"We're talking about a campaign that could run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars," says the consultant, who says that Dawson has even retained a Washington, D.C.-based PR agency to place pro-Dawson items on conservative and political blogs.
"He wants to create the impression that he is the only candidate with a national presence, and that he already has it won," says the consultant.
Dawson has spent more than two months campaigning for the job, which, if he won, would allow him to help Palmetto State Gov. Mark Sanford, who is looking to mount a campaign for the GOP presidential nomination in 2012.
Dawson is hosting a post-election conference in South Carolina, where a number of RNC committee members will be in attendance, to discuss the future of the Republican Party.
Dawson will use the meeting to lobby the committeemen and women, in the hope of firming between 30 and 40 votes of the 168 total voting.
Other potential candidates include Florida party chair Jim Greer, Michigan co-party chair Saul Anuzis, and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.

NICE! President elect for 3 days and already setting up his "Skull and Crossbones" society. Getting caught and reported on within 3 days is pretty classic. I hope that the crawler keeps its eye on this cause it smacks of illegality.
So much for a Tranparent administration.
Come on my fellow Republicans, its time to get vigilant and hold these clowns feet to the fire, just like they do to our candidates, no slack should be given, lets get mobilized and turn this around....mid term elections are in two years and clearly we need to start working now to save our party and the country.

In Obama's world, there is no rule or law that cannot be broken; no principle or tradition that cannot be abandoned; no alliance or loyalty that cannot be tossed aside, all for the sake of political expediency and the pursuit of power. His messianic self-righteousness is truly mind-boggling.

Did anyone with a functioning brain have any doubt that a dictatorship would be entering our White House if Obama won? America has become a ship of fools and will reap the "rewards."
Unfortunately, so will the rest of us who knew exactly what was coming. Question is, will we fight or submit to this new/old un-American
Presidency? Can't help but wonder.

A secret, non-transparent transition organization and people are surprised? Look, the nation and the Democrat party have been hijacked by a group with totalitarian aspirations. Now Barack Obama may or may not turn out to be the leader of this cabal, but he is certainly the front man for the organization. The organization's goal is simple, to gain and maintain control of the United States. Not much different from some other political groups in initial aims, but the means of gaining that control will be starkly different.
Watch for several things to occur in the first two to three years of Obama's administration.
First, the control of financial and monetary markets.
Second, conversion [seizure] of private citizens investment capital to government managed accounts.
Third, seizure of "excess" profits from businesses and individuals through increased taxation.
Fourth, creation and expansion of a "Domestic Security Force" [possibly using threats of "racial violence" as its justification]. Coupled with the confiscation of privately held firearms.
Fifth, increased deployment of military units outside the CONUS; likely to "trouble spots" having no national security interests. This will be coupled with a drastic reduction in the size of the military.
Sixth, use of the Domestic Security Force against dissidents to quell "unrest".
We will also see dupes and dolts [puppets] raised to positions of power within the Congress. Through extralegal means [vote fraud, intimidation of the electorate, and intimidation of potential undesirable candidates], the Congress will be stacked with partisans of the new order.
Just a fantasy, you say? It couldn't happen here? Perhaps. But do we really want to find out? This scenario could lead to a second civil war in this country. And this discounts the many wolves lurking out in the rest of the world that wish us ill. This administration should not be taken lightly.
How to stop it? First, force the current government to make Barack Obama produce a certified COPY of a BIRTH CERTIFICATE showing exactly when and where he was born. The fact that this candidate has sealed every record that has any information on his citizenship status says a lot. A minor Constitutional Crisis now will save a lot of heartache later.
Should he present sufficient proof that he meets the Constitutional qualifications for the Office of President, then constant vigilance is in order. Legislative measures designed to diminish the power of the People should be blocked. Legislators, sympathetic to the administration should be voted out.
I know it sounds like the rantings of a paranoid conspiracy theory nut. But, is it? We'll see.

