Some of the pilots are women, some of those aircrews are women, some of those radio operators are women, some of those rescue boat coxswains, engineers and crewmembers are women. Women have been an equal part of the Coast Guard since 1975. The Coast Guard does not operate under the Combat Exclusionary Law that plagues the Dept of Defense. Women are part of the highest traditions of the Coast Guard and serve where needed. In the Coast Guard, gender does not matter.
