The denomination is in a civil (or not so civil) war between regular Christian folks and the leftists who control most of the Church bureaucracies. My brother was involved with supporting preacher training schools that were in rebellion against the Church leadership by actually believing in the Bible. The current top hierarchy is made up of a bunch of draft dodgers from the '60s who never believed that Jesus came to save from sin. They have hijacked the Methodist Church and it is the main reason that it is steadily shrinking.