the real problem for Obama is he is totally clueless. How deep was this political prostitute emanuel involved in the scandal at Freddie Mac when he was on BOD? Clinton placed Jamie Gorelick and Franklin Raines at Fannie and they looted it for Dem contributions and personal wealth. We know the same thing was done at Freddie. What role did Emanuel play in that financial debacle?
Why does Obama keep choosing advisors with this kind of background? First there was Franklin Raines. Obama did not know this guy was the architect of one of the great thefts of all time. Then he hires Johnson, the CEO who came after Raines and also cooked the books. Is Obama an idiot? If these two thieves were republicans they would be in prison. Obama was clueless. Now he hires Rahm Emanuel, a guy who was on the BOD at Freddie as it was being looted by execs and Dem for contributions. I seem to remember a much stronger paper trail on donations to Dems with Freddie than Fannie. Would one of Clintons best fund raisers been involved in these crimes? Has Obama asked these questions? I dont think he knows. I think he is an imbecile.
Now that the media has won the election for Obama they will start their destruction of him. If it bleeds it leads. The entire Freddie and Fannie corporate and taxpayer thefts will break wide open in next two years. Even the most ardent Obama supporters cant keep the lid on this scandal for ever. It is the greatest of all US scandals. How Dems destroyed the financial system with a socialist housing scheme and looting the GSEs for political money.

Hi, jack.
I submit that this idiocy is due to a very banal cause: egos so large that they crowd out whatever brains would otherwise be occupying that space. Nobody in this sartorially smart nudist colony wants to point out the "one who has no clothes."
It happens to Republicans too, but less often. They are less likely to get away with it because they challenge one another's views far more openly.
The general public is largely oblivious to this. "Whatever," they say. "So long as we keep getting our bread and circuses."

Media destruction of Obama? How hearty was media destruction of Bill Clinton when he got caught? Lots of titillating snippets, but I never saw the whole damning megilla aired except in conservative publications on the web. Obama's got the race card that Bill Clinton never had. I don't expect to see anything worse in the MSM than "good grief, do you think this looks a bit like Jimmy Carter?"

On the plus side for Obama, now he can collect all that foreign money without having them limit contributions to $200 a shot. Obama promised change, and it's starting already. For Sale: The United States of America. Not sure how the FEC investigation is going with regards to the highly questionable campaign fundraising, but at least Obama won't have to worry about the FEC (or anyone else) looking into this.
Sour grapes? Nope. Just justified concern about foreign influence over American policies. If a Republican did this, I guarantee it would be all over the nightly news. Yet this won't get touched unless it bubbles up. At least until the Fairness Doctrine is reinstated and Democrats are able to impose controls over the Internet (as in China and recently Australia).

re: Obama Rules | 11.7.08 @ 10:29AM
" 'Thomas, you write,' I know it sounds like the rantings of a paranoid conspiracy theory nut.'
Yes, it does; and, yes, it is.' "
First of all, to Thomas, you do not need to, indeed you must not, qualify your very cogent and well-reasoned argument for why Obama and his administration is a serious threat to American government and life as we seek it to be. Your concerns are NOT the rantings of a paranoid conspiracy theory nut. They are based on logic. Surely you are not equating yourself with those who have compared President Bush to Hitler, etc...their rantings founded on nothing more than blind hatred?
Second, to "Obama Rules"; you respond, knee-jerkingly, to Thomas' unfortunate comment ("the rantings of a paranoid conspiracy theory nut"), not to his well-reasoned argument. I have yet to read or hear ANY Obama supporter provide convincing, logical arguments for why Obama's proposed policies are good for this country. What he proposes, if enacted, will affect, not just those who opposed/oppose him, but those who support him as well. Your enthusiasm for his hope and change mantra embolden him to forcefully carry out his ideas of what government should do for people or MAKE PEOPLE DO for what he considers the "common good." Do you want to be required (or your children required) to serve in a "civilian national security unit"? Will that require you notifying government authorities of your neighbor's actions or comments? (How do you know it will not? Did you discount the rumors in 2004, from the Kerry campaign, that Bush would reinstitute the draft?)
Do you want to see your retirement savings, or those of your parents, taken over by bureaucrats who will dole out the amounts they see fit?
Do you want the government mandating that you fit your house with "approved" light-bulbs, or that you drive cars you really don't feel comfortable in or like (they're not cool, but they're ecologically acceptable)?
These issues are questions asked by thinking people, whether or not they become law. These questions do not seem to be asked in this current political climate, by people who have pledged allegiance to President-elect Obama.
Why not?
Thomas| 11.7.08 @ 2:31PM
llbb,
Thank you for the nice mention. My analysis is based upon historical examples and is not based upon hatred, racism or anger. The "rantings of a paranoid conspiracy theory nut." was not an unfortunate comment, but a reasoned one. It is easy for people to discount even a reasoned scenario that seems fantastic, usually by labeling the presenter as a "nut". This happens all of the time. By saying that my analysis may sound like the ravings of a nut, I show that I recognize that the scenario may seem fantastic, but is reasoned and that I still stand by it.
As for Mr. Rules, that he spends so much time on this site continuing to attempt to discredit non-Obama supporters, indicates that he has some serious personal doubts about his candidate. Unfortunately for him, I am certain that they will only increase as time progresses.

