The White House is attempting to jettison Robert Wolf, chief executive of UBS America, from its announced economic advisory board, after Wolf's bank agreed to pay $780 million in fines and to disclose hundreds of U.S. clients who attempted to dodge U.S. taxes. The case does not close out a civil suit against the bank that seeks the names of thousands of other U.S. citizens who may be hiding as much as $15 billion in secret Swiss bank accounts.
Wolf's employees were part of the criminal case, and senior staff in the Obama White House have been looking to dump Wolf since Obama personally included him on the board.
"He was one of the President's top fundraisers on Wall Street, which means a lot given that Hillary had a lot more money lined up there," says one former Obama fundraiser. "Wolf was there from the beginning, when others were not. It's going to be tough to push him out the door."
But White House aides have been pushing nonetheless, arguing that at a time when Obama is asking most Americans to sacrifice, it looks bad to have a guy whose firm facilitated tax dodging advising him on economic policy.
But Obama has refused to remove Wolf or even ask for his resignation.
The Democrats say Obamacare opponents are a mob. Are they right?

Prior to Obama, I rarely heard the expression, "throw (insert name) under the bus." Now, I see its application everywhere Obama. From his dying white grandmother to the adulturous Rev. Wright.
So Wolf heads the tax-dodging crowd at USB, facilitating tax scofflaws, and is a good money-raiser to boot? What does one thing have to do with the other? That's rhetorically asked because it's an ethical question that no one is either asking or answering.
Obama may very well throw this guy under the bus, something he does because he doesn't have an ethical core and makes poor choices in people from the onset. Into month two of his presidency, he continues to surround himself with bad boys.
My question is which senior staff is looking for Wolf's ouster? Is it the tax-dodging treasury secretary? Or Chief of Staff Rahm E. who lives for free in someone's basement and thinks that the value does not amount to taxable income?
When does the claim that something looks bad stop the Obama-ites from going forward because they can?
Obama can't pick people, and he gives a lousy toast, to boot. He really needed his teleprompter at the White House dinner last night.

Gets stranger and stranger (curiousier, too) when you add up the multiple mis-steps, and now we find out that the Clown-in-Charge (AKA the present inhabitant of the White House) appointed his 18-member TaskForce (AKA an important committee) to oversee the Big-Three transformation or whatever it's called...
But, of those 18, most drive Lexus, Volvos or other imports; ONLY ONE OWNS A US BUILT CAR - - - and they're supposed to - - never mind...

President Obama has established a new office tasked with the oversight of his $787 billion stimulus bill distribution to the state governments. Let me estimate the new job creation by this Oversight Office:
1) the central oversight office in Washington will need at least 1500 new employees;
2) every state capital will have to establish a new office for compliance and reporting to that Washington central office; the size of each such new office will depend on the size of a particular state and the size of various porkbarrell projects. Let us estimate and average of 600 new employees per state plus District of Columbia, Porto Rico, Guam (there might be more of these but I forget). The total of these new employees would then be 53x600 = 31,800 new employees.
3) That would accomplish a total of 33,300 new employees, all unionized, with automatic annual cost-of-living adjustments, union-negotiated annual raises, pension rights, and health care benefits;
4) This new "workforce" will never be disbanded, as shown by a large number of such bureaucracies, but will continue to increase under various alternative names, as the particular economic situation may require;
5) the intial annual cost of this new bureaucracy will be, including travel, communications, office space with utilities, consumables, etc. 33,300x$120,000 = $400 million/year, for the first year. Annual growth of at least 20% should be assumed, to go into infinity. Union work rules will apply - regular annual inflation raises, plus seniority raises, health benefits, pension rights, no firing permitted, work deadlines outlawed. And let us not talk here about $9 billion destined for ACORN brownshirts and similar "community organizations".

That's funny. From all the rhetoric one hears. I thought all the corrupt and greedy Wall Streeters were Republicans. Bill Maher said recently that, to keep the people happy, we should hang two Wall Streeters every year at the stock exchange with their private parts removed and stuffed in their mouths, as an example. I agree. One of my nominees for '09 is Mr. Wolf. Good idea, Bill!

If you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas. Why should anyone be surprised that a man nurtured and suckled at the Chicago Machine tiddy would have imbibed corruption with that milk?

So Obama wants Wolf, and has from the beginning, but his advisors want Wolf out?
His advisors are right.
But the real story behind this issue is not simply another cabinet choice with skeletons in his/her closet.
The real story is Obama's naivete and bad decisions. He wants Wolf, he wants Daschle, he wants Geithner, he wants Holder, etc, etc, but he NEVER seems to do his homework on these picks, or surround himself with sage counsel who perform these tasks themselves OR have the intestiunal fortitude to tello him he's making a really dumb choice.
So it truly is amateur-hour down in D.C. these days. We have a back-bencher from the Illinois Senate, a community organizer in the Saul Alinksy mode, who has literally stumbled into the White House. And don't give me this nonsense about his brilliant campaign or his amazing oratory skills - neither are true. Obama is perhaps the luckiest politician America, the epitome of "right place, right time" convergence who never would have been considered as Presidential material if not for his skin color (there, I said it!)...
...And he's surrounded by equally amateurish sycophants.
How on earth did we lose to this guy??
