Limbaugh continued speaking, while I went to grab two ice-cold
bottled waters and returned to hand one to Onakoya.
"How did the United States of America become the world's lone
superpower, the world's economic engine, the most prosperous
opportunity for an advanced lifestyle that humanity has ever
known? How did this happen? And why, pray tell, does the
president of the United States want to destroy it? It saddens
me.…
"President Obama is so busy trying to foment and create
anger in a created atmosphere of crisis, he's so busy fueling the
emotions of class envy that he's forgotten it's not his money
he's spending. In fact, the money he's spending is not ours. He
is spending wealth that has yet to be created, and that is not
sustainable. It will not work."
Onakoya applauded along with many others, both in the hospitality
suite and in the ballroom, as Rush paid tribute to the greatness
of America and her people. And he listened as Limbaugh discussed,
with tremendous passion, the human wreckage created by decades of
liberal policy and the message of victimhood that Democrats
convey to the poor.
"It breaks our heart to see this," Rush said. "We can't have a
great country and a growing economy, with more and more people
being told…that they have a right to the earnings of others."
From the corner of my eye, through the window, I saw the cab at
the head of the queue in front of the Omni Shoreham roll forward
to pick up a fare. I nudged Onakoya to indicate that his services
were needed outside as the taxi herd was slowly rearranged.
"Thank you so much," the cabbie told me, after we'd pushed
through the door and were strolling back toward the driveway. I
assured Onakoya that the pleasure was entirely mine, and that it
was he who deserved gratitude, not I.
Today at 12:06 p.m., while Fairway Cab No. 1 rolls through the
streets of Washington, the taxi's radio will carry the voice of a
man who cares more for the opinion of cab drivers than for the
praise of elitists. Rush looks at this country's Wally Onakoyas
and sees like-minded souls engaged with him in the "relentless
pursuit of excellence."
Why do the liberal elitists insist we should see such proudly
independent Americans as something else, or something less?
Here are my thoughts. I watched the entire speech standing right
in front of the t.v. - you know, when you really want to pay
attention, you stand right in front.
He was fabulous in all ways. Where can I buy a copy and email it
to everyone I know.
The black shirt and jacket were a little south Florida/Miami for
my tastes, though, and he fiddle with his nose too much. But I
started to love all of that as he really got going. You could
tell he was having fun and getting in all the points we were all
hoping he would.
If there is anyone out there that wonders why anyone would listen
to Rush, now you know.
john ollis| 3.2.09 @ 6:22AM
I was also yelling and hooting at the tv when Rush was speaking.
Not since Reagan...... Love dit all
Ted Agnew| 3.2.09 @ 6:51AM
While I enjoyed the speech it was too long, rambling, unfocused,
and undisciplined. Newt Gingrich said more in 30 minutes than
Limbaugh said in an hour and a half.
Limbaugh made great points, but so did Newt, who was sharp and
focused. Newt was so good, I actually started to re-consider him
for POTUS. My man Mitt was pretty flat.
All that being said Rush’s points on the pursuit of happiness and
the specifics on why we should want Nobama to fail were
important. It needed to be said.
Country Boy| 3.2.09 @ 7:04AM
Yeah, Rush was good, but Newt hit it out of the park.
With zero boy, we are really in a parallel universe, something
out of the Twilight Zone.
Just a bit of what Rush said, "We want every American to be the
best he or she chooses to be. We recognize that we are all
individuals. We love and revere our founding documents, the
Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. We believe that
the preamble to the Constitution contains an inarguable truth
that we are all endowed by our creator with certain inalienable
rights, among them life. [Applause] Liberty, Freedom. [Applause]
And the pursuit of happiness. [Applause] Those of you watching at
home may wonder why this is being applauded. We conservatives
think all three are under assault." Amen and Amen.

He proven, once again, he's a great entertainer in the field of
political punditry. But as we all know, he can be corrosive,
cynical and injurious to dialogue in the body politic. And he
loves to hatemonger like no other... save AlFranken.
Rush is like that obnoxious aunt from New Jersey or Long
Island... so full of themselves you wonder how they can stand
living with themselves, strong opinions on everything and
anything, always corrective of others because it makes her feel
superior, quite willing to scortch the Earth if it will denude
her opponents and your willing to tolerate her because there's
something evil in her eyes that makes you fearful of her
uncomprimising and uneven wrath -warranted or unwarranted. And
with both, you sigh relief when they're gone.
And one other thing: they both share the annoying, grating
irritating whiney voice that trembles on the edge of insecure
faux-confidence of "I know it all" and playing the guilt card of
"Why don't you agree with me on everything". Rush is Dr Laura
without the tits... well, maybe he's got 'em too.
I just hope the MSM and Obama aren't successful in portraying
RushBlow as the new voice of the GOP... he can be the voice of
conservatives (good riddance) if Sarah Palin will move over --but
all that "loyal opposition" nonsense from him is pure theatre and
it's hurting the GOP brand. It's like he learned nothing from Tom
Delay et al.
Rush is kind of like a used snake oil salesmen who can always

it's made him, like Barnum-Bailey, a very very rich man.

Michigan-Matt;
Thank you for making my point. You don't challenge anything he
says; just the fact that he says them.
M-Matt, maybe YOU could say something that would be inspirational
from where you're coming from...
HOPE...for what?
CHANGE...to what? Or back to what?
And how 'bout a specific example of Rush hatemongering?
Now bear in mind it needs to be visceral hatred of an individual
or group, not just criticism of what they stand for. Otherwise,
YOU QUALIFY AS A HATEMONGER TOO.

AIG is losing $460 Million dollars per minute. This Bailout

idea. Under George Bush, and Obama should stop it now, $30
Billion is the next move, it's said they can't allow it to fail.
they should have should have been allowed to fail in the first
instance. AIG is dead and no amount of money can save it. It;s
said it will cost nearly one Trillion to save, dump it.

They key part of what Rush said, among many great things: we do
not "hire" a president to change all the great attributes and
foundations of our country that the founders put in place vis a
vis the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, and
that have made us the greatest nation on earth. For BO to try to
do that makes him a haughty narcissist in the mold of Hitler,
Stalin, et al.
Louis Jenkins| 3.2.09 @ 10:44AM
Watching Mr. Limbaugh was not much different from listening to
his radio broadcast. He did say on his radio show last week he
would not have a prepared speech, and was more comfortable
speaking from the hip, although he appeared to look down from
time to time at some papers or a text. The crowd was with him and
he recognized a good opportunity to whip them up. It would have
been better had he worn a tie, but he can afford to dress as he
desires as the Democrat leaders have named him “The Head of the
Republican Party.” He didn’t even go to college but he’s the most
feared, hated, and talked about man on the right side of the
aisle. Really folks, he is not the default leader of the GOP, but
he is the current speaker of the conservative movement. His
address on the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence
was perhaps the most inspiring. Although there may be many
diverse thoughts and ideas about our country and government we
should revere and respect those founding documents. (It is not
wise or reasonable, nor sound to interpret in such a manner as to
add or take away from them.) That is the commonality that every
dyed in the wool US patriot/citizen, including Mr. Limbaugh, has
or should have for those sanctified documents. Those documents
give us the responsibility to be our best and not to be a burden
to others. For that, I agree with him.
Texas Male| 3.2.09 @ 10:45AM
You can hate Rush, but you cannot silence him. That is what
infuriates those such as "the haughty one", the philanderer-
in-chief", "dinghy Harry", and "the messiah". Do not expect Rush
to be politically correct CNN. The majority of Americans detest
PC as much as we love Rush. He is, and has been for sixteen
years, the patron saint of conservatism. His ideals are
unwavering unlike the majority of Republicans.
The question I have Rush is this:
Given the radical and dangerous shift in America and the
unprecedented assault to our constitution combined with the utter
capitulation of the GOP, why don't you REALLY lead the movement
you head (conservatism) and start a grassroots campaign to create
a viable third party that can really make fledgling protests like
the tea parties have an impact? You can still keep your day job,
just acknowledge the fact the we are not just "in the
wilderness", we are in fact ruderless and will NEVER be
successful under the corrupt and restrictive two party system.
Rush, throughout our early American history the real shake-ups
have occured under pressure from organized outside agitation
bringing the angry, popular sentiment to bear in realpolitik.
jrharp| 3.2.09 @ 10:58AM
Ruh roh. Looks like we have a couple of differing points of view.
The "base" and the RNC Chairman.
"Last night, RNC Chairman Michael Steele appeared on D.L.
Hughley’s show on CNN and disputed Hughley’s statement that Rush
Limbaugh “is the de facto leader of the Republican Party.” “I’m
the de facto leader of the Republican Party!” Steele insisted.
Steele admitted that Limbaugh’s shtick is “incendiary” and
“ugly”:
STEELE: So let’s put it into context here. Let’s put it into
context here. Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer. Rush Limbaugh, his
whole thing is entertainment. Yes, it’s incendiary. Yes, it’s
ugly.
Mr. Steele, you cannot appoint yourself leader of the people. The
people choose their own leaders.
Ashleigh Brilliant (for Californians from the late Sixties) once
put out one of his post cards that said "I'm supposed to be
leading the parade -- which way did it go?"
Mr. Steele, it went thattaway. And I think Rush was leading it.
Texas Male| 3.2.09 @ 11:07AM
There is a perfect storm of shifting politics, economical
distress, and fear that leaves the American system ripe for
negative transformation....and it is happening rapidly.
The sytem is also ripe for the rapid rise of a third party
(unlike previous attempts when they were just novelties). The
left has always been better at obnoxiously pushing these types of
movements and grassroots campaigns on to the American scene. Are
we going to let them beat us to the punch or are we going to take
the unprecedented opportunity afforded us and bum-RUSH the system
with our well crafted, unwavering, truly American ideals?
Time is running out!