Sorry, Gary Thomas, but Quin Hillyer has alerted us about why you're dead wrong in this post:
"As I read this,I find it easy to understand why Obama achieved such a solid win.Now remember when people spoke against Bush 5 or 6 years ago you folks (or at least many of you) called them traitors. You are by your own words and conduct, and by your own definition, traitors now. Ne c'est pas?"
No, as Mr. Hillyer has informed us, the new President-Elect of Us All Barack Obama has set forward Alinsky Rules for Us All, including the rule to "constrain your opponents to abide by their own rules." For Mr. Obama as leader of those who denounced Bush and defined the denunciations to be not traitorous but patriotism -- and be certain Mr. Obama has never criticized these denunciations of Bush as traitorous, because he piggybacked his campaign on them -- the rule Mr. Obama's set out that we all now abide by is that denouncing a president or president-elect is "patriotism." Whatever Mr. Obama has set out as acceptable for the Left is equally acceptable for the Right. Alinsky Rules for Us All now!

There is the "Story behind the Story, the News behind the News. Reality is usually scoffed at and illusion is usually king, but in the battle for the survival of Western civilization it will be reality and not illusion or delusion that will determine what the future will bring"
There is no paranoia or foolish conspiracy theroies regarding Obama here.
My parents used to tell me, as I now tell my kids, "Be careful about the people you hang around with because you will become like them". I once heard someone say "show me a person with losers for friends, and I will show you a loser.
Look at Obama's friends and mentors for the past 20+ years, and you see nothing but a bunch of radical America hating Marxists. His own parents and grandparents were radical leftists. Don't just believe my words, go do some research for yourselves, and then you will see.
All I can say now is, with all this call for unity and coming together, it is time to put this election behind us and come together behind our new president, and show him the same respect and reverence that the left has shown to president Bush for the last 8 years!
Tom Paine| 11.8.08 @ 11:28AM
Tom --
First of all, no one need show any "reverence" for President Obama. In this country, we don't show "reverence" for political leaders -- unless we are, like so many on the right, afflicted with an authoritarian personality disorder and in need of a strong man to make us feel safe.
Second, it would be nice if you offered some evidence to suggest a totalitarian conspiracy was afoot. The dark murmurings may conjure out on the fringes, but they say absolutely nothing to anyone sensible enough to be regard such scenarios with a healthy skepticism.
Better for those on the right to avoid such nonsense and think about how they can avoid a trouncing like this next time. I can tell you, it won't come by a) claiming the election was "stolen" (we had to learn that on the left); b) attempting to demonize Obama; or c) referring to 75 million of your fellow citizens as traitors, dupes, communists, or fools. It just doesn't work like that, comrade.
Best of luck, and keep the aspidistra flying!

