Steele's Challenge

Not true at all. Steele has largely gotten better press than he has deserved. Mainly people with more than a passing interest in politics know about his history of ineptitude in jobs, debts, unpaid taxes, collecting wages for running for office (as does Alan Keyes), do nothing political jobs, etc. The sort of people who become token minority Republicans are usually not of high quality and he's no exception. If the media were 'after' Steele, more stories of his problems would have appeared before he was elected chairman of the RNC. They are rather belated now.

Furthermore, the considerable dirt on Steele is being leaked by Republican operatives, mainly former associates, including the financial manager of his gubernatorial campaign, now convicted of bribery. The effort may be the brainchild of one of his rivals for the RNC leadership, segregationist Katon Dawson, who failed to buy the seat with payments to other state parties from S.C.'s coffers. No way is not Dawson one red-faced redneck after being bested by someone he thinks should shine his shoes. Time will tell.

"history of ineptitude in jobs, debts, unpaid taxes, collecting wages for running for office (as does Alan Keyes), do nothing political jobs, etc."

In other words, he would be a better fit as an Obama cabinet nominee.