Tim| 3.2.09 @ 11:25AM
Actually, conservatives may look back at this current time period
and refer to it as the time
"Liberalism and the welfare state finally Died"
Every movement has got to have their bon voyage......their last
big.....party........
It is exactly what Obama is doing now with breaking every pledge
and spending money like three drunken sailors on their last
sailing ship down memory lane........
He's good, he's smooth.....but he really ain't the Lord
God.......so he can't walk on water.
He will only be able to use that 'First African American
President Line" for just a while longer....
What these characters forgot is that America is still a center
right nation and most folks remember what people promise,
especially if these promises are broken within months of making
the actual pledges. People are usually color blind when it comes
to liars and cheats.
What will unfold during the next few months will be horrific for
the country but really fatal for the long term prospects of the
welfare state.
It's kind of the " Dapper Don" Syndrome.
John Gotti just couldn't leave well enough alone,
no, he had to shove his $2000.00 silk suits and his $1000.00 pair
of shoes in everyone's face.

In " Taxi Driver Dittos, Rush ", McCain relays a brief story of his interaction with a D.C. cabbie originally from Nigeria who loves Limbaugh. Here's an excerpt: Cabs lined up with engines idling outside…
Rush is the only speaker who can compete with Barak The
Wonderful. Even Barak has been losing his edge lately. No wonder
the pathetic Dems want to use the power of the state to silence
him. I also saw Gingrich's speech, which was excellent. This
defeat of the RINO Republican Party will have a salutary effect
on the party and, after a terrible time, on our country. Our
goal, enunciated so wonderfully by Rush, should be to finally end
the progress of statism which has been slowly growing like a
cancer in our nation since 1933. The fact is clear; there are too
many people expecting entitlements for an economy enfeebled by
socialism to satisfy even a small fraction of their hopes. The
truth needs to be spoken loudly and one Rush serves to counter a
blizzard of rationalizations and lies by the left--who are wrong
now and have always been wrong. Michigan Matt is living in the
collapsing ruins created by their wrongness. So am I, as a
resident of California. The Dems and the Public Employee Unions
are driving this formerly prosperous state into bankruptcy. There
is a limit to the idiocy of even voters in blue states and the
profound failure of Obama and the liberals in the Democratic
Party will result in a disastrous defeat for them in 2010.

you who wallows in your petty little hatreds and jealousies.
Michael Steele is the Republican chairman. Rush is the avatar of
the conservative movement. Different things.
Now go down to your squalid little basement and get your fix,
Sarah Palin is coming for you....
Jeremiah| 3.2.09 @ 3:07PM
I watched Rush's speech last night. He obviously did what he set
out to do: coach-at-half-times, 13 points behind.
What is so strange to me was watching Rush's speech only a half
hour or so after I finally found time to watch Jindal's response
to Obama Tuesday.
The difference is astonishing. I know that Jindal has to govern
and Rush just has to entertain (in the end), but the disparity
between the two men could not be overlooked.
Rush's politics drive me up a wall. But I like him, and believe
ultimately he's a humane and honest person. I believe him when he
says he wants a society in which all can succeed if they work for
it, although I disagree that his politics would achieve that.

The last time the GOP solicited by mail for a donation I sent

I support the fact that generating socio-economic growth and
development would be efficient to both the country as well as its
citizens. As reported by Med Yones, a global economy specialist
“The degree and speed of change has posed enormous challenges for
nations, organizations and people. We are all feeling the
influence of these changes, whether it’s the global competition,
social re-engineering, political and military conflicts,
outsourcing or power shifts”. It’s up to our government to
improve this situation in US. Additional information on the topic

Another disgusting, politically correct screed - so the
immigrant, presumably black, Nigerian is a Rush supporter.
Subliminal message: Conservatives have their minority supporters
and everyone loves Rush. Spare us, Rush is an entertainer, like a
baseball player or a movie star, that's how he makes his money,
entertaining, and that's nothing to be ashamed of. President
Obama, if you caught his speech, is also an entertainer and will
become a multi-millionaire playing Mr. President, just as Bill
Clinton became wealthy in the same role.
But, wise-up Conservatives, this PC twaddle means nothing in the
long run. Across town from CPAC, it's the Democrats who occupy
the seats of power and they have plenty of adoring cab drivers of
their own - and based on the constant standing ovations, more
than a few of those are in Congress. Face it, when it comes to
gathering cab drivers, minorities, govt. employees and blue
collar workers, the Democrats have you heavily outnumbered and
intend to press their advantage to the max.
If there is some psychological comfort in reading this hero
worship nonsense, you deserve what you're going to get. The Dems
plan to shake you down, tax your wealth and give it to their
supporters. Conservatives need to be looking at off-shore
investments, let the Dems "Buy American". Conservatives need to
be hoarding their wealth, looking at commodities as investments,
looking at places overseas, currently legal, as a haven to park
their funds. If Rush or Ann were to teach Conservative survival
tactics and how to hide your freedom and your wealth from the
statist Democrats, the adoration would be fully justified.
The best defense is a good offense, but this backslapping and
cheering while you're being prepared for the cannibal's feast is
just plain silly, and in the end self-defeating.

"And how 'bout a specific example of Rush hatemongering?"
Geee, if we only get to pick one then how about the illegal
immigration era attempt to portray all illegals as murderers,
thieves, unlicensed drivers, ungrateful servants or --the one not
mentioned by Rush-- couriers and drug merchants for illegal
prescription drugs like Oxycontin for rich white fat men?
Rush was patently baiting racists and conservatives with those
characterization of illegals as wanton criminals --as opposed to
hard working employees (18+ hr days) in manual labor at
rock-bottom wages and no benefits. And I know, before the usual
far Right Wing claptrap here starts spouting that the illegals
were criminals because they broke the law to get into the
country... I ask, pick up the first stone and cast it if you
dare. We all break equally insignificant laws nearly every day...
speeding to work, parking illegally, cheating on our taxes, etc.
And if we want to talk about the most hypocritical example of
Rush speaking out of both sides of his mouth? How about the
constant kluck-kluck of Rush's mantra about irresponsible lower
class people doing drugs? And then, we learn through the honest
reporting of the MSM, that Rush was a drug abusing addict who, in
part, used illegal workers to mule his supply.
Now, that's the pot calling the kettle black.
Someone said he's Dr Laura with tits? Nope, he's a lot worse --he
knows he's pandering to a dangerous crowd and he baits them just
the same.
I wonder how many attacks on muslim-looking people or gays can be
attributed to Rush's hateful broadcasts? Probably hundreds.
Ugh, the man is a pox on a thinking society.