Well Barack Obama won; I wish him well but have little faith that if enacted his stated policies will improve conditions in the country. The first thing that will happen is the so called “Bush Tax Cuts” will be allowed to expire: raising taxes in an economic down turn has never been a good idea and will only increase the downward spiral: couple that with his stated intent to increase the Capital Gains tax (not because it will increase revenues but because it will be “Fairer”) and corporate taxes and foreign/domestic investment will slow if not grind to a halt. Next the ban on drilling in ANWAR and off shore USA will be extended, or made permanent, further restricting fuel supplies, when new greener energy sources are admittedly 10 years away; another drag on the economy. Then a windfall profits tax will be enacted further restricting oil and gas exploration and further limiting oil and gas production. A Cap and Trade CO2 bill will be passed to “Bankrupt the Coal Companies” and the subsidy on corn based ethanol will be doubled requiring us to burn more of the food supply. The price of fuel, electricity and food will skyrocket causing further constriction of the domestic economy; and since we are the market to the world, a world wide slowdown will accelerate. If he insists on renegotiating trade agreements with Canada etc. trade will flow to Europe and elsewhere further depressing the US economy. Canada has already begun negotiations with the EU because of his stated intent to do so. These are the types of things that occurred after the market crashed in 1929 that led to a world wide Depression that didn’t end until WW2 (not a good option) brought us out of it.
Having taken care of the most pressing domestic problems the Democrats in Congress will turn to other promises made during the campaign. A 100 billion stimulus package will be passed and the RPM’s of the money presses will be increased to pay for it. The effect of the stimulus will be no greater than the first package, negligible, but the poor and middle class will feel better as the wealth is spread around. Never mind that the increase in the money supply will further erode the value of the dollar, already down against most foreign currencies. Will he pursue the nearly 1 trillion in new programs and spending that he has proposed in light of a 4 to 7 hundred billion dollar predicted budget short fall and a Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid deficit that threaten to bankrupt the nation, or will it be put it off in hopes of improving economic conditions?
Not satisfied with the de facto nationalization of the financial industry a National Health Care Bill will be passed taking over another 25% of the economy. Unemployment insurance payments will be extended and the minimum wage will be tied to inflation and allowed to increase every year by a corresponding percentage. Small businesses will begin to close or lay off employees and the economy will go into free fall. Because of the lost revenue due to the severe economic downturn the Democratic majority in Congress will look around for new sources of revenue and their eyes will land on 401k accounts where billions of dollars of private money are “languishing”. In October Congressional hearings led by Rep. George Miller, D-CA proposed eliminating 80 billion dollars in tax brakes on existing 401k accounts by moving money from tax deferred to taxed accounts. This is all smoke and mirrors of course because the tax on these account is paid when the money is withdrawn and depending on how the legislation is written could result in taxes being paid twice on the same account. The Democrats are ever resourceful in their search for other people’s money. I have also heard rumblings of designs on the billions of dollars that University and College Trust Funds have “languishing” in their accounts.
While all this is going on the Democrats stated assault on the Constitution will begin. Although, “I have always believed that an individual has a right own a gun,’ further gun laws will be implemented. (“The 2nd Amendment guarantees the right to own a gun but it says nothing about ammunition.”) The so called “Fairness Doctrine” will be reinstituted and taxes and regulation will be placed on the internet to further stifle dissent. (1st Amendment) Dozens of lower court Judges and perhaps as many as three Supreme Court Judges will be appointed who will rule not on the law and judicial precedent but on how they feel about the issues, or empathy for those poor or minority people who come before the court. (“These are the type of Judges I will appoint.”) Is this not the epitome of Judicial Activism and Legislating form the bench?
At some point I would also expect an attempt to repeal the 22nd Amendment.
In the area of foreign policy I believe that Vice President Joe Biden is correct in his assumption that the new President will be tested and found wanting. Where and by whom I don’t know but I can think of several scenarios. Perhaps the Israelis will strike Iran’s nuclear facilities, a move they deem vital to their continued existence. How will a President Obama react to such a move? Would he continue to support Israel or abandon the only real allies we have in the area? Perhaps Russia will make further moves into countries of the old USSR as they have done in Georgia. How would a President Obama deal with that when he has previously only called for restraint on the part of Russia? Perhaps the Chinese would find this an opportune time to settle their claims on Taiwan. Would a President Obama go to the aid of a country that we have long said we would defend? What if Kim Jung Ill decided to reunite the Koreas? And what will he do in Iraq where he has said he would pull out immediately, or set a time table for pulling out, or pull out when the situation on the ground warrants or...
Will he and his Vice President continue to push Obama’s "Global Poverty Act" (S.2433) through the Congress? The legislation would commit the U.S. to spending 0.7 percent of gross national product per year on UN foreign aid, which amounts to a phenomenal 10 year total of $845 billion over and above what the U.S. already spends.
In August Barack Obama referred to himself as a citizen of the world. In light of that and the above proposed legislation it seems to me he is willing to subvert American Foreign Policy to the whims of an Anti American UN that already gets over 25% of its support from the USA.
What will a President Obama, in the middle of the war on terror, do regarding the military? Will he make the devastating cuts that he promised early in the campaign or increase the over all troop numbers by 40,000 as he said last week? Time will tell.

