November will roll around, and you'll be saying how much you want to strip Obama of power, but those fool Republicans have sided with the unborn again, so you just can't bring yourself to pull the opposition lever. And then you'll blame us. Reflect, and persuade yourself that that would be a grave error.

As for our friend David Mathews, he says "You voted for George W. Bush, right? You loved Sarah Palin, right?" as though those are bad things. Looking back, I see George W. Bush winning two elections, presiding over nearly seven years of prosperity (brought down in the end only by the machinations of the Democrats), and keeping the country safe and strong, even to the point of finally persuading our often reluctant allies, who responded by electing new conservative governments more in line with our own. Looking ahead, I see Sarah Palin or someone like her picking up the pieces of our wrecked republic once we have chased this mistake-in-chief out of office.

Come on, SLG, let's all do this together. The weeping from the David Mathewses of the world alone would make it worth it.