Perhaps in your infinite wisdom, you can explain what was racist
about Limbo's remarks on ESPN.
He said he thought McNabb was overrated; that the Eagles
(all-black) defense should get most of the credit for the team's
success. And, that 1 of the reasons for McNabb's "overratedness"
was the white media's desire to see black QBs succeed, which
desire he did not criticize, just observe. Where exactly is the
racism?

"I don’t understand why you’re asking Republicans to donate to
the Republican National Committee if their money is going to be
spent furthering the agenda of Barack Obama? If we don’t want
Obama and Reid and Pelosi to fail, then why does the RNC exist,
Mr. Steele? Why are you even raising money?…"
"I’m not in charge of the Republican Party, and I don’t want to
be. I would be embarrassed to say that I’m in charge of the
Republican Party in a sad-sack state that it’s in. If I were
chairman of the Republican Party, given the state that it’s in, I
would quit. I might get out the hari-kari knife because I would
have presided over a failure that is embarrassing to the
Republicans and conservatives who have supported it and invested
in it all these years…"
"When you send those fundraising requests out, Mr. Steele, make
sure you say, we — we — we want Obama to succeed. So people
understand your compassion. Republicans, conservatives are sick
and tired of being talked down to, sick and tired of being
lectured to. And until you show some understanding and respect
for who they are, you’re going to have a tough time rebuilding
your party."
THAT, is going to be good for fundraising.
And it really tickles me hearing the long time mouthpiece and
enabler of the failed republicans blame it on the guy who has

Here’s Our Top 10 Racist Rush Limbaugh Quotes
1. "I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country
for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the
opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring
it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the
streets were safer after dark."
2. "You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl
Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you,
James. Godspeed."
3. "Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted
criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?"
4. "Right. So you go into Darfur and you go into South Africa,
you get rid of the white government there. You put sanctions on
them. You stand behind Nelson Mandela — who was bankrolled by
communists for a time, had the support of certain communist
leaders. You go to Ethiopia. You do the same thing."
5. "Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often
looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any
weapons. There, I said it."
6. "The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a
liquor store and practice robberies."
7. "They’re 12 percent of the population. Who the hell
cares?"
8. "Take that bone out of your nose and call me back(to an
African American female caller)."
9. "I think the media has been very desirous that a black
quarterback do well. They’re interested in black coaches and
black quarterbacks doing well. I think there’s a little hope
invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance
of his team that he really didn’t deserve."
10. Limbaugh attacks on Obama. Limbaugh has called Obama a
‘halfrican American’ has said that Obama was not black but Arab
because Kenya is an Arab region, even though Arabs are less than
one percent of Kenya. Since mainstream America has become more
accepting of African-Americans, Limbaugh has decided to play
against its new racial fears, Arabs and Muslims. Despite the fact
Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law school, Limbaugh
has called him an ‘affirmative action candidate.’ Limbaugh even
has repeatedly played a song on his radio show ‘Barack the Magic
Negro’ using an antiquated Jim Crow era term for black a man who
many Americans are supporting for president. Way to go Rush.

The dittoheads are victims of their own bad karma. The Republican
Party and Rush Limbaugh have been trying to divide America for
many years now, sowing the seeds of discord and disunity. "Divide
and conquer" has been their strategy, their M.O. until now -- but
lo and behold, two-thirds of the nation seem to have come
together under the umbrella of unity - unity of purpose, unity of
intent and unity around the idea that progressive values are
worth fighting for.
The GOP and Rush are victims of their own bad blood and the
negativity they've been spewing for years. In truth, of course,
they are not victims - they are only victims to their own
ignorance and prejudice.

Everyon here has it wrong. The Liberals want the country to go
Socialist, that is true, but it is for our own good. They believe
so very strongly in the fabric of the American People that they
believe we can do anything, even if no one else could. So, the
fact that Socialism has been an abject failure everywhere else is
seen merely as a challenge.. when the American people see the
bottom that BO wants to show them (and yes it will stink just
like BO) the liberals believe that the people will rise up
together... united ..and show the world how Socialism can really
be done. Meanwhile BO and his liberal pals will be driving fine
cars, eating nice steaks and wearing $30,000 diamond rings (gift

No not everyon (sic) has it wrong. You have it wrong. The
Liberals do not want the country to go Socialist, (Limpo has you
all so abrainwashed over that term it's sickening.) the Liberals
being liberal, want everyone, Democrat and Republican to have a
better America. The real problem is that Repugs only want the
country for themselves and screw everyone else. We just had 8
years of Bush/Chaney as a prime example. If the Repugs and Limpo
cared about the true concept of 'e pluibus unum', they wouldn't

Rush was fabulous. He is just one of the many reasons why I left
the liberal left wing party. The party of "tolerance and
compassion," as long as you agree with them. They can never
debate, they just belittle. If you don't agree with them, they
call you a racist and a bigot, the big buzz words to shut you up,
as we have just seen above. They can only repeat endless talking
points over and over like stepford wives. I, frankly, am sick of
the BS from these people.
and if you want to talk drugs, we could talk all night about
Obama's drug use. He's all but bragged about it, like it is cool.
He may still be doing it, for all we know about the guy. That
must be why he always has to use that darn teleprompter (it kills
brain cells) and has that big goofy smile. Maybe that is why he
thinks there are 57 states, or why he doesn't know half the time
where he is, or why he tried to get in a window at the White
House, instead of the door, or why he hit his head on Air Force
One?
I would love to see Obama and Rush in a debate. Of course, Obama
would have the questions before hand, and have his teleprompter,
just in case. Rush would wipe the floor with Obama and then Obama
would cry,"racist."
Obama doesn't have a clue as to who he is. but, he will be
anything you want him to be: the Messiah, God, Jesus, your
savior. You pick and he will oblige. The great pretender.

found it in the freedoms that our capitalist system provides, not
in the socialist pipe-dreams of fools like Obama. I also believe
that, in line with Mr. Onakoya's personal story, much of our

I have an answer for all those ditto-heads who are upset with the
GOP and Michael Steele's non-apologetic apology... go vote for
the Libertarian or fascist or Neo-Native or KnowNothing party in
your area.
Rush isn't the voice of the GOP and, by his own admission, he
doesn't want to be. Afterall, it was conservative movement's
GOPers in Congress like Tom Delay and Duke Cunningham and Bill
Frist and Trent Lott who ran the Party's brand into the ground.
These were men who thought of themselves as conservatives first,
Republicans second... the label "patriot" was somewhere in a
distant 4th or 5th place for them given their conduct.
The RushBlow vs. Steele send-up is nothing more than a
fabrication of the MSM intent on making news by selling
"controversy". RushBlow is a biggggg boi with a thin skin these
days but he's a great entertainer and political pundit.
Some people like his take on America and enjoy listening to
RushBlow cream the opposition --whoever that boogeyman is for
that day. He's made millions off selling fear, anger and bigotry
to his version of the common man and they -his fan base- love it.
Dr Laura did it on the culture wars in the 90's. Father Charles
E. Coughlin did it in the 30's. It's nothing new.
More power to RushBlow. Is he the leader of the GOP? Hell no. Is
he a leader of anything short of some radio talk show markets?
Not really. But his fans won't let anyone say that without trying
to shout the opposition down. "He's our god"; "He's the Obama
antidote"; "He's truth to power".
He's first and foremost an entertainer and he can feed the rabid
crowds red meat all day... at the end of the day, he's still just
an entertainer who does political punditry.
No different than Keith Olbermann or Bill OReilly or any other
sort of self-important talk show entertainer/character.
It isn't journalism. It's entertaining commentary on politics and
some of his fans view him as their own Messiah and Voice.
But no one, except the farLeft and MSM, think he's the voice of
the GOP. And that's a GOOD thing.