I know I'm late for this dicussion, but I have to tell you all something we really have to start talking and thinking about what really happened Tuesday night.... There is one thing about our country that seems to remain the same, "when we get mad, things change. Bush and his Rockefeller-like Republican "old-guard" double-crossed and betrayed us all. They became the corrupt, big spenders that the democrats had been for 50+ years before 1994. Neither the right-wing nor the left wing are any good for this country. In the old world the right-wing created Hitler, the left-wing created Lenin and Stalin.... all of whom are responsible to the deaths of millions arond the world as well as in their own back yards. Let's come together and debate the issues and agree to disaggree as it goes, then find a way to do what's best for the country. It seem clear that Obama is now making the "paybacks" he needs to make to those that got him the election. They appear to want to push us to the far "left". Let's stand and fight them when they do while finding a way to support what they may do to the "center" because it is that which will unite the country rather than further devide it.
In my opinion McCain and the old guard republicans sold us out.. Instead of standing firm against a pork-barrel bailout and expose the democrats for what they are, they went along with it, McCain included. McCain could have committed to going after the creeps who facilitated this "crash", but he didn't. Another "sell-out"! The party needs to rediscover its Reagan "roots" and together with centrist democrats who along with us believe in what good for all America move forward and keep these believers in the "socialist-paradise" in check. The the rest of the "Socialist-World", we are the great prize. If we fall prey to this agenda we will be ruled by the few. Our ingenuity and industry will be used to support them while our superior military will be used to control all with an iron fist. To remain free we will need to make sacrfices like "spending more time being reliably informed and ready to act with all the weapons our Constitution has given us. " We are a "bleeding, sleeping giant". If we don't wake up from our "American Idol, Survivor, and NFL/NBA stupor", we will bleed to death. Those of us left will wake up and not recognize who we are anymore.

Thomas' theory rings true because we've already seen evidence of 4 of his 6 tenets.
1) The government is already well on its way to siezing control of the financial sector.
2) The left has already begun discussions about converting our 401Ks to government managed accounts.
3) Obama ran on a platform of confiscatory taxation on corporations and (scratching my head here) won.
4) Obama has already outlined plans for a Domestic Security Force.
How far will we go down this road before people realize this isn't just some wacky conspiracy theory?

"Neither the right-wing nor the left wing are any good for this country. In the old world the right-wing created Hitler, the left-wing created Lenin and Stalin.... all of whom are responsible to the deaths of millions around the world as well as in their own back yards."
This is not true.
The Left is responsible both for Hitler and Stalin. Both were Socialists. Stalin sought international socialism, Hitler, national socialism. (Nationalsozialistische = NAZI = National Socialists)
The extreme Left of the political spectrum is totalitarianism...total government control. The extreme Right is Anarchy...no government at all.
The Right is dedicated to small government and individual liberty. Taken to extremes it results in no government at all and maximum individual freedom.
It is the political philosophy of the Left, which holds that government is the solution to all ills...that invariably leads to a State that becomes intrusive, controlling, authoritarian, and finally, totalitarian. It is in the DNA you might say of the philosophy itself—and it is entirely missing from the "small government", "individual liberty" DNA of the Right.
Hitler and his Nazis are no kin to the Right.
They are the cousins of the big government Left.

