Senate Republicans have suddenly seen the light now that their re-elections are threatened by the steaming mad voters who put them in office. It won't work. We suspect that they'll go back to throwing away trillions of dollars as soon as the fall election season passes. Republicans had a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate that they could rule well by reducing the size of government. They have proven to us that we can expect little good from them.