Nick (and his bevy of fake-posters) queries a likely
mirror-poster: "Why does Cliff Clavin, a.k.a. Mich-Matt, think
Duke Cunningham was a member of the GOP leadership?"
Well, bigot boi, if you knew something about another corrupted
social conservative and marginal GOPer who played tandem with Tom
Delay, you'd know something about Duke Cunningham. Let's go to
school, bigot boi.
Item 1: he was personally recruited by soc-cons to run in a GOP
primary against incumbent moderate GOPer Rick Lowery; Cunningham
won.
Item 2: the soc-cons inside the Caucus rewarded him with sweet
seats on Approps and Intel --in fact he ended chairing a SubCom
in Intel, no small feat, that, unless you're golden with
leadership.
Item 3: he had a near perfect rating from the American
Conservative Union --a soc con group that tracks congressional
votes and is widely judged to be the real voice of conservatives
(not like RushBlow)
Item 4: he was selected by Delay's buddies to sponsor the
soc-con's wet dream of a Flag Desecration Amendment (good God,
ugh) and he buddied up with JohnBlackJackMurtha to do it.
Item 5: there's all the double-faced issues a) involving his
tough on crime stance... but pleading for light sentencing for
his druggie son; b) being against the moral decay in society...
but taking prostitutes and free trips from defense contractors;
c) home mortgages paid by US Coast Guard contractors; special
favors for steering defense contracts to friends... who then gave
him bribes, favors, gifts and more hookers.
Item 7: Cunningham served as Vice Chair of the Republican
Campaign Committee, interim Chair and Vice Chair of the House GOP
Policy Caucus and on and on and on.
Geeeeesh, Nick the troll, what part of GOP leadership don't you
get? Worse yet, he was one of your team's (the radical soc-cons
inside the GOP Caucus) poster boys.
Yeah, I thought that would shut you up for a bit. But just a bit.
Nick| 3.4.09 @ 12:08AM
OK Cliff, you got me. Duke was technically a member of the
leadership. I was wrong about that. Thanks for the info.
But having a high ACU rating doesn't make you a leader. He wasn't
the face of the GOP. That would have been Newt, Armey, and Delay.
Nor was he the face of social conservatism, if there even is one.
Nobody had heard of Duke until he was indicted. Unless you knew
he was a war hero. He was low on the totem pole, and fairly
anonymous, unless you're a congressional hack.
You seem to have forgotten one item, when did Duke piss in your
Wheaties? Is that why you constantly mention him? He slapped you
around on the Hill, maybe? How petty of you. You also forgot to
mention BILL Lowery was also a crook. RICH Lowry edits National
Review, dope.
I also see Thaddeus McCotter is now Chairman of the Republican
Policy Committee. Don't go postal now, Clavin.
Michigan-Matt| 3.4.09 @ 7:18AM
Nick --and the literal legion of fake names you post under here
and elsewhere-- I didn't say that Cunningham was a part of the
GOP leadership because he had high ACU ratings. I was using that
fact to demonstrate Cunningham was, indeed, a conservative... a
social conservative and part of your darkened niche of the Party.
Because, usually with knuckle-draggers trying to deflect
criticism about the corruption of our Party by their fellow
soc-cons, you guys pop the silly notion that Cunningham wasn't a
soc-con... he was... ready for this?... a moderate RINO.
Yeah, it gets pretty silly out there in "we gotta defend the
idiots" land. Blame avoidance by you guys is at an all time high
right now.
But like a clock, you're right at least twice a day and you are
correct on Cunningham knocking off Bill Lowery, not "Rick
Lowery".
Nothing petty on my part about reminding you knuckle-dragging,
corrupt as BarneyFrank soc-cons that your poster boys in Tom
Delay and Duke Cunningham DETROYED the GOP brand --despite the
GOP having some great governors, great Senators and great mayors
out there.
And that's point you really want to ignore, isn't Nick of a 1000
posters.
The responsibility of soc-cons ruining the Party and now, wanting
to scapegoat that blame onto moderate GOPers, GOPers in general
and anyone else other than the corrupt soc-cons who did the dirty
deed.
Nice try at deflection. You lost... again. How about Tom Delay
not being a soc-con leader of the GOP Caucus in Congress, Nick of
a 1000 posters? You sidestepped that pile of dung in your flips,
twists and diversions.
At least you didn't use 1/2 dozen fake-named posts to prop up
your failing, feeble and impotent argument this time. I guess
that's a little progress we can be happy about for now.
Nick| 3.4.09 @ 9:47AM
Mich-Matt,
No, like Rush, I'm certified right 98.99% of the time!
Deal with what I actually write and try not to infer in the
future, OK? I don't try to disown Duke or argue he was a
moderate. He was a social conservative, he just wasn't a leader
or well known to the average soc con. And he was a crook and
deserves to be in prison. If I had my way, 3/4 of congress would
be locked up. I abhor corruption.
Tom Delay wasn't perfect either. But I'm not scapegoating anyone.
The GOP acted like the democrat party and paid the price, period.
This your humble servant Nick, who can admit his mistakes, one
man crying out in the wilderness. The only help I get is from
above.
Michigan-Matt| 3.4.09 @ 12:31PM
Nick: "I don't try to disown Duke or argue he was a moderate. He
was a social conservative, he just wasn't a leader or well known
to the average soc con. "
I never said you did, Nick of the 1000 posters. I said some of
your ilk try that dodge and it doesn't cut it.
I agree with you: let's stay on what you actually write and not
infer in the future... like you did above with my comments whilst
complaining about it being done to you.
And like a stopped clock, you're wrong MOST of the day. The GOP
didn't act like the Democrat Party... the soc-cons took the
Congress down a path of ever-more ridiculous social conservative
activism while being double-faced and corrupt. They hurt the GOP
brand and now they want a bigger seat at the table, they want to
purge the Party of anything that isn't pure enough to pass their
special sniff tests and they continue to fail to take
responsibility for damage... blaming the Party when they should
be leveling the criticism and blame on the soc-cons inside and
outside the Party.
Michele Malkin does it routinely. Delay was still doing it as
late as yesterday afternoon on ChrisMatthews show. CPAC was a
virtual finger-pointing convention --aiming their crooked little
digits everywhere but inside the conventional hall and RushBlow
was their own personal cheerleader egging on the runaway train
that left Reality Station.
I'm glad you hate corruption. I do too. And I like apple pie,
baseball and Chevys but that don't cut it. The future of the
Party lies outside the soc-cons who took it for a ride in
Congress. We need to be less about social issue litmus tests and
more about building coalitions that can win on Election Day.
Conservatives can go do their litmus tests on each other; just
don't get in the way of progress.

Rush is driving at.
If you want to kill racism.... don't ever bring your race card up

Liberty or Death| 3.4.09 @ 1:26PM
My party is the Republican party Michigan-Matt. I am certainly
not trying to defend everything they've done. In fact, as of
late, they have been down right disappointing: Bush trying to
outspend Democrats at every turn of his presidency, McCain
nomination, Stevens corruption, Arlen Specter/Snow etc. voting
for the largest pork bill ever, and the list goes on...
Like most on this website, I am a conservative first. However,
that being said, the conservative movement is still alive in the
Republican party. Yeah, I know they've fallen way short of our
expectations. I also know the Republican party absent
conservatisim is simply Democrat Lite. And if you've ever tasted
Miller Lite, you know what I am talking about when I say I'd
rather drink something else. Republican Lite will never win
elections.
As Nick pointed out, there is a lot of corruption on both sides
of the aisle.
Whether you like it or not the two parties will always be about
social issues. You can thank our court system for forcing social
issues like abortion and gay marriage on the American people. And
don't act all self-righteous. The Democrats are pushing social
politics as much, if not more, than Republicans ever have.
Where have you been living all these years? Those idiots you
elected have destroyed the family with social "welfare,"
sanctioned the murder of millions of babies, and pushed every
type of liberal "social" agenda we have. It's simply ignorant to
say, "soc-cons took the Congress down a path of ever-more
ridiculous social conservative activism," without ever
recognizing the social disintegration of our society perpetrated
by Democrats.
Here it is, I'll lay it out for you: Republicans/conservatives
(baring several bad apples) have always stood for morals, what is
right and just. Religion aside, they are also for our most
hallowed document, the Constitution of the United States of
America. We are not forcing conversion on you. Get over yourself!
A society cannot exist without morals. Democrats have always
stood against morals of anykind; they are constantly trying to
rewrite our nation's history and constitution.
There are many perplexing questions I have for anyone who claims
they are "religious" and votes Democrat. Abortion, alone, is such
a stain on this nation, I cannot imagine ever voting for a
Democrat. Heck, even if I agreed with them 95% of the time (which
I never would), I could not in good conscious cast my vote for
the wholesale murder of millions of Americans.
So you see Michigan Matt, the line in the sand was drawn by you
moronic liberals long ago on social issues. Don't blame
conservatives for fighting back.