Playing a game of symantics are we? If Hitler and Stalin were so similar , they would have formed a coalition along w/Japan and crushed Europe, indo-china and then turned their eyes toward poor little "isolated" us. My point about the far right is that human nature won't allow him to do what's right with those around him...only caring about HIS rights. What should be important is ONES' individual responsibility for ones' self and your actions towards those around you. If individual liberties ruled, stepping on and hurting one another would be unavoidable.
Thomas| 11.9.08 @ 8:13PM
May I answer both Agent OP and Mr. Koledi?
In case you haven't noticed. GW Bush is not very conservative. He actually governed very much as a centrist, in most matters. As to the national debt, did you happen to notice that we are engage in a wide ranging military conflict? There is where most of your Debt increase came from.
Now, if Hitler and Stalin were so similar why didn't they form a coalition? Well the answer is two-fold. First, they did form a coalition of sorts, a non-aggression pact. But, it was doomed to failure, because Totalitarians do not share power. It is true that neither Totalitarianism nor Anarchy is good for the Human species. Therefor, most people on the Right, as you put it, believe that a society should be based upon the notion of the least amount of government that will allow the greatest personal freedom while securing the the benefits of that freedom to the citizens. They also believe that people are capable of providing for their own welfare if not overly encumbered by government and its attendant regulations. For all governments eventually seek to control the populous they supposedly serve. And totalitarian regimes, that arise in a democrat society, usually follow the same game plan [outlined above].

Bush had a 501(c)(4) in '00, too. Just like Obama's.

Thomas, you tried to answer my $5 Trillion to $10 Trillion question at 5:16 PM by responding:
"As to the national debt, did you happen to notice that we are engage in a wide ranging military conflict? There is where most of your Debt increase came from."
I dispute your conclusion that, "There is where most of your Debt increase came from", but since you don't give evidence for your conclusion neither will I give evidence for my conclusion. Mind you even if your conclusion where true, which I don't believe it is, it could still be quite easily argued that Bush mismanaged badly the financial costs of his "wide ranging military conflict" and the sum could have been greatly reduced with better military results.

Thank you, Gun Slinger, et al, for your clarity of thought and your ability to express it so well--we are going to need it big time to deal with Obama's Bagdad Bobs.

We are in the middle of crisis, no doubt. All the fears about obama and the leftist Congress are valid. My question...instead of debating the obvious and wondering whats going to happen, where's the plan?
What is being done about it? I read many of the conservative blogs and news sites and the comment sections are filled with thoughtful and truthful dread about Obama and what he will do to this Nation. How can we come together and actually do something. My first suggestion is to see if someone can come up with an idea to rid ourselves of biased media. If they were telling the truth loudly and clearly many people other than the one who voted McCain might rally to our side.
The truth must come out in ways that the lazy and uninformed can be made to see the danger and share our concerns. I've been searching for such an answer no luck so far.

I recognized this person for being a detriment to out country early on. His appeal to the young set and perceived"freebies" to minorities will be very hard to attain, potentially great harm to this country and it's values.

The government of the U.S., in its bailout efforts, made fast payday loans to the two largest lending institutions in the American financial sector – Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The two companies lost billions of dollars in the collapse of the subprime lending bubble, and were on the fast track to bankruptcy. They had to be bailed out in order to keep the companies running and a large stimulus of capital was injected into them in order for them to recapitalize and get business rolling again. The House Oversight Committee in Washington reviewed the actions that were taken by the companies over the last few years on Tuesday, where they were criticized for their actions and termed irresponsible by Committee Chairman Henry Waxman. The firms' former executives testified that they thought they were doing the right thing, even after being counseled by senior risk managers that investing the company heavily in sub-prime mortgages severely compromised the firms' potential for cash flow. The idea was if they bought mortgages, or other people's debt, and bought debts owed by people who wouldn't have received a mortgage loan normally, that they would be receiving regular payments, even if they raised the mortgage payment rate. When the bubble burst and borrowers began defaulting, both companies started to sink. This demonstrates that proper security and planning is necessary in all areas of finance, be it at the level of large national lenders, or personal budgets. It's good to know that if a temporary expense puts a dent in your wallet, you can get a payday loan to help you through. Click to read more on Fast Payday Loans.
