Another Perspective

Norman Hsu's Hong Kong Blues

(With apologies to Hoagy Carmichael)

It's the story of a very unfortunate liberal man
Who got arrested and ran to old Hong Kong
He'll get twenty years' privilege taken away from him
If he's not kidnapped again by the Tongs.

He's been makin' up straw donors just to raise the price
Of a ticket to buy Hillary
Says his loyalty's in 'Frisco where they send the rice
But I think it's with the PRC.

That's why he says...
I need to run from Hillary
I need the Red Army to carry me home from San Francisco
Or they'll bury my body there
All the Democrats I gave to, they want me to disappear
And leave Hong Kong far behind them
Until the heat's off again.

Won't somebody believe
I've some yen, to give in that Bay again.
But if I don't leave
I may not even see another day...
Judge, I can't give up that passport
I need it to carry me home from San Francisco
Or I'll bury my secrets there.

That's the story of a very mysterious Dem bagman
Who jumped bail to miss its denouement
And his backers and the Democratic Party Machine
Sure are glad you won't hear his...swan...song!