Liberals don't want to kill 'racism', it's their battering ram.

L/D says: "Like most on this website, I am a conservative first."
Guess what, L/D? I'm a GOPer first and I do know that the
soc-cons took the Party for a long ride out in the trailer park,
took a few potshots from the speeding car at the neighborhood
cat, squirrel and lots of others, crashed the car, got caught by
the police and now, like the good soc-cons at CPAC, are
complaining that they aren't responsible for the wreck, the dead
cats, the totaled car or the ticket.
Give it a rest.
The liberal agenda got pushed aside by Reagan's leadership and 12
yrs of strong GOP control of the WH. Clinton, as much as I
dislike the man, was a center-Right Democrat. The soc-cons inside
the GOP controlled the Congressional agenda from Newt's Contract
to Delay's imperial rule.
I'm tired of hearing soc-cons say "I'm a social conservative
first and if the GOP stays to the farRight on my issues, I might
vote for their candidate.
Sorry, L/D. The GOP I want to grow some balls doesn't need the
soc-cons. We need independent voters. We need moderates. We need
female voters. We need voters who will be loyal -and disloyal- on
Election Day.
You go be a "conservative" all day long and rail against the
Party; take RushBlow's angry-white-man-pissing-in-his-boots
talking points to bed with you, if you want. Just stay the Hell
out of my Party.

Here are my thoughts. I watched the entire speech standing right in front of the t.v. - you know, when you really want to pay attention, you stand right in front.
He was fabulous in all ways. Where can I buy a copy and email it to everyone I know.
The black shirt and jacket were a little south Florida/Miami for my tastes, though, and he fiddle with his nose too much. But I started to love all of that as he really got going. You could tell he was having fun and getting in all the points we were all hoping he would.
If there is anyone out there that wonders why anyone would listen to Rush, now you know.
john ollis| 3.2.09 @ 6:22AM
I was also yelling and hooting at the tv when Rush was speaking. Not since Reagan...... Love dit all
Ted Agnew| 3.2.09 @ 6:51AM
While I enjoyed the speech it was too long, rambling, unfocused, and undisciplined. Newt Gingrich said more in 30 minutes than Limbaugh said in an hour and a half.
Limbaugh made great points, but so did Newt, who was sharp and focused. Newt was so good, I actually started to re-consider him for POTUS. My man Mitt was pretty flat.
All that being said Rush’s points on the pursuit of happiness and the specifics on why we should want Nobama to fail were important. It needed to be said.
Country Boy| 3.2.09 @ 7:04AM
Yeah, Rush was good, but Newt hit it out of the park.
With zero boy, we are really in a parallel universe, something out of the Twilight Zone.
Deborah| 3.2.09 @ 8:19AM
Just a bit of what Rush said, "We want every American to be the best he or she chooses to be. We recognize that we are all individuals. We love and revere our founding documents, the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. We believe that the preamble to the Constitution contains an inarguable truth that we are all endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights, among them life. [Applause] Liberty, Freedom. [Applause] And the pursuit of happiness. [Applause] Those of you watching at home may wonder why this is being applauded. We conservatives think all three are under assault." Amen and Amen.

He proven, once again, he's a great entertainer in the field of political punditry. But as we all know, he can be corrosive, cynical and injurious to dialogue in the body politic. And he loves to hatemonger like no other... save AlFranken.
Rush is like that obnoxious aunt from New Jersey or Long Island... so full of themselves you wonder how they can stand living with themselves, strong opinions on everything and anything, always corrective of others because it makes her feel superior, quite willing to scortch the Earth if it will denude her opponents and your willing to tolerate her because there's something evil in her eyes that makes you fearful of her uncomprimising and uneven wrath -warranted or unwarranted. And with both, you sigh relief when they're gone.
And one other thing: they both share the annoying, grating irritating whiney voice that trembles on the edge of insecure faux-confidence of "I know it all" and playing the guilt card of "Why don't you agree with me on everything". Rush is Dr Laura without the tits... well, maybe he's got 'em too.
I just hope the MSM and Obama aren't successful in portraying RushBlow as the new voice of the GOP... he can be the voice of conservatives (good riddance) if Sarah Palin will move over --but all that "loyal opposition" nonsense from him is pure theatre and it's hurting the GOP brand. It's like he learned nothing from Tom Delay et al.
Rush is kind of like a used snake oil salesmen who can always sell... because there's more than a few suckers in any crowd. And it's made him, like Barnum-Bailey, a very very rich man.

M-Matt, maybe YOU could say something that would be inspirational from where you're coming from...
HOPE...for what?
CHANGE...to what? Or back to what?
And how 'bout a specific example of Rush hatemongering?
Now bear in mind it needs to be visceral hatred of an individual or group, not just criticism of what they stand for. Otherwise, YOU QUALIFY AS A HATEMONGER TOO.

They key part of what Rush said, among many great things: we do not "hire" a president to change all the great attributes and foundations of our country that the founders put in place vis a vis the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, and that have made us the greatest nation on earth. For BO to try to do that makes him a haughty narcissist in the mold of Hitler, Stalin, et al.
Louis Jenkins| 3.2.09 @ 10:44AM
Watching Mr. Limbaugh was not much different from listening to his radio broadcast. He did say on his radio show last week he would not have a prepared speech, and was more comfortable speaking from the hip, although he appeared to look down from time to time at some papers or a text. The crowd was with him and he recognized a good opportunity to whip them up. It would have been better had he worn a tie, but he can afford to dress as he desires as the Democrat leaders have named him “The Head of the Republican Party.” He didn’t even go to college but he’s the most feared, hated, and talked about man on the right side of the aisle. Really folks, he is not the default leader of the GOP, but he is the current speaker of the conservative movement. His address on the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence was perhaps the most inspiring. Although there may be many diverse thoughts and ideas about our country and government we should revere and respect those founding documents. (It is not wise or reasonable, nor sound to interpret in such a manner as to add or take away from them.) That is the commonality that every dyed in the wool US patriot/citizen, including Mr. Limbaugh, has or should have for those sanctified documents. Those documents give us the responsibility to be our best and not to be a burden to others. For that, I agree with him.

You can hate Rush, but you cannot silence him. That is what infuriates those such as "the haughty one", the philanderer- in-chief", "dinghy Harry", and "the messiah". Do not expect Rush to be politically correct CNN. The majority of Americans detest PC as much as we love Rush. He is, and has been for sixteen years, the patron saint of conservatism. His ideals are unwavering unlike the majority of Republicans.
The question I have Rush is this:
Given the radical and dangerous shift in America and the unprecedented assault to our constitution combined with the utter capitulation of the GOP, why don't you REALLY lead the movement you head (conservatism) and start a grassroots campaign to create a viable third party that can really make fledgling protests like the tea parties have an impact? You can still keep your day job, just acknowledge the fact the we are not just "in the wilderness", we are in fact ruderless and will NEVER be successful under the corrupt and restrictive two party system. Rush, throughout our early American history the real shake-ups have occured under pressure from organized outside agitation bringing the angry, popular sentiment to bear in realpolitik.

