One of the unintended consequences created by nakedly partisan "reporters" such as Helen Thomas, is the undermining of trust in our media to be fair and balanced -- that is to say -- to be honest. Ergo, a widespread distrust of the legacy media is inevitable as long as her ilk waddle about and spout their twaddle.