Ruh roh. Looks like we have a couple of differing points of view. The "base" and the RNC Chairman.
"Last night, RNC Chairman Michael Steele appeared on D.L. Hughley’s show on CNN and disputed Hughley’s statement that Rush Limbaugh “is the de facto leader of the Republican Party.” “I’m the de facto leader of the Republican Party!” Steele insisted. Steele admitted that Limbaugh’s shtick is “incendiary” and “ugly”:
STEELE: So let’s put it into context here. Let’s put it into context here. Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer. Rush Limbaugh, his whole thing is entertainment. Yes, it’s incendiary. Yes, it’s ugly.

Mr. Steele, it went thattaway. And I think Rush was leading it.

There is a perfect storm of shifting politics, economical distress, and fear that leaves the American system ripe for negative transformation....and it is happening rapidly.
The sytem is also ripe for the rapid rise of a third party (unlike previous attempts when they were just novelties). The left has always been better at obnoxiously pushing these types of movements and grassroots campaigns on to the American scene. Are we going to let them beat us to the punch or are we going to take the unprecedented opportunity afforded us and bum-RUSH the system with our well crafted, unwavering, truly American ideals?
Time is running out!

Actually, conservatives may look back at this current time period and refer to it as the time
"Liberalism and the welfare state finally Died"
Every movement has got to have their bon voyage......their last big.....party........
It is exactly what Obama is doing now with breaking every pledge and spending money like three drunken sailors on their last sailing ship down memory lane........
He's good, he's smooth.....but he really ain't the Lord God.......so he can't walk on water.
He will only be able to use that 'First African American President Line" for just a while longer....
What these characters forgot is that America is still a center right nation and most folks remember what people promise, especially if these promises are broken within months of making the actual pledges. People are usually color blind when it comes to liars and cheats.
What will unfold during the next few months will be horrific for the country but really fatal for the long term prospects of the welfare state.
It's kind of the " Dapper Don" Syndrome.

Rush is the only speaker who can compete with Barak The Wonderful. Even Barak has been losing his edge lately. No wonder the pathetic Dems want to use the power of the state to silence him. I also saw Gingrich's speech, which was excellent. This defeat of the RINO Republican Party will have a salutary effect on the party and, after a terrible time, on our country. Our goal, enunciated so wonderfully by Rush, should be to finally end the progress of statism which has been slowly growing like a cancer in our nation since 1933. The fact is clear; there are too many people expecting entitlements for an economy enfeebled by socialism to satisfy even a small fraction of their hopes. The truth needs to be spoken loudly and one Rush serves to counter a blizzard of rationalizations and lies by the left--who are wrong now and have always been wrong. Michigan Matt is living in the collapsing ruins created by their wrongness. So am I, as a resident of California. The Dems and the Public Employee Unions are driving this formerly prosperous state into bankruptcy. There is a limit to the idiocy of even voters in blue states and the profound failure of Obama and the liberals in the Democratic Party will result in a disastrous defeat for them in 2010.

The difference is astonishing. I know that Jindal has to govern and Rush just has to entertain (in the end), but the disparity between the two men could not be overlooked.
Rush's politics drive me up a wall. But I like him, and believe ultimately he's a humane and honest person. I believe him when he says he wants a society in which all can succeed if they work for it, although I disagree that his politics would achieve that.

The last time the GOP solicited by mail for a donation I sent back the return postage envelope with a message, "When the Republican Party represents a true conservative agenda, to be read "Grow some BALLS", I will contribute." What the market likes is gullible dupes. And finally after 30 years folks are seeing the market for what it is. A ponzi scheme.
Count me as glad to see that people have seen the light. It's a shame for those who gambled and lost. But the old saying a fool and his money are soon parted fits perfectly.

I support the fact that generating socio-economic growth and development would be efficient to both the country as well as its citizens. As reported by Med Yones, a global economy specialist “The degree and speed of change has posed enormous challenges for nations, organizations and people. We are all feeling the influence of these changes, whether it’s the global competition, social re-engineering, political and military conflicts, outsourcing or power shifts”. It’s up to our government to improve this situation in US. Additional information on the topic is to found

Another disgusting, politically correct screed - so the immigrant, presumably black, Nigerian is a Rush supporter. Subliminal message: Conservatives have their minority supporters and everyone loves Rush. Spare us, Rush is an entertainer, like a baseball player or a movie star, that's how he makes his money, entertaining, and that's nothing to be ashamed of. President Obama, if you caught his speech, is also an entertainer and will become a multi-millionaire playing Mr. President, just as Bill Clinton became wealthy in the same role.
But, wise-up Conservatives, this PC twaddle means nothing in the long run. Across town from CPAC, it's the Democrats who occupy the seats of power and they have plenty of adoring cab drivers of their own - and based on the constant standing ovations, more than a few of those are in Congress. Face it, when it comes to gathering cab drivers, minorities, govt. employees and blue collar workers, the Democrats have you heavily outnumbered and intend to press their advantage to the max.
If there is some psychological comfort in reading this hero worship nonsense, you deserve what you're going to get. The Dems plan to shake you down, tax your wealth and give it to their supporters. Conservatives need to be looking at off-shore investments, let the Dems "Buy American". Conservatives need to be hoarding their wealth, looking at commodities as investments, looking at places overseas, currently legal, as a haven to park their funds. If Rush or Ann were to teach Conservative survival tactics and how to hide your freedom and your wealth from the statist Democrats, the adoration would be fully justified.
The best defense is a good offense, but this backslapping and cheering while you're being prepared for the cannibal's feast is just plain silly, and in the end self-defeating.

"And how 'bout a specific example of Rush hatemongering?"
Geee, if we only get to pick one then how about the illegal immigration era attempt to portray all illegals as murderers, thieves, unlicensed drivers, ungrateful servants or --the one not mentioned by Rush-- couriers and drug merchants for illegal prescription drugs like Oxycontin for rich white fat men?
Rush was patently baiting racists and conservatives with those characterization of illegals as wanton criminals --as opposed to hard working employees (18+ hr days) in manual labor at rock-bottom wages and no benefits. And I know, before the usual far Right Wing claptrap here starts spouting that the illegals were criminals because they broke the law to get into the country... I ask, pick up the first stone and cast it if you dare. We all break equally insignificant laws nearly every day... speeding to work, parking illegally, cheating on our taxes, etc.
And if we want to talk about the most hypocritical example of Rush speaking out of both sides of his mouth? How about the constant kluck-kluck of Rush's mantra about irresponsible lower class people doing drugs? And then, we learn through the honest reporting of the MSM, that Rush was a drug abusing addict who, in part, used illegal workers to mule his supply.
Now, that's the pot calling the kettle black.
Someone said he's Dr Laura with tits? Nope, he's a lot worse --he knows he's pandering to a dangerous crowd and he baits them just the same.
I wonder how many attacks on muslim-looking people or gays can be attributed to Rush's hateful broadcasts? Probably hundreds.
Ugh, the man is a pox on a thinking society.

Perhaps in your infinite wisdom, you can explain what was racist about Limbo's remarks on ESPN.
He said he thought McNabb was overrated; that the Eagles (all-black) defense should get most of the credit for the team's success. And, that 1 of the reasons for McNabb's "overratedness" was the white media's desire to see black QBs succeed, which desire he did not criticize, just observe. Where exactly is the racism?

"I don’t understand why you’re asking Republicans to donate to the Republican National Committee if their money is going to be spent furthering the agenda of Barack Obama? If we don’t want Obama and Reid and Pelosi to fail, then why does the RNC exist, Mr. Steele? Why are you even raising money?…"
"I’m not in charge of the Republican Party, and I don’t want to be. I would be embarrassed to say that I’m in charge of the Republican Party in a sad-sack state that it’s in. If I were chairman of the Republican Party, given the state that it’s in, I would quit. I might get out the hari-kari knife because I would have presided over a failure that is embarrassing to the Republicans and conservatives who have supported it and invested in it all these years…"
"When you send those fundraising requests out, Mr. Steele, make sure you say, we — we — we want Obama to succeed. So people understand your compassion. Republicans, conservatives are sick and tired of being talked down to, sick and tired of being lectured to. And until you show some understanding and respect for who they are, you’re going to have a tough time rebuilding your party."
THAT, is going to be good for fundraising.
And it really tickles me hearing the long time mouthpiece and enabler of the failed republicans blame it on the guy who has been Chairman for a month.
Kinda like blaming Obama for our economic catastrophe.

Yup a clarion call to conservatives alright...
Here’s Our Top 10 Racist Rush Limbaugh Quotes
1. "I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark."
2. "You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed."
3. "Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?"
4. "Right. So you go into Darfur and you go into South Africa, you get rid of the white government there. You put sanctions on them. You stand behind Nelson Mandela — who was bankrolled by communists for a time, had the support of certain communist leaders. You go to Ethiopia. You do the same thing."
5. "Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it."
6. "The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies."
7. "They’re 12 percent of the population. Who the hell cares?"
8. "Take that bone out of your nose and call me back(to an African American female caller)."
9. "I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They’re interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there’s a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn’t deserve."
10. Limbaugh attacks on Obama. Limbaugh has called Obama a ‘halfrican American’ has said that Obama was not black but Arab because Kenya is an Arab region, even though Arabs are less than one percent of Kenya. Since mainstream America has become more accepting of African-Americans, Limbaugh has decided to play against its new racial fears, Arabs and Muslims. Despite the fact Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law school, Limbaugh has called him an ‘affirmative action candidate.’ Limbaugh even has repeatedly played a song on his radio show ‘Barack the Magic Negro’ using an antiquated Jim Crow era term for black a man who many Americans are supporting for president. Way to go Rush.
You be da man Rush! Just what this country needs.
Getting out the popcorn this is going to be fun!

The dittoheads are victims of their own bad karma. The Republican Party and Rush Limbaugh have been trying to divide America for many years now, sowing the seeds of discord and disunity. "Divide and conquer" has been their strategy, their M.O. until now -- but lo and behold, two-thirds of the nation seem to have come together under the umbrella of unity - unity of purpose, unity of intent and unity around the idea that progressive values are worth fighting for.
The GOP and Rush are victims of their own bad blood and the negativity they've been spewing for years. In truth, of course, they are not victims - they are only victims to their own ignorance and prejudice.
" I hope he fails" will be the karmic epitaph on the GOP tombstone as this party dissolves before our very eyes. The sooner the better.

Everyon here has it wrong. The Liberals want the country to go Socialist, that is true, but it is for our own good. They believe so very strongly in the fabric of the American People that they believe we can do anything, even if no one else could. So, the fact that Socialism has been an abject failure everywhere else is seen merely as a challenge.. when the American people see the bottom that BO wants to show them (and yes it will stink just like BO) the liberals believe that the people will rise up together... united ..and show the world how Socialism can really be done. Meanwhile BO and his liberal pals will be driving fine cars, eating nice steaks and wearing $30,000 diamond rings (gift to MRS BO). That is the real redistribution of wealth, to the liberal coffers to use as they see fit.

No not everyon (sic) has it wrong. You have it wrong. The Liberals do not want the country to go Socialist, (Limpo has you all so abrainwashed over that term it's sickening.) the Liberals being liberal, want everyone, Democrat and Republican to have a better America. The real problem is that Repugs only want the country for themselves and screw everyone else. We just had 8 years of Bush/Chaney as a prime example. If the Repugs and Limpo cared about the true concept of 'e pluibus unum', they wouldn't be spewing this bigoted vitrol and wishing for our President's demise. Rush was fabulous. He is just one of the many reasons why I left the liberal left wing party. The party of "tolerance and compassion," as long as you agree with them. They can never debate, they just belittle. If you don't agree with them, they call you a racist and a bigot, the big buzz words to shut you up, as we have just seen above. They can only repeat endless talking points over and over like stepford wives. I, frankly, am sick of the BS from these people.
and if you want to talk drugs, we could talk all night about Obama's drug use. He's all but bragged about it, like it is cool. He may still be doing it, for all we know about the guy. That must be why he always has to use that darn teleprompter (it kills brain cells) and has that big goofy smile. Maybe that is why he thinks there are 57 states, or why he doesn't know half the time where he is, or why he tried to get in a window at the White House, instead of the door, or why he hit his head on Air Force One?
I would love to see Obama and Rush in a debate. Of course, Obama would have the questions before hand, and have his teleprompter, just in case. Rush would wipe the floor with Obama and then Obama would cry,"racist."
Obama doesn't have a clue as to who he is. but, he will be anything you want him to be: the Messiah, God, Jesus, your savior. You pick and he will oblige. The great pretender.

I also believe that, in line with Mr. Onakoya's personal story, much of our future success will be found with the children of recent immigrants, people who are fleeing tyranny to find happiness in America, with men like Bobby Jindal as the perfect example.

I have an answer for all those ditto-heads who are upset with the GOP and Michael Steele's non-apologetic apology... go vote for the Libertarian or fascist or Neo-Native or KnowNothing party in your area.
Rush isn't the voice of the GOP and, by his own admission, he doesn't want to be. Afterall, it was conservative movement's GOPers in Congress like Tom Delay and Duke Cunningham and Bill Frist and Trent Lott who ran the Party's brand into the ground. These were men who thought of themselves as conservatives first, Republicans second... the label "patriot" was somewhere in a distant 4th or 5th place for them given their conduct.
The RushBlow vs. Steele send-up is nothing more than a fabrication of the MSM intent on making news by selling "controversy". RushBlow is a biggggg boi with a thin skin these days but he's a great entertainer and political pundit.
Some people like his take on America and enjoy listening to RushBlow cream the opposition --whoever that boogeyman is for that day. He's made millions off selling fear, anger and bigotry to his version of the common man and they -his fan base- love it. Dr Laura did it on the culture wars in the 90's. Father Charles E. Coughlin did it in the 30's. It's nothing new.
More power to RushBlow. Is he the leader of the GOP? Hell no. Is he a leader of anything short of some radio talk show markets? Not really. But his fans won't let anyone say that without trying to shout the opposition down. "He's our god"; "He's the Obama antidote"; "He's truth to power".
He's first and foremost an entertainer and he can feed the rabid crowds red meat all day... at the end of the day, he's still just an entertainer who does political punditry.
No different than Keith Olbermann or Bill OReilly or any other sort of self-important talk show entertainer/character.
It isn't journalism. It's entertaining commentary on politics and some of his fans view him as their own Messiah and Voice.
But no one, except the farLeft and MSM, think he's the voice of the GOP. And that's a GOOD thing.

Nick (and his bevy of fake-posters) queries a likely mirror-poster: "Why does Cliff Clavin, a.k.a. Mich-Matt, think Duke Cunningham was a member of the GOP leadership?"
Well, bigot boi, if you knew something about another corrupted social conservative and marginal GOPer who played tandem with Tom Delay, you'd know something about Duke Cunningham. Let's go to school, bigot boi.
Item 1: he was personally recruited by soc-cons to run in a GOP primary against incumbent moderate GOPer Rick Lowery; Cunningham won.
Item 2: the soc-cons inside the Caucus rewarded him with sweet seats on Approps and Intel --in fact he ended chairing a SubCom in Intel, no small feat, that, unless you're golden with leadership.
Item 3: he had a near perfect rating from the American Conservative Union --a soc con group that tracks congressional votes and is widely judged to be the real voice of conservatives (not like RushBlow)
Item 4: he was selected by Delay's buddies to sponsor the soc-con's wet dream of a Flag Desecration Amendment (good God, ugh) and he buddied up with JohnBlackJackMurtha to do it.
Item 5: there's all the double-faced issues a) involving his tough on crime stance... but pleading for light sentencing for his druggie son; b) being against the moral decay in society... but taking prostitutes and free trips from defense contractors; c) home mortgages paid by US Coast Guard contractors; special favors for steering defense contracts to friends... who then gave him bribes, favors, gifts and more hookers.
Item 7: Cunningham served as Vice Chair of the Republican Campaign Committee, interim Chair and Vice Chair of the House GOP Policy Caucus and on and on and on.
Geeeeesh, Nick the troll, what part of GOP leadership don't you get? Worse yet, he was one of your team's (the radical soc-cons inside the GOP Caucus) poster boys.
Yeah, I thought that would shut you up for a bit. But just a bit.
Nick| 3.4.09 @ 12:08AM
OK Cliff, you got me. Duke was technically a member of the leadership. I was wrong about that. Thanks for the info.
But having a high ACU rating doesn't make you a leader. He wasn't the face of the GOP. That would have been Newt, Armey, and Delay. Nor was he the face of social conservatism, if there even is one. Nobody had heard of Duke until he was indicted. Unless you knew he was a war hero. He was low on the totem pole, and fairly anonymous, unless you're a congressional hack.
You seem to have forgotten one item, when did Duke piss in your Wheaties? Is that why you constantly mention him? He slapped you around on the Hill, maybe? How petty of you. You also forgot to mention BILL Lowery was also a crook. RICH Lowry edits National Review, dope.
I also see Thaddeus McCotter is now Chairman of the Republican Policy Committee. Don't go postal now, Clavin.
Michigan-Matt| 3.4.09 @ 7:18AM
Nick --and the literal legion of fake names you post under here and elsewhere-- I didn't say that Cunningham was a part of the GOP leadership because he had high ACU ratings. I was using that fact to demonstrate Cunningham was, indeed, a conservative... a social conservative and part of your darkened niche of the Party.
Because, usually with knuckle-draggers trying to deflect criticism about the corruption of our Party by their fellow soc-cons, you guys pop the silly notion that Cunningham wasn't a soc-con... he was... ready for this?... a moderate RINO.
Yeah, it gets pretty silly out there in "we gotta defend the idiots" land. Blame avoidance by you guys is at an all time high right now.
But like a clock, you're right at least twice a day and you are correct on Cunningham knocking off Bill Lowery, not "Rick Lowery".
Nothing petty on my part about reminding you knuckle-dragging, corrupt as BarneyFrank soc-cons that your poster boys in Tom Delay and Duke Cunningham DETROYED the GOP brand --despite the GOP having some great governors, great Senators and great mayors out there.
And that's point you really want to ignore, isn't Nick of a 1000 posters.
The responsibility of soc-cons ruining the Party and now, wanting to scapegoat that blame onto moderate GOPers, GOPers in general and anyone else other than the corrupt soc-cons who did the dirty deed.
Nice try at deflection. You lost... again. How about Tom Delay not being a soc-con leader of the GOP Caucus in Congress, Nick of a 1000 posters? You sidestepped that pile of dung in your flips, twists and diversions.
At least you didn't use 1/2 dozen fake-named posts to prop up your failing, feeble and impotent argument this time. I guess that's a little progress we can be happy about for now.
Nick| 3.4.09 @ 9:47AM
Mich-Matt,
No, like Rush, I'm certified right 98.99% of the time!
Deal with what I actually write and try not to infer in the future, OK? I don't try to disown Duke or argue he was a moderate. He was a social conservative, he just wasn't a leader or well known to the average soc con. And he was a crook and deserves to be in prison. If I had my way, 3/4 of congress would be locked up. I abhor corruption.
Tom Delay wasn't perfect either. But I'm not scapegoating anyone. The GOP acted like the democrat party and paid the price, period.
This your humble servant Nick, who can admit his mistakes, one man crying out in the wilderness. The only help I get is from above.
Michigan-Matt| 3.4.09 @ 12:31PM
Nick: "I don't try to disown Duke or argue he was a moderate. He was a social conservative, he just wasn't a leader or well known to the average soc con. "
I never said you did, Nick of the 1000 posters. I said some of your ilk try that dodge and it doesn't cut it.
I agree with you: let's stay on what you actually write and not infer in the future... like you did above with my comments whilst complaining about it being done to you.
And like a stopped clock, you're wrong MOST of the day. The GOP didn't act like the Democrat Party... the soc-cons took the Congress down a path of ever-more ridiculous social conservative activism while being double-faced and corrupt. They hurt the GOP brand and now they want a bigger seat at the table, they want to purge the Party of anything that isn't pure enough to pass their special sniff tests and they continue to fail to take responsibility for damage... blaming the Party when they should be leveling the criticism and blame on the soc-cons inside and outside the Party.
Michele Malkin does it routinely. Delay was still doing it as late as yesterday afternoon on ChrisMatthews show. CPAC was a virtual finger-pointing convention --aiming their crooked little digits everywhere but inside the conventional hall and RushBlow was their own personal cheerleader egging on the runaway train that left Reality Station.
I'm glad you hate corruption. I do too. And I like apple pie, baseball and Chevys but that don't cut it. The future of the Party lies outside the soc-cons who took it for a ride in Congress. We need to be less about social issue litmus tests and more about building coalitions that can win on Election Day.
Conservatives can go do their litmus tests on each other; just don't get in the way of progress.

Liberty or Death| 3.4.09 @ 1:26PM
My party is the Republican party Michigan-Matt. I am certainly not trying to defend everything they've done. In fact, as of late, they have been down right disappointing: Bush trying to outspend Democrats at every turn of his presidency, McCain nomination, Stevens corruption, Arlen Specter/Snow etc. voting for the largest pork bill ever, and the list goes on...
Like most on this website, I am a conservative first. However, that being said, the conservative movement is still alive in the Republican party. Yeah, I know they've fallen way short of our expectations. I also know the Republican party absent conservatisim is simply Democrat Lite. And if you've ever tasted Miller Lite, you know what I am talking about when I say I'd rather drink something else. Republican Lite will never win elections.
As Nick pointed out, there is a lot of corruption on both sides of the aisle.
Whether you like it or not the two parties will always be about social issues. You can thank our court system for forcing social issues like abortion and gay marriage on the American people. And don't act all self-righteous. The Democrats are pushing social politics as much, if not more, than Republicans ever have.
Where have you been living all these years? Those idiots you elected have destroyed the family with social "welfare," sanctioned the murder of millions of babies, and pushed every type of liberal "social" agenda we have. It's simply ignorant to say, "soc-cons took the Congress down a path of ever-more ridiculous social conservative activism," without ever recognizing the social disintegration of our society perpetrated by Democrats.
Here it is, I'll lay it out for you: Republicans/conservatives (baring several bad apples) have always stood for morals, what is right and just. Religion aside, they are also for our most hallowed document, the Constitution of the United States of America. We are not forcing conversion on you. Get over yourself! A society cannot exist without morals. Democrats have always stood against morals of anykind; they are constantly trying to rewrite our nation's history and constitution.
There are many perplexing questions I have for anyone who claims they are "religious" and votes Democrat. Abortion, alone, is such a stain on this nation, I cannot imagine ever voting for a Democrat. Heck, even if I agreed with them 95% of the time (which I never would), I could not in good conscious cast my vote for the wholesale murder of millions of Americans.
So you see Michigan Matt, the line in the sand was drawn by you moronic liberals long ago on social issues. Don't blame conservatives for fighting back.

L/D says: "Like most on this website, I am a conservative first."
Guess what, L/D? I'm a GOPer first and I do know that the soc-cons took the Party for a long ride out in the trailer park, took a few potshots from the speeding car at the neighborhood cat, squirrel and lots of others, crashed the car, got caught by the police and now, like the good soc-cons at CPAC, are complaining that they aren't responsible for the wreck, the dead cats, the totaled car or the ticket.
Give it a rest.
The liberal agenda got pushed aside by Reagan's leadership and 12 yrs of strong GOP control of the WH. Clinton, as much as I dislike the man, was a center-Right Democrat. The soc-cons inside the GOP controlled the Congressional agenda from Newt's Contract to Delay's imperial rule.
I'm tired of hearing soc-cons say "I'm a social conservative first and if the GOP stays to the farRight on my issues, I might vote for their candidate.
Sorry, L/D. The GOP I want to grow some balls doesn't need the soc-cons. We need independent voters. We need moderates. We need female voters. We need voters who will be loyal -and disloyal- on Election Day.
